I will be a F1 next year and this was something that i definitely needed....thank you so much for these valuable advice!!!Keep them coming!! Hope to see more of your videos!!!
Hi Priya, I'm so glad this was useful for you! Transitioning to FY1 is definitely a learning curve but everyone is super supportive :) lots more videos coming - will be putting one out about applying to the Foundation Programme so hope it'll be useful for you!
Thank you for sharing your frank and candid account of the realities of being a junior doctor. I have been through this rite of passage in the late 80s. I am now a GP. How has the pandemic affected you and your job in the NHS?
Hey Tilly, I'm so glad you that you found the video useful 😊 applying to medical school can certainly be daunting but it's worth it if you want to do it in the long run! Best of luck and feel free to stick around to ask any questions - I'll try make a video sharing my med school applications experience after the New Years too!
@@mattbklee YES PLEASE! That would be great. I literally want as much info as poss :) Have you always known you wanted to do medicine because I worry that since it's taken me a while to pursue that I'm making the wrong decision...
Hi matt, I wanted to ask, when you are progressing from foundation years -> SHO -> registrar -> consultant does the work life balance get better? (if you know) This has always been something that I have thought a lot about and just want to know whether its my thinking is realistic in that you grind out the junior years to get to consultancy to have a bit of an easier life? Or does it stay at the same intensity (long hours, lots of nights). Thanks!
This video is so REAL. Thank you for putting this out here.
Can't agree more! As a fellow FY1 I can completely relate to this :) Very useful material for upcoming doctors. Keep up the good work!
