A great McCartney r&b tune, with his distinctive vocal and horn arrangement, which is why it is song #41 on my Paul McCartney collection Love In Song.

I was there that night and attended the backstage party after the show which was quite aparty as it was their last night of the tour. Many celebs were there like Elton John and Cher. I talked for a while with Wings guitarist Denny Laine; he is down to earth and quite nice. He escorted me to the real party within the party, where I got to sit at the same table with Paul & Linda...and by the way George and Ringo were there as well. It was night night I will always remember.

What a great song , awesome guitar and brass blend. And the maccartney raspy singing. Classic wings. And Dennys " aw aw aw," and then grinning at Paul.

Paul shoudl switch out "Let Me Roll It" with this tune. LMRI has been played in every tour for the last 10 years, love it but had enough. They both have a similar bluesy feel.

    Part II for Lynn Thurman
Jimmy McCulloch is superb on Medicine Jar live, no idea why he wasn't 'forced' to sing more.
Linda - Such a distant last place it isn't funny. (Yes, her studio vocals are OKAY - NOT great, but okay. With PM guiding her syllable by syllable.)
    * I would take minute exception to the Hey Jude bit. The rusty Beatles (rusty for live performance) played along to a pre-recorded backing track but that IS them singing live in the foreground. Cheers.

I very much prefered Paul being with his true band. Nice to see he hasn't lost his talent anyway. :)

The first note with the syllable "eye" doesn't want to quite rise to the note. Still great performance. "I" and "ee" are tough to make sit in the middle of the pitch, especially when screamed. You have to cheat it with an "eh" opening in the back of your throat.

Anyone on the planet that points out a flaw in a McCartney vocal and proceeds to give advice on how to do it right needs to record this whole song live to prove it. Otherwise STHU. SMH

Paul had a tendency to do that going back to the Beatles. The famous performance of Hey Jude on the Smothers Brothers is full of Paul's overdubs. Kinda surprising that Linda & Denny's vocals were so weak (okay, maybe not Linda's) cause Denny was overall an excellent singer. He & Paul made a good vocal duo.

Paul should switch out Let Me Roll It with this tune, they have similar bluesy feels and LMRI has been performed in every tour for the last 10 years. It's time to retire it...

Lynn Thurman - Agree most of what you're saying though if you check out Joe English's (... Christian crazy! website) and from Wings at the Speed of Sound ..."Must Do Something About It," you'll see why I now give me vote to Joe as best 'other' singer in the 76' version of Wings. Here's in fact how I'd rate them:
. PM - enough said. Mt. Everest (though the 63-64' version of John was as good and at times as "Beatles NME Winners 64' PROVES, better.
    . Joe English
. Tie - Denny AND Jimmy
    .
    .

Geoff Emerick and Paul re-did EVERY SINGLE backing vocal which is not bad thing given Linda and Denny's truly horrible, pathetic backup vocals. However, Mr. M should have told folks he had thus sweetened things!
Great irony greatest rock singer in the world, maybe ever, belting it out while the backup vocals sound like pub friends - and bad ones at that.
