    Hi Coley. I did the same thing in 2018/19. I had yarn stashed all over the house and when I got it all collected and in one spot, I was amazed at all the yarn I had. I really had no idea that I had bought that much yarn. It took me back to my organizing. I loved watching this episode.

    Ooo love the set up. I never thought of adding drawers instead of shelves. And you can still see everything because they are mesh. Thank you for the inspiration. Love it!

      Thank you! I saw someone on instagram with the mesh drawers and I thought it was genius, for exactly those reasons. Thank you for watching.

    Dear Coley; How ironic I should find your video a few days after I began an organization project of my own. I added 30 stash entries to my Ravelry page and updated my quatities for sale. Boxed up lower quality yarn and 14" straight needles for donation. Also did some frogging with more to come. I love doing this; it makes me aware of what I already have for future projects. It is a nice surpise to locate yarn I forgot I had. Thanks for this great inspirational video; you have given me some great ideas for continuing my process. Take Care and Happy Knitting. ~ Lori ~

    the green yarn you used for your seasons is so beautiful!!! i love variegated yarn so much, even for big projects. seeing the way flecks of color pool together makes otherwise simple projects so much more fun for me! i love your energy and i'm so excited for the de-stash :)

    would have loved to see your planned patterns just a little bit longer, since I wasn’t able to see and read everything in the couple of seconds you showed them to us - maybe just as a suggestion for another video in the future! I love organizing videos and obviously yarn so I loved this video, Coley! ☺️🫶🏻

    As per the digital organisation - I’m more of a Ravelry user (read: I’m lazy and don’t want to do any extra work) but it was so satisfying to peek into your Notion setup. Looks great and so tailored to you 👏

    You were RIGHT. Notion. Queen. 👑 I hadn’t heard of it before and thought you meant knitting notions. 🙈 but I’m thinking of starting an (audio) podcast with family (not about knitting or yarn. They don’t knit) and was thinking notion might have a lot of great applications for that and my ever expanding stash. You have beautiful yarns in your stash and great WIPS! I’m also in the process of deciding to frog my outline tank. It was my first garment knit and just assumed that the open stitches were yarn overs. And the gauge has def changed since my first pair of crap needles from Amazon to when I upgraded to knit pros. But now I’m worried that the fit might not be great for me either I’m plus sized but not very chesty so I thought I might get away with it. I’ll def need to reevaluate. Great video! Can’t wait to watch more! 💜💜

    I finally put the yarns and pattern to go with it in their “kit”…i.e. ziplock bag. Those are then in bins, easy to grab the next project. Also keep all tools in rolling totes (Joann’s). Life is far less anxiety-laden.

    I feel like our interests have followed similar timelines! You were putting out tattoo content when I was researching tattoos, book content when I set my reading goal to be 100 books in one year, and now knitting content when I’m swimming in yarn! I’m hoping this knit era is a bad influence on my wallet 😂

    Great job. You have inspired me to frog my half and half. I had the same reaction to the project and yarn. I really enjoy using the purl soho merino fingering and might try that. The colors are lovely. But the linen quill is uncomfortable in my hands. I would love to know where to find a cabinet like yours. I am looking for a glass door cabinet with shelves and small footprint.

    • @BonjourColey

      Thank you! Yes I also found the linen quill super uncomfortable to knit with. Life's too short to knit stuff that isn't sparking joy! My cabinet is from Ikea! It's a shorter billy bookcase with the Högbo doors.

    i realise this may sound judgy so i want to say i mean this with so judgment whatsoever: how do you buy yarn without knowing what to use it for? how do you know how much to buy? when i see random yarn i like i never buy it because i dont know what i will use it for. can someone please explain their thought proccess so i can maybe also by random yarn i like?

    • @BonjourColey
      @BonjourColey  Год назад +1

      I personally try and not do it often, I always try and go into it with a plan. Sometimes though I buy yarn for a project idea and match the yardage to that, and then change my mind and don't want to knit that pattern anymore. In general though, I know roughly the average yardage it takes me for a plain stockinette sweater and I will base it off of that!
