I was actually surprised he didn't actually mention Brad Dourif being in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I actually when I first saw the movie I laughed out loud at the reference, because of that fact.
It makes sense that Cult gets some of the sarcasm and charm from previous installments back. Since we find out in the end that there are multiple Chuckys doing different missions and therefore some of the Chucky dolls we encounter are the original quippy versions.
"A true classic never goes out of style! You said that to me once! After stabbing a man 39 times!" is a reference to Bride of Chucky, John Ritter's character's death. And "He'll be back. He always comes back" is another reference to Bride of Chucky, Chucky's death scene by the end.
Yet, if I'm not wrong, Chucky didn't stab the corrupt police man 39 times I think it was just a few stabs since he had to do it quick for not to get caught
I believe the evisceration death was a reference to Seed Of Chucky when Redman is eating dinner and his guts are cut out. Although I’m not sure if that was Chucky or Tiffany
I love the Chucky Things You Missed episodes :) Also don't forget the actor who played Dr. Foley in Cult and Nathan from S1 of the show isn't the only example of an actor playing two different parts in the Chucky universe. The actress who plays the package delivery girl who delivers Chucky to Andy in the post credit scene of Curse is also the actress who plays Nurse Ashley AND the actor who plays Multiple Malcolm in Cult is the same actor who plays the cop that Tiffany kills at the end of Curse.
Two things: 1. God damn. That shirt is doing the Lord's work. 2. Awesome video, I noticed the reference to cuckoo's nest when I watched Cult. I thought I was just seeing things.
Anyone remember the weird line of “Presto your bald!”? I love how Chucky turns it into a quib when he kills that one guy by saying “Presto, you’re dead.”
I believe, the fact Chucky turns “human” so quick has to do with the type of voodoo ritual he does. In the first movie, he seems to not know too much about it, whereas in this movie & the TV series, he seems more knowledgeable about it thanks to the “Voodoo For Dummies”. So maybe the first ritual from “Child’s Play” is really amateur, that’s why it takes so long to complete, whereas this one is a more advanced form of voodoo? Idk, just speculation & seems to make more sense since Andy’s doll in this film turned human fairly quickly
Somebody else probably pointed this out, but when Chucky talks about setting somebody on fire and Eviscerating them, I’m pretty sure he’s referring to seed of chucky when he sets one of the girls ( can’t remember her name) on fire and she falls down the stairs. As for the Evisceration, I think he’s referring to when Tiffany cut open that one rappers stomach in seed. I could be wrong but I hope this helps.( if I am wrong please correct me)
@@RiquoSuave410 maybe he's saying it referring to Glen/Glenda and Tiffany as accomplices since they are dolls too, also Chucky did see Redmans body in the closet back in seed
I was always under the belief that the message from Tiffany was a threat or a promise to those at the hospital should Andy show up or try to interfere with Chuckys plan.
The jake dr foley is talking about in that scene is Carlos's husband. In fact, the thing the doctor says next is "you guys have an anniversary coming up or something, right?" or something like that. We know he has an husband because he mentions him previously in the movie, while talking with Nica, so it's clearly the option that makes sense the most, considering the dialogue with the doctor. I think that Jake's name in the series - considering that he is a gay character as well- may be a reference to this jake :)
10:42 I think that’s a refrance to the chucky show. In the show chucky goes to Lexis house and goes behind the curtain and attacks her and it soon starts the fire.
I really like cult of Chucky cause it was scary and suspenseful like Curse of Chucky but it also is funny and has a sense of dark humor just like Bride and Seed. I love it. Also why do I learn more from these videos then school… 😒 whatever school sucks but these videos…. 👌Yes Mam 👌
3:39 To be fair the mental hospital in the original film looked run down and underfunded which is probably why the electroshock machine fried Dr Ardmore instead of just shocking him.
i always thought the multiple Chucky refer to prev film Melt Hand : CP 1 One Hand : CP 2 Short Hair : CP 3 the one in Andy's house is from Bride ( & Seed)
Andy Barklay (aka Alex Benson) was not him in Child's Play 3. The actor was Justin Whalin. So we haven't seen andy AS ALEX BENSON HIMSELF ever since Child's Play 2. Just so you know.
Also Multiple Malcom is played by the same actor who played the police office in Curse. Didn't rewatch your video on Curse to see if you mentioned it, but it thought it was interesting to use the same actor.
Nika was actually riding the ride when Chucky fell in Child's Play 3. That's why she sees him in the dream sequence. They mention it in the Chucky TV show
8:47 Bride of Frankenstein even inspired Bride of Chucky because David Kirschner saw a copy of it and suggested to Don Mancini that they make a bride for Chucky.
I know people said they didnt like this movie and the puppet was good, but i still really enjoyed it, the setting was fantastic imo, ofc the puppet wasnt the best but it did the job for me, im happy with it.
I love this video, and I love you, but again, the first movie that Chucky made his head do a 180 in, is the first Child's Play movie. It's the scene where Andy's mom discovers that Chucky never had any batteries inside of him in order to work. And it's when she opens the back of Chucky to reveal the area where the batteries would be, that Chucky turns his head around, and says: "Hi! I'm Chucky! Wanna play?" To which she screams and drops the doll, causing it to go underneath the couch. Go back and watch the scene again. I believe Bride is a reference to how he could do that from the start in the first movie.
1:35 Omg thank you for pointing this out. It always seemed like noone agreed with me that Curse was much more serious and sinister. Ngl i missed that character balance for Chucky. He cracked jokes yet he wasn‘t the joke himself.
really weird comment but over the past couple years i’ve seen you as a creator go from a low voiced murmur to a man on stage projecting himself to thousands of people, you’re very confident in your material and the research you’ve done
I love your videos, they’re always informative and entertaining. Watching you grow as a creator over the years has been such a fun experience. I hope you continue to make content for a long long time.
The Jake mentioned is definitely unrelated. At the beginning of the movie, Nurse Carlos mentioned he had a husband with MS (Multiple Sclerosis). When pervy doctor asked "How's Jake", his response was "He's hanging in there, thanks". He wouldn't say "thanks" on behalf of someone unrelated to him.
Jake is a different character who is Carlos' husband. He is mentioned in deleted scenes where Carlos is selling images of Nica to pay for Jake's medical bills.
13:54 LOL! I'm surprised you didn't catch The Bride Of Chucky/Child's Play 3 Reference. When Nica Says "He'll Be Back He always comes back" that what Chucky directly said to Jesse and Jade before they'd killed Chucky or it could be a slightly modified reference to Child's Play 3. When Chucky Threatened/Notified Tyler that "He'll Be Back"
I knew he looked familiar and becuse of that video i'm rewatching the end of curse of chucky. And noticed (idk if you mentioned) that the cop in the end of Curse of Chucky who finds Nica is the same actor who plays so called Malcolm in Cult of Chucky. Thanks for mentioning that eninding scene with Kyle and others.
It's been awhile since I've seen the movie but I remember, at the end I got the feeling that Chucky knew about Andy's plan all along. Like, that was the twist in the story, where the BBEG planned everything and led the MC into a trap. And that the "Disembowel" clue was just Chucky getting cocky. I still haven't seen the series yet so I don't know if there's anything there to contradict this but I was wondering if "Tiffany" is really who she says she is, it could be a "Chucky" living in a female body for so long, he lost track of all the alias.
