Actually, a v12 with the same displacement (size) of a v10 would produce less torque but more top speed. This car has a very large 3 cylinder engine, a v6 the same size would make way less torque. So the 3 cylinder engine makes more sense from a torque standpoint.
can´t technically explain, but as a reference, the big ships engines are twin turbo two strokes diesel engines (they work with heavy fuel oil). the way they work is that they look as a 4 stroke engine (lubricated the same way) but one of the turbo pushes fresh air into the combustion chamber, and the other turbo sucks the combustion gas out of the chamber (i believe both are electrical). but the max rpm they can produce is about 1.000 rpm (in many cases much less) so I can´t figure out how can they build a tiny 2 litre 3 cyl engine, gasoline powered, that can rev up to 8.000 rpm+ and be 2 stroke at certain revs (unless, they work as a 2 stroke below, let's say, 2.000 rpm?) so you can twice the power while cruising at the city at low speed and low revs? just thinking, and probably very wrong.
My jaw hit the floor. He better be selling that tech to OEM's. That's beyond insane being able to drop to 2 stroke when you need it, then go back to four.

@@russelldawkins3408 those batteries... it's just 15kWh. So expect a few launches and it's done for. I'd give it 10 minutes when driving it hard before the battery runs dry. That's just 15kWh for 1100HP!!! The model S has 100kWh and max. output of under 800HP yet its dead with an hour of driving it floored.
GamingWiffJohn I believe the Koenigseggs have an 800V system which makes it easier to pull higher power from such a small battery pack. And don’t forget you have a 600hp engine working with the crank mounted motor as a generator constantly charging the batteries back up or possibly delivering even more combined instantaneous juice!

Because he's involved in the design and manufacturing process. Also, they're a small company.
You have to understand the roles of a CEO especially to big corporations. They're business first minded individuals. They're hired (by the owners) to run the business smoothly by making sure they make the right decision.
So there are times that the founder takes the roles of the CEO. But there's more owners who assign it to another person who they think can run the company better than they do.
TLDR; CEOs need to know their products but not in fine detail like trying to explain how the universe works.
I live in Brazil, and just after seeing this video, I saw an ad showing a _new_ Dacia/Renault Duster (an old version that just recently arrived). After seeing Christian explain every small fascinating detail about the car, I looked at the ad and thought: that's so retarded. Two low functioning grown-ups running around the car. You're comparing a $40,000 car with a $1,700,000 car?
Yes i is but lets be honest where the screen is mounted ait going to make mutch difference in cost. Just put the mount lower. And the extra screen might make a little difference in cost but not mutch more since a screen is quite cheap. Cheaper den buttons in a car so not really an exuse.

7:34 "Can run two stroke in certain rpm ranges"
WHAT. How do you just skim over that?
i only got about 2 strokes in myself
can´t technically explain, but as a reference, the big ships engines are twin turbo two strokes diesel engines (they work with heavy fuel oil). the way they work is that they look as a 4 stroke engine (lubricated the same way) but one of the turbo pushes fresh air into the combustion chamber, and the other turbo sucks the combustion gas out of the chamber (i believe both are electrical). but the max rpm they can produce is about 1.000 rpm (in many cases much less) so I can´t figure out how can they build a tiny 2 litre 3 cyl engine, gasoline powered, that can rev up to 8.000 rpm+ and be 2 stroke at certain revs (unless, they work as a 2 stroke below, let's say, 2.000 rpm?) so you can twice the power while cruising at the city at low speed and low revs? just thinking, and probably very wrong.
Due to the free valve technology and also having 4 valves.... Works like a bike engine basically...
My jaw hit the floor. He better be selling that tech to OEM's. That's beyond insane being able to drop to 2 stroke when you need it, then go back to four.
