Spider-Man losing his powers is my favorite aspect of Spider-Man 2 imo. It’s probably the most I’ve ever related to a comic book movie, you see Peter constantly kicked down and beaten by everyone around him, which causes him to start doubting himself and not being able to move forward. The way they handled it imo is some of the most human storytelling in a comic book movie.
i like spiderman 1 more because of the nostalgia but raimi movie give me something that not other superhero movie give me ,the music the vilain ,aunt may strong moment when she talk to peter , spiderman 2 is perfect epic ,spiderman 1 &2 are my best superhero movie nothing can beat that (srry for my english i’m french )
100% agree. There isn’t a single one that I don’t like, I even think Morbius is ok (mainly because I waited about a year to watch it and my expectations were so low)
The way you feel about Spider-Man 2002 and how important it is to you is very similar to my feelings for Zack Snyders Justice League. A week before it came out my grandmother essentially started dying from covid-related issues, and because of the lockdown at the time I couldn’t go to see her. I hadn’t even talked to her in person for over a year because of the lockdown, so I was obviously in a really bad place. And at the same time, the Snyder cut was coming out. I was so unbelievably excited to see it and it gave me a chance to escape the awful situation my family was in for 4 hours and watch my childhood heroes band together in such a satisfying way. My grandmother died the day after it released so my excitement was short lived but I’ll never forget how happy I was for those 4 hours
Regarding what you said about how Spider-Man 2002 was an important film that helped you during a tough time, Spider-Man NWH was similar. I was a victim of school violence and was going through a deep feeling of anxiety and depression and overwhelming PTSD. Seeing those three Spider-Men team up and the iconic characters from my childhood finally returning on the big screen put a big smile on my face and helped me escape my crappy life for a little while. I’m glad movies exist to be a form of escapism and that’s why I love movies and your channel so much
@@mr.movienerd3310 Hey there, I'm glad to hear the update! I wanted to share a Scripture passage that you might find tremendously helpful and encouraging: "Come unto me [Jesus], all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls" (Matt. 11:28-29).
@@angelt.5276 I'm confused how is this encouraging/helpful? Like, I'm all for book quotes but this quote doesn't really seem to be super comforting, it's just about jesus being like "hey if I was alive I'd teach you how to be cool" Like, there are plenty of great book quotes to comfort people, and even some from all those different headcanons about jesus yall are into, but that one really doesn't say much

@@filmnationstudios389A producer has confirmed that the movie is in still getting steadily worked on through the very tough situation they're in, and they'll take all the time they need to make it a proper conclusion. That's why it was "indefinitely delayed", they'll make it as perfect as possible even if it means it'll take 10 years to work out all of the kinks. I'm sure the higher ups won't try to interfere with Lord and Miller after the colossal financial and critical acclaim ATSV got them.
My favorites are the films with Tobey Maguire. In addition to Tobey being the definitive Spider-Man, imo, his films also had the two best Spider-Man movie villains (Willem Dafoe's Goblin and Alfred Molina's Doc Ock). Also, the Morbius film is a huge guilty pleasure for me, because of my interest in vampires.
@@The_MEMEphis It's true that he didn't really look like a highschooler, but that didn't hurt his performance for me. Also, I thought he was more believable as a highschooler than Andrew Garfield was.
I absolutely loved Spiderman into the Spider verse it has a good story, emotional moments, had good music, and had really good villains definitely s to me

Respectable since you don't hate anything, same with me except for the Venom 1 and Morbius Edit: but no way the Venom movies are better then the TASM movies and Spider Man 3
Venom from SM3 was something that straight came out of hell. As a kid he freaked me out but I loved him way more than Sandman or Goblin. Just watching my hero in black suit and becoming a menace was as cool as anything during those times
Just watched the movie, and I gotta say best spidey film. I love how the cameos don't ruin the story. The film has made me want more ! It was a beautiful film
This movie was simply fantastic from top to bottom, never did I think the Into the Spider-Verse could be topped in terms of story, animation, and overall hype. Yet here I am buying my second IMAX ticket to see this film again! I reviewed the film on my channel with my colleagues, and I feel the same exact way going in for my third watch as I did for my initial one in terms of enjoyment. THE BAR FOR ANIMATED FILMS HAS BEEN RAISED AGAIN!!

