I knew this would be fabulous, and that fabric is even more perfect for this set than I imagined it would be. It's beautiful on you... I love it! I'm glad you've worked out what's going on with the gaping.
I hate when a project proves to be so frustrating! However, your final result is stunning! SO becoming on you, and I think the fabric is gorgeous! Well done!
I just want to stop by to say I love your videos. I was getting bored with sewing bloggers as they all seem to be repeating the same makes as the next but you have reinvigorated my love for watching sewing bloggers again. Keep up the fun videos. A fellow 5ft3er
The fabric and fit look great. I made the sleeveless top and it seems a bit big on me but I like the style and it’s wearable. I struggled with application of the facing but, through trial and error, did figure it out. I should make the skirt. It looks great on you.
A good honest review. I do like it as it’s a different style of pattern that I have not seen before. Maybe you could sew the ties that went around your neck to the bodice purely as ornamental that way it won’t pull the neck line up. Anyway another great video!
Have worn it a few times now and enjoying wearing it without the neck ties…. Just need to embrace the rippling neckline if I want the ties up. It’s all good 😊
I did the same with the pattern and stitched it up before finding out I was sewing the wrong view. I’m also currently stuck in the fabric in the front seam as the facings don’t go to the edge of the front until you’ve sewn the casings.
Love the set on you😍. I haven’t made anything with the adjustable ties as I wondered it would change the lay of the pattern piece, thanks for so much info. I hand thought about trying to do challenge 2 with a time restraint 🤔
Thank you for sharing your outfit. It looks lovely on you and I am glad you figured out the fit issue. Love the Bluey shirt, my family (grandkids as well as college students) are all bit fans.
I have made it 3 times ,2 turned out fine , the last one 1 I made in a viscose and it turned out like yours ,I think it also depends on the fabric used too
I often have that gaping issue with v necks and it’s a combination of me having narrow shoulders and an extra large bust. I usually need to reduce the distance between my shoulders and upper bust…sometimes up to an inch. Also, like Becky from what Bec Sews I will size down for my shoulders then grade out for my bust. Depends on the block of the pattern designer though.
Have resorted to wearing without the neck strap detail and a bandeau top underneath… just needed to play with it to make it look how I wanted. If I adjusted the shoulders to accommodate the neckline it wouldn’t sit right with the ties left down… so they’re staying down!! 😊
I love the set. I made mine in a blue and white Batik. I don’t get the gaping but I don’t pull up the gathered nearly as much as I don’t want to show my midriff. Your fabric is gorgeous. I am about to make a long sleeve version in a bright jungle type print from Beyond the Pink Door subscription box. I agree the neckline is low and I will raise it up an inch. Otherwise I didn’t adjust a thing and found the fit to be okay. I generally like Swim Style patterns but agree that the instructions are a bit sparse in places and overly descriptive in others which tempts me to skim over some bits. Doesn’t put me off them though. 😊 Happy Sewing. Lynne
Love the pattern on you. I love your patience and perseverance! @sosewmad has just released her make of the Andi top and she also had problems with the neckline when she pulled up the neck tie. It would be interesting to see if other sewists have come up with a solution.
Thank you! I’ve now worn it a few times since with a bandeau top underneath and I love it. It’s been great in the warmer weather. Loveredsews looks to be making it for the final busy bee challenge this month so interested to see how hers turns out 😁
I love your Andi set!! Just beautiful! My suggestion on the fit….you are following the measurements to fit your bust. Instead, you should fit the upper bust (from the crook in one arm to other) use that measurement then do a full bust adjustment to fit “the girls!” Picture yourself with no boobs, you are tiny!! You should fit the trunk then add the FBA to fit the girls.
HI Kate! I think it was SewSarahStyle that also made this set and I felt her top was also too big. I'm not a fan of oversized tops, especially on those of us who are a bit height challenged. I think it just ends up looking like an ill-fitted shirt (my mom used to call it shleppy). I think your fabric choice and the skirt details make the outfit. I do love the string/rouching detail and it's what made me almost purchase the pattern. But seeing the issues you and Sarah had, I think I'll pass. Again, that you so very much for the time you give us to explain your experience with patterns. I always learn or am intrigued by something!
I’ve worn it a few times with the strings down but with a bandeau top underneath. This way it looks intentionally layered so the slight oversized nature doesn’t stand out so much. I love this make but I don’t think I’ll make it again 🤔

Looks super, well done.😊
Ne w subscriber here, what a refreshing change your videos are, this is the truth about sewing, love your Aussie humour it’s so funny 😂
Looks great on you, I’m sure you will make another one

I have had my eye on this pattern for some time. It looks fantastic on you
Beautiful fabric Kate. It looks great ,even thought the top is big on you.
Love your Andi set it really suits you x

Great video, you're so entertaining 😊

It looks great Kate, well done for getting it completed. Can’t believe you only started it on Sunday 😂
I know!! I somehow thought I had another week up my sleeve. Holiday sorely needed!!
Gorgeous ❤
Thank you! 😊
It looks fabulous on you.
Had a sewing failure, last weekend. Even overlocked! Making a coat. Had to unpicked but it worth it. Posted on instagram 😊

So cute!ou are petite! So the shoulders adjustment should fix it.

Have started using the upper bust measurements for my more recent makes and it is turning out well. So definitely a winning move 👍🏻
@@RipperSeams it was a “game changer’ for me also!! Happy sewing!😊
