As a day 1 Diluc main, there are some things I'd like to point out. 1. You'd actually want to prioritize Diluc's Normal Attack over his burst. His burst is only really useful for the Pyro Infusion. The majority of his damage is his Pyro Infused Normal attacks and his skill hits, especially if you're able to Vape the three skill hits. I have him triple crowned, but that's because I do love him. His Skill is massive damage for both Melt and Vape playstyles, assuming you can consistently melt or vape each hit. 2. Technically, his BiS is Beacon of Reed Sea/R5 Serpent Spine, depending on whether you have a shield or not. Also, Mailed Flower is Criminally Underrated. It is an amazing F2P option for those that have it, and definitely worth pointing out. 3. Xingqiu is an amazing teammate, especially if running Kazuha on the team. Sucrose, Lynette, Zhongli, Albedo, Jean, all can work as well. Won't recommend Venti, because his burst is going to take smaller enemies out of Diluc's range. That's all I have to say. Great quick guide apart from that, keep up the good work! Edit: As this is a pinned comment, I think it's worth adding this information in now. Diluc got a massive buff thanks to Furina and more importantly, Xianyun. Because of his insane plunge multiplier, if you're using Xianyun for anyone else, throw her with Diluc and watch him absolutely destroy everything in this game. A small playstyle change would be needed however, and 4 Crimson while still his BiS, is no longer miles ahead of other sets. You could run 4 Lavawalker or a 2pc 2pc combo of 2pc Crimson and 2pc Atk/EM set, depending on weapons. His skill doesn't matter as much now, since you want to spend your maximum time doing plunges. Dash cancel the plunge as soon as you land and jump again, plunge again. Vape is the best team for him for consistent damage. Bennett, Furina and Xianyun is now the best team for him. However, you can replace Furina with Xingqiu or Yelan and that works as well, but then the attack rotation changes to Plunge -> NA -> Plunge -> NA, with the intention of vaping your plunge hits.
As a diluc day 1 main(and still going), I very much agree to number 1 and number 2 very much, especially the mailed flower. However, here are a couple more things to add as I've found out: You can also redhorn depending if you don't have good luck with artifacts OR if you wanna be special. I say the first bit because sometimes you can end up with artifacts with def on it and you're still looking for that one artifact but you just know RNGesus ain't supportive of your goals just like your parents or legal guardian when you want to be an artist or journalist and you're Asian and you just know it isn't something your parents would be proud of. Okay as for teams, it's really an all depends, just like kinda experiment. Pretty much the third point hits the nail but you can flexible. So for all you die hard F2P folks from day 1, you can go lisa, Barbara, and either kaeya or xianling(amber for situational purposes). Xiangling/amber would be just there for the 25% atk bonus. Kaeya for melt or if you just want both he and diluc to kill each other. Now for all you casual and regular folks who most likely works a 8 to 5 jobs, maybe was a day 1 player, but sometimes ain't consistent because we wanna pay the bills and feed our habits and become a whale, here's what you can do if you don't have certain characters that was mentioned in point 3: Yes, sucrose would work nicely as mentioned. You can also use kuki and fischl if you want to use overload reactions, and if you do, I prefer kuki cause she can heal. You can also use Mona because RNGesus likes to make fun at you, resulting in always losing a 50/50, which really isn't that bad if you think about it because Mona is actually pretty decent. And hilarious. Now if for whatever reason you don't have sucrose, sure, you can use faruzan but uh...why? At that point, just go with sayu if you need healer. Now if RNGesus has been kind to you sometimes, raiden works pretty well even if you can't get a c2 raiden.

I would like to point out a couple of thing I disagree with. 1st, I would say that, as long as you have atk% coming from weapons, it's more worth to go 2 crimson and 2 wanderer/gilded/the third em set, than 2 glad. Since you'd likely run him with 2 pyro and likely the 2nd one will be benny em is much more valuable. The 2nd thing is the lvl up talent order. I would say that you should lvl skill and na first, followed by the ultimate. Of course this was my impression, however my na attack are crazy. They hit way harder than the skill (he's not c4 so...) so I would simply change that. Overall a great straight up and basic guide on how to build a character!