No one likes when Spider-Man loses his powers; however, you cannot deny that everyone LOVES his triumphant return, which ties the whole storyline up in a nice little bow.
Across the Spiderverse proves why animated movies deserve more recognition at the Oscars. There are just things that live-action movies cant do in how they visually show emotion. So much so to the point that my mouth was covered for the last 30 min of the movie. The betrayal, the cliffhanger...wow.
Always love watching you talking about Spider-Man 2. You and Martin from Double toasted are like the only ones who feel the same way about Spider-Man losing his powers as I do lol

Spider-Man 2 (my favorite comic book movie ever)
I have the hottest take being i think TASM 2 is the best film. I have a lot of nostalgia for it and i really wish Andrew Garfield got more love back then. He’s a great Spider-Man and some people couldn’t separate their feelings on the writing from the actors themselves. I would still love a third film showing the times his spider man stopped “pulling his punches” like he said in No Way Home
#MakeTASM3. Andrew Garfield was always loved then Tom Holland. Tom Holland gets more hate then Andrew Garfield. I agree TASM 2 is good but I wouldn't say masterpiece
I can see where you're coming from, though the movie was objectively a bit of a disaster in production. The acting is similarly good to the first movie, and Andrew is still underappreciated for how good his iteration is, but the cut content and the two major villains, Electro and Harry, were just straight up not designed nor handled well.
@@phud69 it's not bad but definitely flawed. TASM 2 got everything right except for plot and remove Green Goblin and Rhino. Electro design is comic accurate to the ultimate comics. Apparently they originally had a good script but after when Sony announces the cinematic universe centered on TASM they rewrote the script and did reshoots. They should have given Electro more focus.
Agreed. I’ve seen every Spider-Man in theaters and I thought Andrew was far more natural than Tobey. Tobey was a bit too monotoned and cried far too much.
I saw both in theaters. Left the original one jumping in excitement. Saw it 5 more times in theaters. When leaving TASM I felt like I watched a poor re run. I did like Garfield, but the film didn’t do a good enough job proving why it existed
@@thebalderthor4884 Yep. For me Maguire's acting is the worst as Spider-Man. I cant really bring myself to watch the originals again because of the awkward acting (which imo both Dunst and Franco also had)

I absolutely love Spiderman no way home I loved seeing Tobey Andrew and there awesome villains back. Green goblin was a standout and Aunt mays death was really emotional I give it a high s
I would say this is my current rating for Spider-man movies 1) Across the Spider-verse (masterpiece) 2) Into the Spider-verse (masterpiece) 3) No Way Home (a lot of fan service and nostalgia, still love it because I feel it works) 4) Spider-man 2 (amazing movie, will always have a special place in my heart) 5) Spider-Man (first Spider-Man movie I grew up with and absolutely adore it) 6) Far from Home (felt they did Mysterio really well and I really like this film) 7) Homecoming (simple story, but was a nice change of pace) 8) Amazing Spider-man (liked this film when I first saw it, not sure now, but feel like I should give it another chance) 9) Spider-man 3 (guilty pleasure with a some pretty great moments) 10) Amazing Spider-Man 2 (waster potential and full on sequel bait) 11) Venom and Venom 2 (I liked them well enough, but they could have been so much more and they did Carnage so dirty in my book) 12) Morbius (the most movie of all time, but jokes aside, very boring and very forgettable, not worth the watch)

In SM2 I dont think he was actually losing his powers. He just really didnt want to be Spider-Man anymore and wasnt focused on it. He always had them in there. Just didnt wanna be bothered with it anymore because it was ruining his life. I thought it was a great story and its still the #1 Spider-Man film
Is it safe to say, Across The Spider-Verse is Sean's favorite film of 2023? Or is it still GotG Vol. 3 or Air? For me, it's still Air. I'm a bigger Jordan and Nike fan than superhero movies fan.

