thats why I love and shop at BRS for the last 5 years, they keep it real. Even showed you a cheaper option, but thats not what they are about. Mad love guys👊
This kit should be a must for new reefers. Its absolutely worth the money to have easy, repeatable test results. Youre gonna end up going through 20 different test kits and refractometers and you'll probably end up settling on the hanna anyways, so just bite the bullet and buy everything you need up front.
pmang6 On the flip side, I don’t think you would appreciate a Hanna as much if you didn’t have all those wtf moments with API test kits, color charts/wheels.
I love my Alk and Cal checkers. One thing iv learned with the calcium checker is it's best to use their water. My readings have been way way better using their water. I did just order the copper and ULR Po4 checker. Cant wait for those.
Love the Hanna testers but from personal experience I would rather buy them separately as the calcium one is not worth the money, you have to be so meticulous to get it perfect or your result will be wrong. Always use Hanna for phosphate and alkalinity and highly recommend them. Don't have the salinity checker yet, thanks for the quick demo on that, looks like a much better option than my refractometer.
@@bradleyrhodes2820 hanna advert that he do both...but when you have a problem...they say only for new saltwater +-1ppt ,but offen is 2 ppt.....,I order and cancel because I see you tube review and read some forums.
@@ThomasBReef sorry, I don't know if you read some experiences with salinity checker, but people have run tests with two HI98319 and the results are different more than 1ppt,further more, the Salinity Calibration Solution is not allways the same, meaning furter problems. The advert say....for aquarium and fresh made salwater..but when problems occur...then is "The product is really only intended for testing fresh mixed saltwater and not for testing tank water due to contaminates can interfere with the reading. Along with that if you don't let it settle you can get inaccurate results and ambient room temperature is recommended for the fluid" Thats the answer from BRS :) I know you want to sell products, but you should be doing some research on products before you claim its all easy and good. Sorry for long post :)
Could never get the Ca test to work properly Alkalinity is goo but found when I changed bottles there was a big jump Phosphate ULR test is awesome, and for me the best of the bunch
I just bought the Hanna alkalinity checker and some extra reagent last week. Very easy to use! Great test kit, unfortunately this pro kit is for the time being out of my budget.
The kit is a life saver although is it just me or between using the Hanna solutions does anyone else get a bit of a descrepency I've gotten as much a .2 difference when using a new reagent vs old. Ive even zero calibrated with the Hanna calibration solution and gotten similar results. Have you experienced anything similar Big T?
FOH (Fish of Hex) mentioned this in one of his recent uploads. He also keeps a little extra of the old reagent to compare with the new batch. He looks at the lot numbers to see if they are different too.
@@freakygoblin3068 Agreed. For most reefers it is not worth it. You have to ask yourself how much money you spend on corals and how much would cost a tank restart in terms of livestock and then you can make a decision. Knowing what I know now I would not invest in a sps tank if I am not willing to get the gear for it. Nothing wrong with that.
I have a question for the reefing community. How much would you pay for a tester that test Alk, Cal, Ph, PO4, NO3, Temp, and Salinity all at once with no other steps than adding 10 mls of sample water to the tester and pressing the go button. 🏆 I’d pay $1200-$1400.
Ryan’s Reef no to even close. I have an apex and a trident and I get those tests automatically multiple times a day. If a handheld existed that tested alk, cal, Po4 and NO3 ..temp and ph aren’t really conducive to periodic testing and salinity is cheap and easy. So for the handheld device to check with a 10ml aliquot I’d pay 300-400 dollars max. Bc there would also be consumables as well I had to buy. But for the convenience it would be worth about 300 ish. IMHO
Tim Law it was more of a fun question. I too have Hanna checker, apex, Mitsubishi salinity checker and so on too. I was just saying I think we can all agree that if you could put a “few drops of water on or in a device with no reagents ,waste water and get instant readings on all the mentioned parameters it’d be pretty awesome.
I really don't understand the pricing of this on Hanna's website - it's £407.42, but if you buy it all individually (without the deionised water), it's £352.38. Are Hanna seriously charging £55.04 for a small bottle of deionised water? I probably would get some of these if the reagent refills were more readily available and weren't twice the price of the Salifert and Red Sea test kits.
I have Hanna and red Sea kit...personally feel most of rea sea is easier or just as fast....ALK is nicer on Hanna but that's about it ...the other Hanna tests are very finicky...

Why cant they make phosphates and alk and nitrates the same as the salinity and ph. That you just dip the checker in the water. So simple. I love my salinity and ph checkers. these others look like a PITA
Jake Mills, Guilty. Got a biocube. Killed all my corals. Dino outbreak from hell. Bought phosphate Hanna and better Nitrate test. Now waiting on the Nitrate Hanna (recent unconfirmed rumor.)

Thomas does such a great job at presenting videos. Keep it up!
Hey Thomas. Wow, I didn't know you joined BRS TV. Assembling Eheim 2217 is one hell of a job but you made it very easy for me. Thank you.

The kits is great. One of the best testing kits I have bought.

First view and comment. I’m from Bangladesh 🇧🇩!
Ive used these for a while not heard good results with the salt tester
Yep i agree magnesium and nitrate tester would be good
I would advise GHL KH Director and Ion Director and you test everything outside of Phosphate automatically multiple times per day
Only if you have a lot of money to spare. Don't get me wrong.. on my wish list but for most it's only a dream.