Even if you'er running him with benny, It is still bettterto go for 4Pc Crimson witch in my opinion. The 4 pc effect is still better. and Yes, while it is indeed true that for Vape of melt build you need EM. You can geet some EM from sands and substats. exception being, when you're not using your E skill much (in xianyun team) value of 4pc CW will drop down by alot, in that case it can be better to run gilded dreams or marachaussee(if you have furina). ~aDilucMain_from_Day1
After 1,130 days of playing, i finally able to get him up to C6, bought his 5s skin, R1 Gravestone, 3x crowned and soon planning to get Navia's Verdict Axe since 5s crit rate claymore is rare.
I've mained Diluc for 3 years now and here's a few things. His talent priority is Skill = Basic Attack > Burst. leveling burst does not increase the damage or duration of the infusion which is it's main purpose. For his artifacts, the elemental mastery is a lot more important when using characters like Xingqiu, or the newly added Furina. meaning you should always focus EM for sands. if you can't get it then it's better to go 2 piece crimson with a 2 piece that increases EM like wanderer's troupe. Lastly. after doing a lot of testing with weapon on Diluc. his best is wolf's gravestone if you are using crit circlet. if you're using attack circlet then Beacon of the Reed Sea is better. Redhorn consistently performs worse than both due to Diluc having low base defence with little incentive to get more, on top of the weapon having low base attack. the crit damage is nice if you don't have either of the aforementioned weapons but it's potential DPS is outclassed in almost every case.
For the f2p 4 star weapons, currently I'm having a Prototype Archaic at R4 or R5 I think. I don't have Rainslasher at that refinement. I wanna know how good is the Tidal Shadow, the craftable claymore from Fontaine, and also the newest one, the Ultimate Overlord's Magic Sword, whose stats are revealed and is coming in the newest patch as a free claymore. Are they any better than the Prototype?
@@leppaeti1815 Overlord seems pretty decent at higher refinements, although i'll need to test it out myself before can say for certain. if you run bennet, especially c6, you can get excellent value out of Tidal shadow if you can keep the field up often. However archaic is really good on him due to Diluc's high attack stat. So it's personal preference really. Tidal shadow will most likely perform slightly better overall with bennet but archaic will perform better against bosses and tough enemies

Diluc is easy to use and beginner friendly. But in terms of pyro dmg, he's powercrept by Hutao, Yoimiya, and even 4 star characters like Yanfei and Razor oh boi. He's still usable in Abyss tho and can still 36 star.
You know what? THERE IS NO BAD CHARACTERS AT ALL. It depends on you, as the player on how you build your characters. I am sorry for ranting this but I am sick and tired of those people who keeps on comparing characters, old or new ones, left and right. Guys, this is a FREE TO PLAY game. I know some of you wants to showcase their builds, stuffs and anything but saying one character isn't good enough or just whatever.... argh! You know, I just got Diluc at ar56 in Alhaitham's release banner and lost 50/50 but still I am okay with it since I also want him since 2021 when I started played genshin. I am not much into pulling characters though. I only pull characters that I like and fun to play with. Just my personal opinion, okay? 😊
You're absolutely right. I'm aiming to review all characters eventually, I'm sure I'll find myself surprised when one I wouldn't have looked twice at before becomes a team staple. Appreciate your thoughts.

I unfortunatly didn't manage to get thd beacon, I would have loved it. However I have wolf. Now, I assume it's safe to say that wolf with the passive proc give the highest dmg output but without that, how weaker it is compared to beacon?

i played from 1.0 up until klee came out, Razor carried me all the way to ar 45. I recently played on and off and got diluc a while ago. Im already use to using a claymore user as a main dps and diluc is 100% more fun with his e and aa weaving. Went from using Razor, Xiaoling, Fischl, Qingxu to Diluc, Qingxu, Fishcl, Zongli. Basically playing the game on ez mode bc of zongli and having the freedom to switch units without losing your pyro infuse is great. Currently built my diluc the 4 crimson witch set prioritizing EM, big red numbers go burrr
I am AR 59, I want to build Diluc now. what is your current crit ratio? I am planning to buy diluc skin . But something tells me there might be a new skin for Zhongli that may come in 4.4. So I am waiting
I'd say Sucrose in place of Kazuha as an anemo support for the Vape team, although I'm a bit rubbish with her so my results weren't great. If not sucrose then someone like Zhongli or Albedo as a non-reactive support. If you have Mona then that'd be a great choice for more dmg.