Always had a love for Spider-Man 3. Quick story here: my grandmother used to send me and my siblings gift boxes from wherever she was vacationing. I got horrified by the thumbnail, where Across The Spider-verse was in A Tier. I could definitely see where you were coming from, though. The first one was a fantastic origin story that has the exciting third act, while the sequel leaves off with the setup to the third film releasing next year. Its like this flaw you can consider because movies should have that climax/ third act, but this one still accomplished great things and ended up being a perfect sequel. I wasn't only relieved when you placed it in S Tier, but it felt so nice when you even placed it above the first Spider-verse. This means it is one of your favorite comic book movies off all time and in your top 10 list for your favorite animated movies of all time!
Imo, it has a climax. The climax is Gwen finally coming back from running away from her problems with her dad. There is a reason Gwen is the one that starts and ends the movie.
@@lightedtwice Technically it does, but it feels like a cliffhanger because things are ABOUT to happen. Infinity War didn't feel like a cliffhanger because it wasn't Thanos ABOUT to snap. He did it. This movie ends with a bunch of abouts: Spot about to destroy Miles universe, Miles about to escape his Earth, Gwen about to rescue him.
I still don’t understand the distaste for Far From Home. It’s the 6th best MCU movie to me, I need an updated video of Sean talking about it, cause he doesn’t really go into issues that would cause it to be so low in his original review
ALL 13 Spider-Man Films Ranked 1. No Way Home 2. Across the Spider-Verse 3. Spider-Man 2 4. Into the Spider-Verse 5. Spider-Man 6. Far From Home 7. The Amazing Spider-Man 8. Homecoming 9. Spider-Man 3 10. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 11. Let There Be Carnage 12. Venom 13. Morbius
Man I saw the thumbnail, and thought you were gonna get destroyed by the comments. But actually a fantastic video as always, with extremely excellent commentary.
Here’s my ranking 13. Morbius-While it’s relatively harmless, it’s still a movie that was bad enough that it was rather funny to call it a Morbin’ masterpiece that made morbillions of dollars 12. The Amazing Spider-Man 2-Even though I can still have an okay time with this film, this is a movie that has an incredibly unfocused amount of plotlines and characters, which makes it feel like a very long commercial for a bunch of Spider-Man products instead of an actual movie 11. Spider-Man: Far From Home-There’s quite a bit of entertainment value here, but that entertainment value is built on a story and motivations that don’t make any sense 10. Venom-I can’t say that this is an overall good movie with its structure or story, but it does a good enough job at delivering superficial entertainment, so I have a decent time with this one 9. Spider-Man 3-This movie has several flaws, but because I love the other two movies in this trilogy, I’ve always enjoyed this movie for closing out Raimi’s trilogy in a solid way for me personally 8. Venom: Let There Be Carnage-Much like the first Venom film, this movie is very much delivering superficial superhero entertainment, but I think it does a better job at being superficial entertainment a good bit better than the first Venom 7. The Amazing Spider-Man-As much as I’ve always enjoyed this movie, I’ve also always thought that it struggles a bit to find its own identity in its story elements, structure, and characters As a point of reference, I would go extremely positive on the rest of the movies on this list. So if your favorite isn’t even in the Top 3, I fully understand why it’s your #1. Just keep all of that in mind. 6. Spider-Man: Homecoming-A highly enjoyable refresh for the character that works its way into the MCU very well without feeling like it has the size and scope of the majority of MCU films 5. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse-Because it’s the new addition in this franchise, I’m trying to keep recency bias out of this placement, but this was still a great sequel to Into the Spider-Verse that expanded upon all of the great characters, ideas, and themes of the first film, all done with absolutely incredible animation 4. Spider-Man 2002-If you can accept a bit of camp in your superhero film, this is a really great origin story for the character of Spider-Man with a fantastic villain in Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin 3. Spider-Man: No Way Home-While the actual inciting incident may be pretty flimsy, that doesn’t stop this movie from providing incredible Spider-Man fan service and a great way to unexpectedly complete Tom Holland’s origin story as Peter Parker and Spider-Man 2. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse-An awesome superhero movie, an incredible achievement of an animated movie, a phenomenal Spider-Man movie, and just an overall fantastic movie that I love every time I watch it 1. Spider-Man 2-When you put it all together, it has a great score from Danny Elfman, a fantastic villain, a great finale, fantastic action, an incredible train sequence, and a phenomenal character journey for Peter, which makes for a perfect sequel, my second favorite comic book movie, and one of my Top 10 Favorite Movies of All Time
