- Today I'm looking at all three Spider-man live action franchises, and we're comparing them SHOWDOWN STYLE!
Here is how this works....I'll rank all 3 franchises in 9 different rounds. Whoever comes in third place in each round gets 3 points, second place 2 points, and first place 1 point. At the end of the showdown, the franchise with the fewest points wins!

I love the Ramie Trilogy mainly bc of nostalgia, and the MCU films will always be a close second, but I nevvvver liked the amazing spiderman films. Also I love how sean chandler is great at individually finding certain aspects to help judge whether a trilogy or set of films is better than another.
The reason there aren’t any standout parts in the TASM series is because there aren’t meant to be any. The movie they were trying to make was a dark take on spider man, and they succeeded. Peter’s life starts at a bunch of high points and as his life as spider man goes on, his life gets worse, and everything turns to crap.
I don’t actually love these movies, but I feel they need to be defended.

That last category: most complete story. Kinda funny. Tobey's Spidey is the only one where we have the complete story. Garfield's ended early and Holland's not done yet. A lot for me rides on how Holland finished out

I pretty much agree with you on this. I'd like to see you do one of these showdown rankings for the Batman films, too! Maybe for the Burton, Schumacher, and Nolan films? Or perhaps for the six live-action actors to have played Batman on the big screen. Love your videos, and can't wait to see more, you've really created some fun new things in this time without any major new releases, keep it up!

I would say it's the best suit of all three. Rami is nostalgic for sure but it's to stiff and the MCU is way to easy to tell its CGI. TASM balanced it the best IMO.

For me the Amazing Spider-Man franchise is my favorite. It provided a modern update of the classic character. And it's very comic accurate to his origin story. The suit is very cool in the first film, as well as the score, and the theme is great for the second film. The crane scene in the first film is great, there's so much that I love about these movies.
I got to disagree in those films they did a poor job with peter, the appeal of spider man is that anyone can wear the mask , anyone could have gotten bit by the spider it just happened to be him but the TASM movies changed it to where he was a chosen one of sorts, only he could have gotten the powers. In their attempt to reinvent the character they made him into a hipster they gave him a skateboard and angsty personality for no reason. Also he is very creepy in those movies he takes pictures of Gwen without her permission and stalks her. They got his quips wrong too, in the beginning of the second one he is just casually talking to the rhino while countless of civillians are dying

Well let's be real, they made the decision to not include uncle ben and the whole origin story because it's already been done a couple times so it makes sense since we've already seen it and it honestly was a great move in my opinion to just talk about it vaguely because they truly felt they didn't have to rehash what's been done in the previous spidermen so they could just finally bring some new great characters and villains to try something new and I thought they did a great job!

Unpopular Opinion: Tony Stark, despite being the very pedal that built the commerical success of MCU, is over-involved in the MCU Spider-man. Spiderman Homecoming would work better if Peter being a science nerd would investigate the Vulture crime without Starktech or Karen.
That’s not unpopular opinion. That should be everybody’s opinion. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker relies way too heavily on Tony stark and the previous MCU taking away from the fact that the purpose of Spider-Man is to be a high school kid with this power not knowing how the hell he should protect and defend New York

The first Garfield film is actually very underrated! I recommend at least checking out that one, maybe without looking at the sequel
Amazing Spider-Man is amazing and the Raimi films are amazing but I prefer the MCU version
the garfield films are great. I personally prefer a tail of 2 kittens to the original, but i know that's a semi-unpopular opinion
I would recommend renting both of them but don’t buy either. It’s not worth x10 the amount for movies that don’t have a high rewatchibility.

Tobey was the best choice for Spider-Man purely based on the first shot of him where we see a nearly 30 year old man running after the school bus.
I’m glad that he put actual points instead of being biased towards the Rami films with nostalgia, or the Tom films because it’s connected to the MCU

One thing I really don't understand is why people are so mixed about the fact that other MCU characters shows up in Tom Holland's Spider-Man films. I mean, what were you expecting? He is part of the MCU, of course there's gonna be references to Civil War and Endgame and of course some characters from other franchises were going to show up in his films. It makes sense why Iron Man is in Homecoming, it makes sense why Nick Fury (and his Skrull friend Talos) wants to team up with Spider-Man and it also makes sense why Happy Hogan shows up in both of his films.
Apparently it's okay for other MCU characters to show up in a Captain America movie or a Thor movie, but for some reason it's a problem when they show up in a Spider-Man movie? I don't get it!

You've mentioned it in multiple live streams and I think it would be a really cool video idea. Though I understand if you're hesitant because it would probably take a long time to do. The original Spiderman trilogy is by far the best in my opinion. I can’t personally even see how there is any comparison.
The MCU Spider-Man movies do not feel like Spiderman movies, they feel like MCU movies. They don’t take any real story or character risks, they’re some of the most inoffensive movies you’ll find. They are still well made and entertaining enough, but there is no lasting emotional impression at all. These are comedy romance movies if you strip away Spiderman.
I like the Spiderman MCU movies more than The Amazing Spiderman movies, but at least TASM series took risk and from time to time and had emotional impact. Unfortunately a lot of the risk they did take didn’t really work in my opinion, but there’s honestly more integrity to TASM movies, even if they are the worst still.
In my opinion the original Spiderman trilogy beats out the other movies in nearly every category. The only argument against the trilogy that I even agree with a little is that “Peter Parker doesn’t feel like a high schooler.” I can agree with that, but it doesn’t really bother me at all since Peter is only in high school for the first half of the first film. The original Spiderman trilogy is more about an adult Peter, and I like that way more personally.
Idk just my opinion though, I like all the Spiderman movies to a certain extent.

The results of this seem pretty fair to me. There’s not really much to choose between the Raimi and MCU Spider-Man films. Personally I prefer the MCU ones because they have the perfect version of Spider-Man in Tom Holland and I appreciate that they are trying to do something different to the other Spider-Man films, but I like the Raimi films too.
LOTR vs Hobbit showdown or ranking and an Indiana Jones ranking video would be great. Interested to here your script idea for the fifth movie as well