I've been a Diluc main ever since losing him to Xiao in 2.7 and ever since Sumeru released, I've been playing him with burgeon since I thought he'd be good for burgeon (and also because my vapes never do good damage) Currently, I play Diluc (on mailed flower for EM and because I don't have any better option), 42k HP Baizhu (for 84% burgeon DMG bonus), Nahida, and Furina. I've been using him on Crimson Witch this entire time, but you say Gilded Dreams is better for burgeon teams? I want to compare them and ask for your advice. Gilded Dreams: Since there's only one pyro character on my team, Diluc will get 230+ EM (including 2pc effect). That's literally all I get for Gilded Dreams. My Diluc, on Mailed Flower and 4pc Gilded Dreams, assuming I go ATK Sands, Pyro Goblet, and Crit DMG Circlet, will have 340 EM, 46.6% Pyro DMG Bonus, and 46.6% ATK. Diluc will also get 84% Burgeon DMG Bonus through Baizhu and Nahida should shred some dendro res, but idk how much, but it shouldn't matter for rn since both teams will have Baizhu, Nahida, and Furina. Crimson Witch of Flames: Diluc gets +15% Pyro DMG Bonus at all times. Burgeon DMG increased by 40%, as well as my burning DMG for when I don't apply hydro. Vaporize DMG increased by 15% for when I don't hit cores, which is inevitable, but should be avoided. If I use Diluc's elemental skill 3 times, I get an additional 22.5% Pyro DMG Bonus, and when adding a pyro goblet, I get a total of 84.1% Pyro DMG bonus, without counting Furina's Fanfare stacks. Diluc, on Mailed Flower and 4pc CWoF, assuming I go ATK Sands, Pyro Goblet, and Crit DMG Circlet, will have 110 EM, 84.1% Pyro DMG bonus, and 46.6% ATK. He will also deal 124% more damage for each Burgeon when Baizhu's burst is active. Why is Gilded Dreams better than CWoF in a burgeon team? Also, idk if it will help, but my Diluc is C3 and I'm hoping I get him to C4 soon, just not too soon since I want to actually win my 50/50s.
Although, if I ever do need to switch, I'm glad that the best pyro goblet I have for him and use is already Gilded Dreams, so that should make farming a bit easier.

Not really. I thought that also but go and watch actual good diluc mains. I made a video comparing ayaka to dikuc speedrun. If I remember correctly, diluc had a faster time and ayaka and him were same investment. Now diluc had high constellations but note his constellations are weaker and he is a standard character aka you will have constellations kn him even if you don't want em. Now I do believe ayaka is stronger but regardless the fact diluc can even compete shows that "Oh at the same jnvestment kn other dps, they will just do better" is not true.
I've seen it being compared against WGS and RH with mixed views. With both passives active (combined +40% ATK) it out-damages WGS and RH. Whereas the other 2 are more of a 'lazy' choice. I could have probably gone into a bit more detail about that. Cheers for bringing that up.
If you're going for the mono-pyro team then there's no strict requirement for an anemo unit, it just gives a little boost to pyro dmg bonus. If you do have different anemo units then you can use them for the time being. The last unit in that team is more flexible so you can go for a geo character that can give your party a shield, such as Noelle. Otherwise any other pyro or geo character (or anything that won't react with pyro) will work for now. Hope that helps!

I would recommend running with an EM sands if you can (unless you're doing mono-pyro, in which case Lavawalker would be best) so reactions are more powerful. Maybe also try to raise Crit DMG/ Crit rate, it'll take a bit of grinding but defo worth it. Hope that helps.

Even if you'er running him with benny, It is still bettterto go for 4Pc Crimson witch in my opinion. The 4 pc effect is still better. and Yes, while it is indeed true that for Vape of melt build you need EM. You can geet some EM from sands and substats. exception being, when you're not using your E skill much (in xianyun team) value of 4pc CW will drop down by alot, in that case it can be better to run gilded dreams or marachaussee(if you have furina).

After 1,130 days of playing, i finally able to get him up to C6, bought his 5s skin, R1 Gravestone, 3x crowned and soon planning to get Navia's Verdict Axe since 5s crit rate claymore is rare.