The first Spider-man movie is at best good in my opinion. Spider-man 2 however is not only a top tier Spider-man movie, it's one of the best super hero films of all time. I'm not sure if Spider-man 1 would even make it into my top 20 super hero films.
Sean, do you think Across the spider-verse is better than into the spider-verse, or a slight step down? For me, they are both tied for my second favorite movie of all time. Miles and Gwen are my 2 favorite comic book characters and they are also both tied for my second favorite character in any film.
I'm only including the live action movies. 8. The Amazing Spider-Man 2: It's not bad, but it's the least compelling one and Gwen's death was HARD hitting so it gets points for me. 7. Homecoming: Every time I watch this I get distracted so I think it might be the least memorable but still compelling one and Vulture was great. 6. The Amazing Spider-Man: It's good, just not as good as the top 5. 5. Far From Home: The 2nd funniest one and one of the funniest MCU movies. Mysterio was a great twist villain and the ending was shocking. 4. Spider-Man: It's great but it's not as hilarious. Green Goblin is a terrifying meme machine though. 3. Spider-Man 2: It's funnier and more memorable but Peter losing his powers is not sensible. 2. Spider-Man 3: This is just because of the memes. #BullyMaguire #Drivethatfunkysoul 1. No Way Home: One of my favorite movie experiences and I love Tobey and Andrew's return and the ending was slightly more gutwrenching than Endgame.
I feel like Far From Home is one of the most overhated MCU movies. It’s a really fun movie with great characters and arcs and while there are admittedly a few weird moments, people exaggerate them a lot. (although the scene where the woman tells Peter to take off his clothes was really weird). And a lot of people point to the drone strike thing as a bad part of the movie, but i see it as a way to further show how Peter messes up when he’s trying to be like iron man. Using the glasses to get what he wants is what starts the problem, and it’s only fixed when he uses something uniquely spider-man: his webs. The scene also makes Peter think that he doesn’t deserve the glasses if he almost hurt people, making the scene where he gives Beck the glasses make even more sense
My personal list would be: - Across The Spiderverse 10/10 - Into The Spiderverse 10/10 - Spider Man 2 - 9/10 - Homecoming - 8/10 - Spider Man - 8/10 - Far From Home - 7/10 - No Way Home - 6/10 - Spider Man 3 - 6/10 - Amazing Spider Man - 5/10 - Amazing Spider Man 2 - 3/10 - Venom Let There Be Carnage - 2/10 - Venom - 2/10 Haven't watched Morbius but it would probably be at the top ;)
Most will probably disagree with me, but the Sam Rami trilogy is overrated. 1. Across the Spider-Verse 9.5/10 (I found it a tad bit long, but overall an amazing film, it improved on a lot from Into the Spider-Verse. Nearly flawless, and probably my new favorite.) 2. Into the Spider-Verse 9/10 (I never found it to be perfect, but I really really love this movie.) 3. No Way Home 8.5/10 (Good but slightly overrated) 4. Spider-Man 2 8.5/10 (Same as NWH, but lower, plus I really don’t like MJ’s character.) 5. TASM 8.5/10 (I really really love this movie, and find it to be extremely underrated. Even if the movie has its problems, I just like it more than some of the other movies. The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic, I love the tone of the film, also an unpopular opinion but, I like the suit. Andrew Garfield is also my favorite Spider-Man, and I love Gwen Stacy’s character. I could definitely do without the parents subplot though.) 6. Far From Home 8/10 (Pretty good, also underrated.) 7. Spider-Man 7.5/10 (I definitely find this overrated, but overall it’s still a good movie. MJ is slightly better here, but I still don’t like her.) 8. Homecoming 7.5/10 (Good, but could’ve been better) 9. Spider-Man 3 6.5/10 (Underrated, but definitely could’ve been better, this is also the worst MJ has been, I really do not like her at all, it’s mostly due to writing and not Kirsten Dunst.) 10. Venom 6/10 (The movie may not be that great, and it’s way too silly from what the trailers portrayed, but I really do enjoy watching it.) 11. TASM 2 6/10 (I don’t think the first half is that bad, the later half though is not that great. I also hate these portrayals of Green goblin and Electro so much. And the parents subplot is worse here due to the fact that it’s a lot more prominent compared to the first movie. Even with these problems I do still enjoy watching it, especially due to The fact that Andrew Garfield is my favorite Spider-Man. Andrew and Emma do an amazing job. This is also the best looking live action Spider-Man movie to date.) 12. Venom: Let There be Carnage 4/10 (I was really expecting more out of this movie especially with Carnage, I really like Woody Harrelson, but it’s way too goofy and stupid. I just was hoping for something darker, which is crazy considering Venom 1 was slightly darker, it doesn’t work for me. It’s the worst movie in the franchise (since I’ve never watched Morbius) but even then I can just turn off my brain and enjoy this dumb mess. Even with some of the movies being really bad, I do still find myself at least enjoying whatever the hell is going on.
My thoughts exactly. The Raimi trilogy is insanely corny, MJ cheats on everyone, Tobey wasn’t a good choice. SPIDER-MAN IS IN HIGH SCHOOL AND THEY CAST A 26 YEAR OLD!

