I got a 2012 Kia soul that is absolutely amazing. It did have a recall for like 10 months with no remedy but I just drove it as my personal car and rented out my other car. Now the remedy has been fixed and people love renting it. Not sure I'd buy another Kia unless it was a great deal but the one I have is awesome.
I've got 5 cars listed. Dynamic pricing, automatic trip changes, and Turo taking a cut out of Extra's is really frustrating. DP massively undervalued my Cadillac's, guests can just change their trip to avoid late return charges, and there's no justification for Turo getting a cut out of prepaid fuel or unlimited mileage.
Another great video! I personally stay away from Hyundai and Kia vehicles. But at least you have those warranties! New engine will allow you to be able to rent it even longer. Hope it works out for you bro! 3 cars is my limit at the moment... moving into real estate. Keep it rolling!
Appreciate you watching Jay! Yeah, i usually stayed away from them as well. Just thought a newer model + a 7-seater SUV would kill. Good luck on your real estate journey, love that! 🫡💯
I heard that bro, but realistically it’s no way you can prevent someone from doing what they want in your vehicle. Either gotta accept it comes with the game or try something else.
Thanks for watching. Honestly bro, I advise you to watch all my videos, absorb the good & the bad about the platform, & try to make an educated decision based on your own situation & resources at hand.
Also, if you can, start with low-end economy cars opposed to going out to finance cars immediately. A lot less financial risk that way if things don’t work out.
Appreciate you good brother in Fort Lauderdale ready to pull the trigger got the LLC in place but on the rope lol but respect your videos no error me catching them . Stay Up n Thanks for all you do Blessings 🙏🏾💪🏾
@@Ralphmeansbizevery business has some risks, no matter how small. But recent Turo pricing policy isn't doing hosts any favors either. Thinking to dump my fleet.
Ralph, I have been watching you for a while!! I have been slowly switching my Turo biz to newer Honda/toyota vehicles. Not making a crazy amount on daily rentals, but paying the notes and building net worth. These vehicles have high residual value and barely depreciate. This I believe is a better, safer long term investment
If you believe you operate a business by renting your car on "Turo", it's important to recognize that you're effectively an employee of Turo, not the owner, utilizing your own assets while they take 25% of your earnings and you take all the risk.
@@Ralphmeansbiz oh okay 👍. I was just stuck in Philly 2 weeks ago due to a delayed flight ✈️. Your airport advertising turo, I was surprised to see 👀 that

Probably didn't even need a tune up. Dealerships don't make much from recalls so they almost always call you and tell you there's other work to be done.
$800 for a flush and sparkplugs LMAO on a KIa?? you need to learn how to do the work yourself. its 30$ for kia telluride sparkle plugs and $770 for the fluid?
Spark plugs were around $200. Flush & rest were about $100+. Labor close to $300. Rest were taxes. Could’ve got it maybe $100 cheaper elsewhere but was in a time bind. And yeah I could learn how to flush an engine, but I got about 3/4 businesses to run, a 9-5, & content to make 🤷🏽♂️
Because it is a decently priced 7-seater SUV & had good auto reviews when I researched pre-purchase. Brand new vehicle bro, this not one of them old Kia’s you talking about.

Amen to that
@adonainate facts 💯
Better put Hyundai under there too, sister company my Sante fe had 3 transmissions, then the engine failed!

I'm currently trying our local auction, you can easily get cars below market value. Cheaper than FB or a dealer and less hassle.
Good thinking. I also go to auctions for vehicles. Just be very careful & make sure you know a little something about cars ✅

Yeah, it’s getting kinda ridiculous at this point. Without the hosts there’s no Turo, you’d think they’d consider us in their business model.
If your worried about the late fee just block of the time after their trip so they can't extend it

Thank you Shannon! Still trying to be better everyday, but I appreciate you being here with me! 💯
When you rent privately what precautions do you take? Do you insure your car with a specific insurance company for rental cars?
Appreciate you watching! I’m going to have to make a dedicated post on that one. So much to cover. Coming soon!
I not renting my van put till I can figure out how to stop delivery drivers from renting and thrashing my van.
I heard that bro, but realistically it’s no way you can prevent someone from doing what they want in your vehicle. Either gotta accept it comes with the game or try something else.
I go back and forth as well about scaling. The changes and accidents seem to outway the benefit especially if you finance
Yeah it feels that way. You’re pretty much hoping volume is so high it doesn’t matter smh
Just leverage to the hilt and keep the margin. I wouldn’t put much of my own money into it.
@andrewsnyder9262 yeah, that’s a strategy too. Debt just cuts so much into the margins it’s hard to justify too much of it.
Are you making videos by yourself? The quality is top-notch
Yessir, out here solo for now. Thank you so much for noticing! 🫡💯
@@Ralphmeansbiz I would definitely pay to be able to make high-quality videos like that
You can do it. Just grab a decent camera (I use a Canon M50) & watch a few videos on how to use it. You’re good! 🫡💯

Not just Kia, my 2018 Honda CR-V had a recall with no fix for 10 months. Sold it for loss after 3 months of not being able to rent it out. Hurts.
Sorry to hear that bro. Definitely a hurt piece 😩

HEY HOW DO YOU GET TO DO A LAWSUIT ON A RENTER I NEED ONE WHO DID DAMAGES BUT TURO WONT ARE PLAYING DUMB WHEN I ASK THEM FOR THE RENTER INFO
Turo usually prohibits that, but you can try reaching out to a lawyer fam ⚖️
I thought Turo pays insurance if a renter damages your car used on their Turo Platform!
@Bella-io4bv they do.
you rented without viewing their license ????

Respect. Appreciate you my guy 💯
You could of gotten a less costly tunup else where
True. But how much would I had saved if it was going to cost me more time & possible bookings?
Honestly, maybe a few hundred maybe 200-600 dealerships mark up labor to the max. Do you not have Mechanics you made connections with?
Yup, just wasn’t feasible at the moment. It gets like that sometime 🤷🏽♂️
isn t a tuneup in todays car , change plugs and maybe an air filter

Ctfu I get anybody with a beard like this. Meek Mill, Chris Rock, etc. 🤣🤣
First mistake telluride 😂

$800 for sparkplugs and a flush is always gna make it hard to profit. spark plugs and flush can be diy.. save yourself $600 for a half a day of work
Yeah, that’s an option I’ll consider if I have the time next time.
you looklike Chris Rock

I think the lesson here is to not buy Kia
That’s definitely one of them 💯
Never buy a KIA/Hyundai!
Usually not my first choice, but they have served their purpose for me in the past.
Why Kia on first place? No wonder you’re having issues all the time.
Because it is a decently priced 7-seater SUV & had good auto reviews when I researched pre-purchase. Brand new vehicle bro, this not one of them old Kia’s you talking about.
Very bad business. With the platforms dictating the price you have to charge for people to drive your onw car, it's not really your business.
Thanks for watching! I would say supply & demand dictate pricing more than the platform itself, but I definitely get what your saying.
Don't buy a Kia. They have horrific issues. Kia bois gonna ride!!!!
Yeah Kia’s suck. Just thought a brand new one would do better 🤦🏾♂️