I've mained Diluc for 3 years now and here's a few things.
His talent priority is Skill = Basic Attack > Burst. leveling burst does not increase the damage or duration of the infusion which is it's main purpose.
For his artifacts, the elemental mastery is a lot more important when using characters like Xingqiu, or the newly added Furina. meaning you should always focus EM for sands. if you can't get it then it's better to go 2 piece crimson with a 2 piece that increases EM like wanderer's troupe.
Lastly. after doing a lot of testing with weapon on Diluc. his best is wolf's gravestone if you are using crit circlet. if you're using attack circlet then Beacon of the Reed Sea is better. Redhorn consistently performs worse than both due to Diluc having low base defence with little incentive to get more, on top of the weapon having low base attack. the crit damage is nice if you don't have either of the aforementioned weapons but it's potential DPS is outclassed in almost every case.
For the f2p 4 star weapons, currently I'm having a Prototype Archaic at R4 or R5 I think. I don't have Rainslasher at that refinement. I wanna know how good is the Tidal Shadow, the craftable claymore from Fontaine, and also the newest one, the Ultimate Overlord's Magic Sword, whose stats are revealed and is coming in the newest patch as a free claymore. Are they any better than the Prototype?
@@leppaeti1815 Overlord seems pretty decent at higher refinements, although i'll need to test it out myself before can say for certain. if you run bennet, especially c6, you can get excellent value out of Tidal shadow if you can keep the field up often. However archaic is really good on him due to Diluc's high attack stat. So it's personal preference really. Tidal shadow will most likely perform slightly better overall with bennet but archaic will perform better against bosses and tough enemies
@@ionized_salmon6417 Glad that Overlord's should be easily refinable, since I don't really know how quick one can get 5 claymore billets lol. I use him with Bennet and Xq, they both heal so I guess the passive could be triggered most of fhe time...Will still wait and see how Overlord does. Thanks a lot btw!

Diluc is easy to use and beginner friendly. But in terms of pyro dmg, he's powercrept by Hutao, Yoimiya, and even 4 star characters like Yanfei and Razor oh boi.
He's still usable in Abyss tho and can still 36 star.

You know what? THERE IS NO BAD CHARACTERS AT ALL. It depends on you, as the player on how you build your characters. I am sorry for ranting this but I am sick and tired of those people who keeps on comparing characters, old or new ones, left and right. Guys, this is a FREE TO PLAY game. I know some of you wants to showcase their builds, stuffs and anything but saying one character isn't good enough or just whatever.... argh!
You know, I just got Diluc at ar56 in Alhaitham's release banner and lost 50/50 but still I am okay with it since I also want him since 2021 when I started played genshin. I am not much into pulling characters though. I only pull characters that I like and fun to play with.

As a day 1 Diluc main, one thing I do want to point out, is that you'd actually want to prioritize Diluc's Normal Attack over his burst. His burst is only really useful for the Pyro Infusion. The majority of his damage is his Pyro Infused Normal attacks and his skill hits, especially if you're able to Vape the three skill hits. I have him triple crowned, but that's because I do love him. His Skill is massive damage for both Melt and Vape playstyles, assuming you can consistently melt or vape each hit.
Also, technically, his BiS is Beacon of Reed Sea/R5 Serpent Spine, depending on whether you have a shield or not. Also, Mailed Flower is Criminally Underrated. It is an amazing F2P option for those that have it, and definitely worth pointing out.
Xingqiu is an amazing teammate, especially if running Kazuha on the team. Sucrose, Lynette, Zhongli, Albedo, Jean, all can work as well. Won't recommend Venti, because his burst is going to take smaller enemies out of Diluc's range.
I unfortunatly didn't manage to get thd beacon, I would have loved it. However I have wolf. Now, I assume it's safe to say that wolf with the passive proc give the highest dmg output but without that, how weaker it is compared to beacon?

i played from 1.0 up until klee came out, Razor carried me all the way to ar 45. I recently played on and off and got diluc a while ago. Im already use to using a claymore user as a main dps and diluc is 100% more fun with his e and aa weaving. Went from using Razor, Xiaoling, Fischl, Qingxu to Diluc, Qingxu, Fishcl, Zongli. Basically playing the game on ez mode bc of zongli and having the freedom to switch units without losing your pyro infuse is great. Currently built my diluc the 4 crimson witch set prioritizing EM, big red numbers go burrr

I'd say Sucrose in place of Kazuha as an anemo support for the Vape team, although I'm a bit rubbish with her so my results weren't great. If not sucrose then someone like Zhongli or Albedo as a non-reactive support. If you have Mona then that'd be a great choice for more dmg.