@Jacob Gaming I’m not sure if not watching this movie had an effect on my opinion for this movie, but while I did enjoy it, I think it’s pretty overrated
This is a pretty good teir list of all Spider-Man movies oh and also one day when you watch the new Transformers movie can you rank all of the Transformers movies including the new one once you watch it

Spider-Man Far From Home 8. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 9. The Amazing Spider-Man 10. Venom 11. Venom Let There Be Carnage

Great ranking and Across The Spider-Verse is incredible. Can't wait for Beyond The Spider-Verse and hope to get Peter 1, 2 And 3 back together with PS4 Miles.
hey Sean I just want to say I watched into the spider verse again and I want to say into the spider verse if my favorite Spider-Man movie along with nwh and I agree that spiderverses plot and overall story is better than nwh but I felt that the main protagonist (Tom’s Spider-Man) from nwh had a better character arc/story than the protagonist from into the spider verse (miles) but I felt that peter b parker has the best character arc/story than every character in both movies. Do you agree with my opinions hope you respond
There’s argument that Spiderman has the best collection of films of any comic book character. It’s either him or Batman. No one else has as many great movies. For me, Spiderman 1 and 2, both Verses, and NWH all make S tier. I used to feel similarly to you, Sean about Spider-Man 2. I didn’t like how much he was beat up emotionally in the film. But the action sequences are among the very best I’ve ever seen, and the highs are so stinking uplifting. I think it’s one of the definitive superhero movies and easy top 10 if not, top 5, in the entire genre.
I mostly agree with this! I'd have Spider-Man 2 in S-Tier though (I actually empathized with Spidey losing his powers, because he was having an identity crisis, which is something I could relate to, and I could equate to losing my confidence/mojo for a while). I'd also personally have Venom 2 in Disaster. It was too goofy for my taste, and I actually didn't like Woody Harrelson's portrayal of Cleetus Kassidy at all, like it actually took me out of it a little (he's a great actor, but I didn't think that was the role for him).
And the Eddie closet scene where the symbiote is giving the speech, though I understand why it was included with all of the social issues of today, was so, so dumb. It's a fun action movie about aliens inhabiting humans and violently tearing people apart, there doesnt need to be social equality commentary of any kind.
I wholeheartedly agree with your point about spider man 1 being your escapism but for me it was ITSV. During 2018 I was going through some major changes and watching miles morales and the different versions of spider man in that movie just made me feel so amazing. Seeing miles take the leap of faith really gave me so much strength and powerful and the movie just means so much to me. I am watching ATSV tomorow and I hope it will be just as good!
Great tier list, Mr. Chandler. I love your videos 👍 Here’s my tier list if you’re interested: S Tier - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3 Great - Spider-Man: No Way Home and Spider-Man: Homecoming Good but generic - Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage Fun but flawed - The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Morbius Disaster - The Amazing Spider-Man 2
I feel the same about Across the Spider-Verse. It's a fantastic movie (and might rank highest for me) but I can't give a max score simply because I don't know how the story ends
This is an incredible tier list! I love all the spider man movies, I don’t got a least favourite, but these are my top 5 imo: 1: Spider man No way home 2: Spider man Across the spider verse (kind of tied with Into the spider verse but still a bit better) 3: Spider Man 2 4: Spider Man 5: The amazing spider man
Of the Tom Holland films I thought Far From Home was the best one by far and then no way home then homecoming. Realising recently that its much more hated than I thought it was
my ranking 1spider man across the spider verse 2 spider man no way home 3 venom 4 spider man far form home 5 spider man into spider verse 6 spider man home coming 7 venom let there be carnage 8 the amazing spider man 9 spider man 10 spider man 2 11 the amazing spider man 2 12 spider man 3 13 mobius
Great list, Sean, and, while I disagree about Spider-Man 2 being a few spots lower from the top, I can see why the powers plot point would be something you would not find credible. Here’s my ranking (have not seen Morbius or Across the Spider-Verse yet): 1. Spider-Man 2 2. Spider-Man 3. Spider-Man: No Way Home 4. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 5. Spider-Man: Homecoming 6. Spider-Man: Far from Home 7. The Amazing Spider-Man 8. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 9. Venom: Let There Be Carnage 10. Venom 11. Spider-Man 3 (Even though it’s at the bottom for its many problems, I still like this film)
