North Weald available from Friday 11th October
In this video we take a look at the upcoming new North Weald Airfield from Burning Blue Design. It's a historic airfield and very busy in the modern era with a NPAS base and also Essex and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance.
Having looked at North Weald in detail we then go for a quick flight in the area to get a feel for the environment and come back for a landing. The helicopter flying is all good practice for me as the 500E is a nimble little thing that I need to dial into having been in the Huey and H145!

I went to my first ever airshow here back in 1985. Saw Gary Newman flying his Harvard painted up as a zero. Awsome days !!

The wall on the east side of the airfield is the old firing butts which is now a shooting Club. An excellent rendition of the airfield!

Been waiting for this for ages! Used to go there when they had the Fighter Meets and I’ve flown in a few times. Glad the water tower has been included. As a pilot you don’t want to fly north of it as you’d be in Stansted airspace.
I believe the wall structure outside the entrance is the firing butts.

Another superb video and well so lifelike. Spent over 20 years at North Weald and its the one place that along with Anthony Hutton there, started the ball rolling for all that I've done in Warbirds and vintage aviation. Many many flights from there over the years in a myriad of types including countless Harvards, Mustangs, Avenger, Beech 17 and 18, Dakotas, Yak52s, Stearmans, Chipmunks, Jet Provost, T-28, Globe Swift, etc etc. Happy days never to be repeated. Burning Blue have done a wonderful job and you another worthy and watchable video. Thank you.

Great video! Needless to say I've been shopping...:) Passed this airfield many times after landing on a commercial flight from the north to Stansted enroute to London for work. Hugely historical airfield and great to have it so faithfully recreated in the sim. Great preview! Thank you!

Another great first review, this one is my local airfield which I have been waiting for the release for sometime, I know someone has already commented but the interesting wall you was flying over, the Epping pistol club. There is also a market on Sundays near where the ambulance service hanger is located. Glad we finally have NW in this level of detail in the sim. Thank you for bringing such great content and look forward to the next one!

Years ago I remember going parascending here once, being pulled into the air by a landrover and nearly drifting west straight over the M11 :)

Lived there tears ago and have a friend with an aircraft hangared there and it looks pretty good. Close enough that you would recognise the place if you saw it after exploring the scenery.

Used to play sunday league football over there, the place was really run down back in the 80's

15:26 At first I thought it was a 25m range, but was probably butts for calibrating and testing the fighter aircraft guns.
