I made my then boyfriend take me to see Andy and Amen corner in Brid spa back in the late 60's .... had a cracking time... glad to see he is still going strong... Love his voice.
Yes, I remember seeing Van Morrison at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton in the early 90's. Andy Fairweather Low was on guitar. Georgie Fame on keyboards. A really excellent show.
Never judge a book by its cover. To look at him you wouldn't think he'd be capable of such talent. He's not done and dusted because we're still listening.
When he hits the stage he looks every bit capable, his hands do the talking on the guitar and he's very sharp in the suit department is Andy. He's a mod.
His countrified version of 'Travellin' light' featuring tasteful steel guitar is actually very good & deserved to be a hit. As for 'Wide-eyed & legless,' what can you say - a classic that improves with age. I'm sure his regular, non-egotistical attitude helped him secure all those prestigious gigs. Enjoyable video, thanks for posting.
A very impressive CV, talent should always shine through in the end. It is alarming how little insight record companies display when presented with an artist with a proven track record.
If you haven’t already seen Roger Waters In The Flesh-live check it out. Andy plays a stunning piece in Money which the rest of the band just loves ! Also features Snowy White and Doyle Bramhall ll on lead guitars . Fabulous concert !
Such an idiosyncratic solo. Absolutely love Andy and that solo is a great example of why. There's some live versions on youtube of him doing solos on "Leaving Beirut" around 2005 which are also brilliant.
Andy's a great humble talent . He thinks he's been lucky but he hasn't , the first time I heard him in the 70s I knew he had his own great , distinctive thing going on . He's become a great sideman for all these incredible talents , again that's because he can adapt himself and has the personality to blend in with these talents .
Andy, i feel like you are under selling yourself, you would never be in with all of these people, if it wasn't for your talent. Your playing with these guy's because of you. Come down and see if we get along.thats what they said.👏👏👏
Hi Andy meet you many years ago in Cardiff . One of your band mates worked at department store in Cardiff. Sorry can't remember his name . I was 16 then ! Lol
Andy you had to be good to be asked to play with them all, HAHA unless it's because you were the cheapest! LOL Saw you at the Albert Hall when Eric and Steve Winwood played! thouroghly enjoyed your set, keep on Rocking !!