My rankings would be, from worst to best; Morbious: Do I really need to explain why this movie is absolute dogwater? Venom and Let there be Carnage: Yup, hot take incoming, both these movies are equal in terms of how terrible they are. As a Venom fan, I believe he deserves better than whatever the crap these movies were. Let there Be Carnage especially. Talk about missing the point of these characters. Venom does 0 Lethal Protection and Carnage is nothing like his character is supposed to be. Cant believe I'm gonna say this, Topher Grace did a more comic accurate portrayal of Eddie Brock/Venom than the Venom movies did. The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Let's take what didn't work about Sam Raimis Spider-Man 3 and let's do it worse and more boring. I feel the Andrew and Emma scenes go way too long and are too cute for their own good, even though I do like their chemistry better than the "romance" story from the Sam Raimi movies. I find Dane Dehaans portrayal of Harry Osborn boring and lame, his Green Goblin somehow looks worse than the party city look of the Raimi films and Electro is such an inconsistent villain and absolutely the worst villain in the Spider-Man films to date. Actually, scratch that. He's bad, but at least he has screen time. Can't say the same for Rhino, waste of marketing and space that was. Spider-Man Far From Home: the weakest of the MCU movies, I feel this movie relies too much on the whole Tony Stark is gone and don't move on from that. Making Mysterio another villain that has beef with Stark, has no impact since the guy he has beef with is dead. That being said there are some entertaining action set pieces that really take advantage of Mysterio as a character. The Amazing Spider-Man: Not a big fan of this one, mainly because the first act and 1st half of the 2nd act feel like repeat from what we've already seen and not doing it in a fun way. There are some entertaining moments and Andrew Garfield was always a fun Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The Lizard had potential as an antagonist but unfortunately, as Sony was willing to do they messed with someone else's movie and cut scenes and content that would have made his motivation more understandable and sympathetic, unfortunately he devolves into another generic villain with an absolutely stupid plan. Spider-Man 3: Total guilty pleasure. This movie makes me smile. I love the campyness, I love the action set pieces and as a Venom fan, I was happy seeing him in live action for the first time. The movies a mess in terms of storytelling and structure though. Spider-Man: Sam Raimis first foray into comic adaptations and his first foray into the world of Spider-Man, this movie hits all the right campy notes to be fun and it's pacing and structure set a standard for superhero origin stories adapted to the big screen. This movie was such a landmark that every superhero movie that came out in the early to late 2000s tried to copy its formula... to... very strange results. But you can't beat the classic. Spider-Man Homecoming: Fun fresh and with new ideas brought in to make it a fun ride. Tom Holland is great as this incarnation of Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Michael Keatons Vulture was better than it had any right to be. Spider-Man 2: Sam Raimis 2nd film in my opinion gets this high on the list not just because it's great, well paced, has an amazing villain with doc ock and introduces a great conflict for the hero... its because of that dang Train fight scene. Still my favorite Spider-Man fight scene to this day. Spider-Man No Way Home: Great conflict, Amazing returning characters and actors, reprising their roles and knocking them out of the park better than they did in their original performances. Even with this in mind, it does something many movies like this fail and buckle under the pressure and that is, its still Tom Hollands movie. He goes through a great conflict, a great character are and above all else, there's consequences to his choices and actions. It left me excited for the future of this iteration of Spider-Man. I may be on a MCU fatigue, but I'll always be there for Spider-Man. And my Number 1 favorite Spider-Man movie is; Into the Spider Verse and Across the Spider Verse. Was there ever any doubt? These movies are easily some of my favorite animated movies of all time. The first film introduced a new way of doing animation, to the point that other have started using similar techniques for their films, like Puss in Boots the last wish and the new TMNT film coming out later this year. Across the Spider Verse meanwhile, what a film. The only word that best describes it is Amazing. I thought I could predict everything that was gonna happen, but the movie surprised me at every turn. And the fact the movie feels like its just the first act and the first half of the 2nd act of a story makes me so excited for the next film. I can't wait for Beyond the Spider Verse.
As a 21 year old that was obsessed with Raimi films 1. Spider-Man 2 masterpiece, hits even harder as a young adult 2. Across the Spider-verse amazing film can’t even describe how great it is. 3. Into the Spider-verse 4. Spider-Man 1 classic 5. Far from home over hated No way home is highly overrated to me and honestly so disappointing, the writing is terrible feels like a cash grab and it doesn’t even look good in terms of cgi
S tier - Spider-Man 2 (the greatest CBM of all time), Across the Spider-Verse, Into the Spider-Verse Great - Spider-Man, TASM1 Good but generic - Spider-Man 3, TASM2, No Way Home Fun but flawed - Homecoming, Far From Home
Hey at least the gave more attention to villains such as Spot, Prowler or Lizard - who are a bit overlooked - instead of the same antagonists over and over again