I've been a Diluc main ever since losing him to Xiao in 2.7 and ever since Sumeru released, I've been playing him with burgeon since I thought he'd be good for burgeon (and also because my vapes never do good damage) Currently, I play Diluc (on mailed flower for EM and because I don't have any better option), 42k HP Baizhu (for 84% burgeon DMG bonus), Nahida, and Furina. I've been using him on Crimson Witch this entire time, but you say Gilded Dreams is better for burgeon teams? I want to compare them and ask for your advice.
Gilded Dreams:
Since there's only one pyro character on my team, Diluc will get 230+ EM (including 2pc effect). That's literally all I get for Gilded Dreams.
My Diluc, on Mailed Flower and 4pc Gilded Dreams, assuming I go ATK Sands, Pyro Goblet, and Crit DMG Circlet, will have 340 EM, 46.6% Pyro DMG Bonus, and 46.6% ATK. Diluc will also get 84% Burgeon DMG Bonus through Baizhu and Nahida should shred some dendro res, but idk how much, but it shouldn't matter for rn since both teams will have Baizhu, Nahida, and Furina.
Crimson Witch of Flames:
Diluc gets +15% Pyro DMG Bonus at all times.
Burgeon DMG increased by 40%, as well as my burning DMG for when I don't apply hydro.
Vaporize DMG increased by 15% for when I don't hit cores, which is inevitable, but should be avoided.
If I use Diluc's elemental skill 3 times, I get an additional 22.5% Pyro DMG Bonus, and when adding a pyro goblet, I get a total of 84.1% Pyro DMG bonus, without counting Furina's Fanfare stacks.
Diluc, on Mailed Flower and 4pc CWoF, assuming I go ATK Sands, Pyro Goblet, and Crit DMG Circlet, will have 110 EM, 84.1% Pyro DMG bonus, and 46.6% ATK. He will also deal 124% more damage for each Burgeon when Baizhu's burst is active.
Why is Gilded Dreams better than CWoF in a burgeon team?
Also, idk if it will help, but my Diluc is C3 and I'm hoping I get him to C4 soon, just not too soon since I want to actually win my 50/50s.
Although, if I ever do need to switch, I'm glad that the best pyro goblet I have for him and use is already Gilded Dreams, so that should make farming a bit easier.

Diluc will never be not good. His kit is so braindeadly simple, and he’s pyro so he rlly can’t be bad.

gravestone is in standart banner so if you are lucky or unlucky enough you can get it by accident, his best team probably bennett-kazuha-yelan team

Not really. I thought that also but go and watch actual good diluc mains. I made a video comparing ayaka to dikuc speedrun. If I remember correctly, diluc had a faster time and ayaka and him were same investment. Now diluc had high constellations but note his constellations are weaker and he is a standard character aka you will have constellations kn him even if you don't want em.
Now I do believe ayaka is stronger but regardless the fact diluc can even compete shows that "Oh at the same jnvestment kn other dps, they will just do better" is not true.

I've seen it being compared against WGS and RH with mixed views. With both passives active (combined +40% ATK) it out-damages WGS and RH. Whereas the other 2 are more of a 'lazy' choice. I could have probably gone into a bit more detail about that. Cheers for bringing that up.
@@prepprzmoon you say with both passives active, but wgs second passive only occurs when the enemy is below 30% hp, making it hard to proc in a way.

If you're going for the mono-pyro team then there's no strict requirement for an anemo unit, it just gives a little boost to pyro dmg bonus. If you do have different anemo units then you can use them for the time being. The last unit in that team is more flexible so you can go for a geo character that can give your party a shield, such as Noelle. Otherwise any other pyro or geo character (or anything that won't react with pyro) will work for now. Hope that helps!

I would recommend running with an EM sands if you can (unless you're doing mono-pyro, in which case Lavawalker would be best) so reactions are more powerful. Maybe also try to raise Crit DMG/ Crit rate, it'll take a bit of grinding but defo worth it. Hope that helps.

4 PC Noblesse is the best option for purely supporting the rest of your team. You can go 4PC Severed Fate if you want her to do some damage.
