We wanted to create something affordable, and capable and I think we've done it. Huge thanks to Utah Trikes for their help designing and manufacturing The Rig. We hope it brings as many miles of happiness, adventure, and exploration to you as it has done for us. Designing an affordable bike that happens to be accommodating has taken us more than a year and a half. Of course we plan on building and improving The Rig over the next few years. We welcome all suggestions for improvement in the comments! Let us know what you think!

The world is a cruel place and most disabled people are thrown away. We are trash in most of your eye's. She's beyond lucky, too, too many of us in her shape are homeless.

You’re both awesome! Something to take note of, the bikes tires are designed for two wheels to hold the weight of one person, you now have four tires supporting one person. I believe you can let 50% or more air pressure out of those tires have a softer ride and better traction On snow and ice, sand and so on : )
The downside to lower pressure is reduced range, better tires would probably be the first place to start.

@@RayleighCriterion When the air pressure is lower, the tire sinks less into the snow, there is less resistance. Fat bike tires are inflated to 5 or 8 psi in the winter and 12 or 20 psi in the summer on hard surfaces
If you mount a "not a flamethrower" on front of the not a wheelchair it would even be better.

Zach's love for his wife is everything. The love he has for her has no bounds and it's pretty fantastic. My lady and I have been together for 10 yrs come October and we rarely see people who undeniably love love love their significant other the way people should.

Man you are something. I wish everyone were like you. You chose a disabled person as your life partner. You didn't judge her disability, you only judged her as a normal person. You even took a pice from her wheel chair and made it your wedding ring, you are still doing everything you can to make her feel comfortable and to make her forget that she is disabled.
As a person you are also concerned about your nation, I am following many other reviewers from your country and they didn't show that much concern about USAs politics but you did.
You are really a perfect roll model for young generation.

Hi Jerry, I’m not a paraplegic but I have a chronic Liver disease “PSC” and sometime it’s hard for me to go out to nature and enjoyed the views..I love hiking with my friends but I haven’t gone to a hike that I love in almost 2 years... this bike would definitely give me the freedom to join my friends.
@Oye unfortunately, as far as "disability tax" goes, the Rig is way cheaper than almost any comparable options. So while its 5k to buy, it's way cheaper than most

I’ve been watching your videos for quite some time now and I just wanted to say that what you do with wheelchairs are simply freaking awesome & amazing. I’ve been in a wheelchair basically my whole 30 years of living & I always wanted to find a way to make/rig my own wheelchairs but unfortunately i have no resources to do that. But anyways, it would be a life changing dream come true if i was able to meet you one day.

Ya , I’m a paraplegic and as soon as woke up from out of a coma I ask my GF to marry me , she said yes but in my heart I knew would never happen. She broke up with me in a text message while I was still in the hospital a week later. We were in our 30’s. She’s a lucky woman and he’s an amazing man.

A self inflating tire system would allow for deeper snow, and reinflating when done. Drop those fat tires to two or three pounds and you'll have great traction.
The best thing would be to make tracks out of the cheapish snow blower tracks,
I concur with lowering tire pressure. Added weight in the back and it would act like a snow/sand monster crawler.
What you did for Scar is amazing. Watching him blaze around his neighborhood made my day.

This is amazing. Currently out of our budget at this time but one say will do what we can and get one of these for my spouse. She has not been able to enjoy much independence since we live in Norther Ontario. She has never been able to go on walks and hikes ever sadly. People like you are beyond amazing changing the future and helping the ones we love.

The design is doing well, so far. More testing in various environments/situations will surely help improve future design. How great that people with paralysis have another option to explore the world.

Drop the tire pressure in the back and half as much in front and you'll get more traction. I've a invention that only takes two minutes to install, that will give you much better traction in snow and sand and cut your tire cleaving afterwards to two seconds. I would gladly trade that idea for one of these rigs, and throw in ten more wheelchair inventions. As this is probably not feasable, do you have any zero down financing? 37 years chair bound and Rhumatoid arthritis is keeping me grounded. Second generation: all wheel drive with a motor to each wheel, that seconds as generation of energy to battery when braking. Two speed for your solid axel set up can be had with very few moving parts and very little extra weight. What you have done here is one of the greatest breakthroughs that I have seen in my 37 years of living from a chair. Great job, and such a labor of love.
This thing is so awesome. You could have a set of “winter rims” that have sheet metal screws screwed into the knobbies of the tires like they use for ice racing motorcycles.