Seeing those three Spider-Men team up and the iconic characters from my childhood finally returning on the big screen put a big smile on my face and helped me escape my crappy life for a little while. Across the Spiderverse proves why animated movies deserve more recognition at the Oscars. There are just things that live-action movies cant do in how they visually show emotion. So much so to the point that my mouth was covered for the last 30 min of the movie. The betrayal, the cliffhanger...wow.

Personally I enjoyed the first Amazing Spider-Man over the first Spider-Man film back in 2002.
Agreed. I’ve seen every Spider-Man in theaters and I thought Andrew was far more natural than Tobey. Tobey was a bit too monotoned and cried far too much.

6) Far from Home (felt they did Mysterio really well and I really like this film)
7) Homecoming (simple story, but was a nice change of pace)
8) Amazing Spider-man (liked this film when I first saw it, not sure now, but feel like I should give it another chance)
9) Spider-man 3 (guilty pleasure with a some pretty great moments)
10) Amazing Spider-Man 2 (waster potential and full on sequel bait)
11) Venom and Venom 2 (I liked them well enough, but they could have been so much more and they did Carnage so dirty in my book)
12) Morbius (the most movie of all time, but jokes aside, very boring and very forgettable, not worth the watch)
Fun video! Thanks for keeping me entertained!

I honestly think it’s way better than the first film. I just think people are nostalgic for it.
It’s literally the greatest CBM ever and this guy sticks it in the A tier 💀
Is it safe to say, Across The Spider-Verse is Sean's favorite film of 2023? Or is it still GotG Vol. 3 or Air? For me, it's still Air. I'm a bigger Jordan and Nike fan than superhero movies fan.
It’s inches out Air
Guardians is In 3rd

No way the Venom movies are better then the TASM movies and Spider Man 3.
Edit: no way Homecoming is the best of the best and it's not a masterpiece. Spider Verse movies, Raimi's first 2 movies, No Way Home, and TASM 1 are better then Homecoming
Always had a love for Spider-Man 3. Quick story here: my grandmother used to send me and my siblings gift boxes from wherever she was vacationing. She sent me the DVD of this and I would watch it on repeat. She sadly passed shortly after. The movie isn’t great by any means but I do have a soft spot for it

Haha.
Imo, it has a climax. The climax is Gwen finally coming back from running away from her problems with her dad. There is a reason Gwen is the one that starts and ends the movie.
Isn't it being in A still a good thing?
I thought the first venom movie was okay I didn't like the villain though I give it a c

Man I saw the thumbnail, and thought you were gonna get destroyed by the comments. But actually a fantastic video as always, with extremely excellent commentary.
Here’s my ranking
13. Morbius-While it’s relatively harmless, it’s still a movie that was bad enough that it was rather funny to call it a Morbin’ masterpiece that made morbillions of dollars
12. The Amazing Spider-Man 2-Even though I can still have an okay time with this film, this is a movie that has an incredibly unfocused amount of plotlines and characters, which makes it feel like a very long commercial for a bunch of Spider-Man products instead of an actual movie
11. Spider-Man: Far From Home-There’s quite a bit of entertainment value here, but that entertainment value is built on a story and motivations that don’t make any sense
10. Venom-I can’t say that this is an overall good movie with its structure or story, but it does a good enough job at delivering superficial entertainment, so I have a decent time with this one
9. Spider-Man 3-This movie has several flaws, but because I love the other two movies in this trilogy, I’ve always enjoyed this movie for closing out Raimi’s trilogy in a solid way for me personally
8. Venom: Let There Be Carnage-Much like the first Venom film, this movie is very much delivering superficial superhero entertainment, but I think it does a better job at being superficial entertainment a good bit better than the first Venom
7. The Amazing Spider-Man-As much as I’ve always enjoyed this movie, I’ve also always thought that it struggles a bit to find its own identity in its story elements, structure, and characters
As a point of reference, I would go extremely positive on the rest of the movies on this list. So if your favorite isn’t even in the Top 3, I fully understand why it’s your #1. Just keep all of that in mind.
6. Spider-Man: Homecoming-A highly enjoyable refresh for the character that works its way into the MCU very well without feeling like it has the size and scope of the majority of MCU films
5. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse-Because it’s the new addition in this franchise, I’m trying to keep recency bias out of this placement, but this was still a great sequel to Into the Spider-Verse that expanded upon all of the great characters, ideas, and themes of the first film, all done with absolutely incredible animation
4. Spider-Man 2002-If you can accept a bit of camp in your superhero film, this is a really great origin story for the character of Spider-Man with a fantastic villain in Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin
3. Spider-Man: No Way Home-While the actual inciting incident may be pretty flimsy, that doesn’t stop this movie from providing incredible Spider-Man fan service and a great way to unexpectedly complete Tom Holland’s origin story as Peter Parker and Spider-Man
2. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse-An awesome superhero movie, an incredible achievement of an animated movie, a phenomenal Spider-Man movie, and just an overall fantastic movie that I love every time I watch it
I need to see beyond the spider-verse to decide
I agree
Can you guess what my favorite movie is. My favorite character is the main character of that movie. Hint: It has Keanu reeves in it
@@b.money78 John wick or matrix?
@@rexparker0623 matrix. But John wick is close
#BullyMaguire #Drivethatfunkysoul
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have top notch chemistry. Seeing them both on screen together made me realize I was bisexual. 🤣
Spider Man 2 is definitely better than the first its less cliche and doesn’t feel as dated also the VFX hold up better
My personal list would be:
- Across The Spiderverse 10/10
- Into The Spiderverse 10/10
- Spider Man 2 - 9/10
- Homecoming - 8/10
- Spider Man - 8/10
- Far From Home - 7/10
- No Way Home - 6/10
- Spider Man 3 - 6/10
- Amazing Spider Man - 5/10
- Amazing Spider Man 2 - 3/10
- Venom Let There Be Carnage - 2/10
- Venom - 2/10
Haven't watched Morbius but it would probably be at the top ;)
Why are tasm and tasm2 bad fr you
Most will probably disagree with me, but the Sam Rami trilogy is overrated.
1. Across the Spider-Verse 9.5/10 (I found it a tad bit long, but overall an amazing film, it improved on a lot from Into the Spider-Verse. Nearly flawless, and probably my new favorite.)
2. Into the Spider-Verse 9/10 (I never found it to be perfect, but I really really love this movie.)
3. No Way Home 8.5/10 (Good but slightly overrated)
4. Spider-Man 2 8.5/10 (Same as NWH, but lower, plus I really don’t like MJ’s character.)
5. I could definitely do without the parents subplot though.)
6. Far From Home 8/10 (Pretty good, also underrated.)
7. Spider-Man 7.5/10 (I definitely find this overrated, but overall it’s still a good movie. MJ is slightly better here, but I still don’t like her.)
8. Homecoming 7.5/10 (Good, but could’ve been better)
9. Spider-Man 3 6.5/10 (Underrated, but definitely could’ve been better, this is also the worst MJ has been, I really do not like her at all, it’s mostly due to writing and not Kirsten Dunst.)
10. Venom 6/10 (The movie may not be that great, and it’s way too silly from what the trailers portrayed, but I really do enjoy watching it.)
11. This is also the best looking live action Spider-Man movie to date.)

