@@AverageJoe97 they snap all the time. My friend has broken 2 and he is not a hardcore rider. There is a reason on all of 5 devs ads on Instagram they have comments turned off. Besides the R&D some companies do like for example 5DEV, you start to wonder how much markup they actually ask for such products when you see a Chinese manufacturer produce these for $70... Keeping in mind they also need to have some profit on it. It's just mind boggling how much overpriced MTB products have become the last 5 years. Around 5 years ago you bought a fully decked out Canyon MTB, all high-end components and carbon frame for ~$3500 max. The current prices of sometimes 11-13k is just insane.
I agree with what you are saying to a point, but you also have to consider that these Chinese companies are using essentially wage slaves to produce these products at a much lower cost, they probably have much worse quality control, they have virtually no warranty service, and most of these companies are artificially kept afloat by the CCPs easy money credit policies.

This is fantastic for the consumer, we're not stuck with way overpriced brand name stuff that is made in China just same. If you ride a lot then you definitely can't get the most expensive derailleurs, cassettes, chains or cranks because all those are consumables that wear quickly or break. Usually people who have 10k bikes don't really ride that much or hard so they don't break stuff. I ride 100 mtb rides a season before winter and all of the drivetrain parts are practically consumable. This year I've bent two cranks, broken or worn 2 derailleurs, 1 chain, 1 cassette and that's normal rate of consumption for an ebike.
Great comparison video. but you got one thing wrong, 7075 has higher tensile strength than 7050. What 7050 is better at is stress corrosion resistance.

Let’s be honest. Bucklos is not stealing customers from 5DEV. Anybody who has the money and values high quality components is going to buy the 5DEV set. The type of person to buy the Bucklos was never going to buy the much more expensive set. It is still stealing their design though. 5DEV didn’t invent hollow spindles, but that design is *exactly* the same. If Bucklos put some unique touches on the design and built off of it, I’d have no problems at all. China is gonna China though!
5Dev high quality? These cranks are breaking all the time. 5Dev would go bankrupt replacing all those arms if the cost to buy one set didn't include 50 replacement arms.
Yeah, at first glance counterfeits are a bad thing but I see the point of some clones that are more of a "replica", a German audio guy had such a product last year, the original power amplifier "darTZeel NHB-108" retails for around 50 000€ and the "clone" costs less than a thousand bucks, has a much different design (inside and outside so no problems with the branding) but of course tries to imitate the sound characteristics. He tested it and it works fine and let's be honest: I'm sure >90% of the population spend less than 50 000€ in their entire life on audio/HiFi equipment, so they may dream of some highend stuff but it's far above their financial capabilites or their enthusiasm for HiFi. It's okay as long as they don't hurt patents or gave it the original name (had this in Barcelona a couple years ago, there were a bunch of hawkers here and there however they sold FC Barcelona Jerseys with the official logo of the club and sponsors but without the Nike swoosh. And here the price difference is also very large, so I'm sure it doesn't "steal" customers who wanted to buy a real 5Dev set. It's your decision, I myself would rather get some stuff that's in my budget from more obtainable brands than buying clones/knockoffs (I got a authentic Boss handbag instead of some LV, Chanel, Gucci etc. 1:1 knockoff and have a honest Android phone by Sony and not an iPhone clone (I saw some videos where they got a cheapo Android phone and modded the housing to make it look like an iPhone)), but as I said, as long as it's an off-brand/fantasy brand with good quality I'm okay with that.

5dev is crap anyway so it does not matter.
Stop shilling for companies that steal designs with no thought put into the safety and functionality of the product. Not only is that shady AF but the product could also be unsafe. I hear the same BS all the time, “okay, they’re stealing but they’re appealing to a different customer.” Theft = no bueno, no matter how you cut it. All other rationalizations are just that.
are you talking about 5dev 😂😂
Bucklos is not a brand who makes and engineer their own component they are a distribution company that have their components made by other Chinese manufacturers you never heard about like: Altop precision, Anhui liteduro, Xingtai tianjiu or maybe you've heard of FXT metal?
😂
It's all the same fake cranks made in the same factory. In other words...
@@LaurentiusTriarius oh, FTX metal! Uh yeah.
Down load some 3d modeling software. Learn how to measure. Create a model. Send to china on any of the hundreds of manufacturing company's in China. Specify what material you want to use. Nek minute cranks in the post. Job done!
Wasted video with the terrible music owning the show.
disappointed to see you measuring in "grams", the metric system is a knock off of imperial. ounces, pounds and stones are more accurate
@@flytoday ha! Can't win with this one.
This. Personally I would actually measure the crank length in football fields and the weight in elephants.
@@john_john_john my son who is 832 weeks old agrees.
Waiting for the titanium 5dev ripoffs.
Don't they already exist?
Like ain't 5dev titanium cranks already enough of a rip off 😂
@@stephendriver1814 how do u tie your shoes in the morning? Lmfao
5chiv😅.
The Chinese one ! Brake it ? I bet thers a lot of air bubbles set in the metal
Irresponsible to even show this garbage. "Hey, let's give free advertising to Aliexpress knock-off garbage products! Neato!"
If someone impales themselves on one of these POS cranks, they could name you in the lawsuit. For we all know, there will be ZERO recourse going after some foreign garbage copycat "manufacturer" of that junk.
Buying this dreck is ALMOST as bad as buying knowingly stolen bikes & components.
Then again, the buyer of "really good deals" from shady sources deserves to suffer the consequences of putting critical junk components on their bikes.
What a load of trollop 😂
Lol😂 lawsuit 😂😂😂
Lawsuit lolll

@dudeonbike800 who is a thief?
