- We Test to see if adding a pressurised buffer tank after a pump has an effect on reducing a pump's power consumption.
This video is a quick one showing the testing we did.

Good test. Thanks.😊
Glad we could help
I have the normal .75kw centrifugal pump with a pressure tank. What should the pressure tank be set to in bars?
It is difficult to say as it will depend on the pressure switch. A good place to start though would be 1.4bar as many of the pressure switch are set around there.
If you have an in line 3 stage filter with ph correction vessel, extra siliphos cartridge and UV filter, where would the best place be to install the pressure vessel. Would a jet pump without controller be sufficient?
It depends a bit on what is practical in your setup. Ideally I would say just after the system as then you have a buffer of treated water, but you might find that this will let the pump cycle a bit more. On the jet pump you will need a controller to turn it on and off depending on pressure. What do you have at the moment?
@@FilterShopZa thank you for the explanation. I also initially thought to install it after the treated water. I have a 0.75kw jet pump with basic controller. Not the most user adjustable, but does the job.
Try if as it is but if you find your not getting much capacity out of the tank you can upgrade to one of these adjustable controllers: filtershop.co.za/en/coelbo-switchmatic-1@@renierjoubert9176