Just a great video!!! Please do more tier lists! (I’m biased but specifically do a Batman tier list)
Best films: morbius for memes
Spider man trilogy with Tobey maguire for memes too
And Andrew Garfield for acting and visuals
Great tier list, Mr. Chandler. I love your videos 👍
Here’s my tier list if you’re interested:
S Tier - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3
Great - Spider-Man: No Way Home and Spider-Man: Homecoming
Good but generic - Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Fun but flawed - The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Morbius
Disaster - The Amazing Spider-Man 2
I feel the same about Across the Spider-Verse. It's a fantastic movie (and might rank highest for me) but I can't give a max score simply because I don't know how the story ends
The amazing spider man 1 is honestly one of my favorite spider men movies tbh
This is an incredible tier list! I love all the spider man movies, I don’t got a least favourite, but these are my top 5 imo:
1: Spider man No way home
2: Spider man Across the spider verse (kind of tied with Into the spider verse but still a bit better)
3: Spider Man 2
4: Spider Man
5: The amazing spider man
Of the Tom Holland films I thought Far From Home was the best one by far and then no way home then homecoming. Realising recently that its much more hated than I thought it was
my ranking
1spider man across the spider verse
2 spider man no way home
3 venom
4 spider man far form home
5 spider man into spider verse
6 spider man home coming
7 venom let there be carnage
8 the amazing spider man
9 spider man
10 spider man 2
11 the amazing spider man 2
12 spider man 3
13 mobius
Great list, Sean, and, while I disagree about Spider-Man 2 being a few spots lower from the top, I can see why the powers plot point would be something you would not find credible. Here’s my ranking (have not seen Morbius or Across the Spider-Verse yet):
1. Spider-Man 2
2. Spider-Man
3. Spider-Man: No Way Home
4. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
5. Spider-Man: Homecoming
6. Spider-Man: Far from Home
7. The Amazing Spider-Man
8. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
9. Venom: Let There Be Carnage
10. Venom
11. Spider-Man 3 (Even though it’s at the bottom for its many problems, I still like this film)
At least you don't hate any of them. Same here with me. Except for Venom and Morbius I hate
My rankings would be, from worst to best;
Morbious: Do I really need to explain why this movie is absolute dogwater?
And my Number 1 favorite Spider-Man movie is;
Into the Spider Verse and Across the Spider Verse.
18:04 this is the moment I was waiting for. Never change Sean 🤣
As a 21 year old that was obsessed with Raimi films
1. Spider-Man 2 masterpiece, hits even harder as a young adult
2. Across the Spider-verse amazing film can’t even describe how great it is.
3. Into the Spider-verse
4. Spider-Man 1 classic
5. Far from home over hated
No way home is highly overrated to me and honestly so disappointing, the writing is terrible feels like a cash grab and it doesn’t even look good in terms of cgi
S tier - Spider-Man 2 (the greatest CBM of all time), Across the Spider-Verse, Into the Spider-Verse
Great - Spider-Man, TASM1
Good but generic - Spider-Man 3, TASM2, No Way Home
Fun but flawed - Homecoming, Far From Home
My eardrums nearly ruptured when you played Nickelback…..thank goodness it was brief.
WHOA WHOA WHOA
That was NOT Nickelback. It was Chad from Nickelback with the singer from Saliva. It is NOT a Nickleback song!
Hey at least the gave more attention to villains such as Spot, Prowler or Lizard - who are a bit overlooked - instead of the same antagonists over and over again
At 18:40 Sean you are absolutely right and that scene made me so uncomfortable when I first watched the movie
I have always thought Far From Home is underrated and have always preferred it to Homecoming.
i dislike both of them but i dislike homecoming more, felt bored the whole movie
