The Champion's Ballad is a DLC, a downloadable bonus part of a pre-existing game. It's not available on its own, so I can't exactly justify reviewing it on its own. It was alright, but when it came out I was all BotW'ed out :') I personally prefer Triforce Heroes over Four Swords Adventures, but that's coming from the "intended" perspective of multiplayer. Playing it alone, FSA is an obvious winner. That being said, I'm going to judge the multiplayer-focused games on the merit of the multiplayer. While Triforce Heroes is an overall "cheaper" experience that's more akin to junk food, I personally prefer the room puzzles design over Four Swords Adventures' linear adventure-like design. They have the same roots, but Triforce Heroes offers a lot more variation over shorter, smaller bursts. It's much more of a, for lack of a better word, "gamey" game than Four Swords Adventures, but I think that works in its favor.
I considered seperating the releases of Hyrule Warriors, but with all the legend characters being DLC in Wii U and Definitive just being Legends but with the DLC of that better integrated and using the Wii U's graphics, I decided against it. It was getting kinda bloated with including mainline rereleases already :')
Gotta disagree on four swords adventures, its completely playable with a single player and no gameboys at all. And it's at least an okay game, unlike the first Four Swords.
I mean to be fair skyward sword did give you new areas to explore when revisiting locations (although the second visit to eldin had such a tiny new area and you then have to backtrack the whole thing anyway, so I think the criticism is way more valid there. also I can definitely understand why the skyview temple revisit is hated, but I personally never minded it because it's fairly brief). tbh I'd argue that a new area is better than a changed area. I've never really seen it as backtracking (except eldin) and more like just unlocking a new area. and also the second time you revisit each area they do actually make big changes (except lanayru which just got another new area because lanayru is clearly the favourite child, which makes sense because it clearly is the best area). but to be fair some might have the opinion that revisiting an area twice, even if there's tangible changes, is just bad, which is fine if you feel that way. once again I personally don't mind because it's different and doesn't take too long. also I think I'm the only person who enjoyed the tadtone mission lol. pretty sure even other skyward sword fans hate that part.
I think it's mostly the ratio of new stuff to retreading being very skewed in the favor of retreading, so it's easy to feel let down by it. That being said, Twilight Princess certainly had harsher words until my most recent replay, so perhaps it's time I give it another go - last round of Skyward Sword was around when HD released so it's been a lil bit.
Spirit Tracks started off seeming pretty negative and I was worried you were gonna rate that amazing game low, but then you boosted it up to an 8/10 and that made my day! Spirit Tracks is so... not underrated but i'm gonna say niche because I can't think of the word i'm looking for
Spirit Tracks isn't my favorite to play and I vastly prefer the gameplay loop of Phantom Hourglass, but as a complete package (story and gameplay) I very much prefer Spirit Tracks. The story elevates it so well through humor and genuinely touching moments, and it's the only time I feel like you can really see a bond growing between Link and Zelda. It's an absolutely great game, it's just a little held back by DS gimmicks. I'm glad you're happy with the rank I gave it! It definitely deserves it despite my gripes :)
I share that opinion on Age of Calamity. The game seemingly actong like a prequel? Like I get to experience the war that took place 100 years before BotW? Awesome! But then the time-traveling mini Guardian... and Champion descendants... which were just the devs saying "psyche, its alternate timeline now!"
Age of Calamity may not have ranked too highly on this personal list of mine, but I will be fair to it the OST has a permanent spot in my playlists. It's SO GOOD.
Wait, can you go into more depth about your majora’s mask 3D opinion? It’s my only way of playing majora’s mask and I think it’s incredibly fun, what part about it sucks?
Ah, well one day I want to make this its own video, but for now... I should preface that if it's your only way of playing Majora's Mask, 3D still beats not playing it at all! However, Majora's Mask 3D is by all accounts a bad remake that completely misses what made the original special for a lot of people. Majora's Mask 3D inherently game-ifies the world by: Making everything obvious. Each boss now has an obvious eyeball weak point to hit, completely defeating what made the bosses of Majora's Mask unique in the first place - you could kinda tackle them however you felt like. You can kill Odolwa with just the sword, or Goht with just the Goron Roll. It's great! They made some changes in movements that are only ever for the worse. They slowed down Zora swimming by adding a new default slow swim, mapping the old fast swimming to R. The problem is that R also spends magic, and the fast swimming is still required to access certain things. This is of course right before one of the more magic-heavy segments of the game. So now there is mandatory magic spending when the game isn't built around having such a drain on magic, slowing things down in one of the slowest parts of the game. There's also Deku skipping that lost its momentum. The Deku Palace was further dumbed down - you don't even need to do the palace garden section. Just skip straight to the bean seller! The Stone Mask location was changed. It makes more sense where it is now as a progression item, but seeing as it was only ever non-mandatory, it was kind of fun having it be out of the way. A reward for exploring things for yourself rather than only ever being told where to go. Speaking of being told where to go, instead of you finding the sidequests yourself, the bombers basically spell out each clock town sidequest for you if you let them... and they are pretty obnoxious about getting in your face. This next one is obviously an oversight: the Inverted Song of Time now slows down time to 50% normal speed rather than 33%. This doesn't sound like a lot, until you realise they shaved an hour off the in-game timer in a remake that otherwise constantly tries to make things easier and more convenient for the player. If it's your only option, you can't go wrong with it, but I personally view it as a bastardization of what made the original great to begin with. Majora's Mask 3D feels like an attempt to bring a game that otherwise feels like an outlier in the series closer to the "formula", but all it really results in is a game that's too short for it to be holding your hand every step of the way. The convenience added takes away from exploring the world in the way it used to force you to. A massive part of the charm was just that - naturally discovering the world and finding out what goes where. I find this hard to do in the hint-filled, streamlined world of 3D. But you know, that's just me! (and most others who complain about 3D)
I don't like the new link's awakening because it is so incredibly laggy. (I only play in handheld mode, which apparently makes a difference in performance?) It ruined my playing experience, and when a game like BOTW or TOTK can run just fine on the switch, there's no reason this silly little game should turn into a slideshow whenever I transition between areas.
The 3DS and Wii U services are going down in April, taking Triforce Heroes along with it. Fortunately, a fanserver is already being created and is very far along the path of being fully playable, as is local wireless emulation on Citra, so the games' online isn't lost forever.

I'm so disappointed. How could you forget about the Zelda CDI games. And you missed the Satellaview games as well as Link's Crossbow Training and the Game & Watch and Game Watch Zelda game. And worat of all you missed My Nintendo Picross: Twilight Princess. This video is completely unwatchable!
Just out of curiosity, what about MM3D did you hate so much? The only really big thing I can think of is Zora swimming; and it added a lot of QoL features over the N64 version (the notebook being a lot more helpful showing NPC's schedules and having Tatl remind you at a certain time, ability to choose how long you wait using Song of Double Time, Gyorg/Twinmold being more intersection bosses, etc.)
I think the QoL features are pretty good, but ultimately not worth the dumbed down boss fights, improperly implemented reversed song of time, zora swimming, deku acceleration, the bombers giving you information on practically every side quest for free, not having the ability to save with the Song of Time (incredibly minor nitpick there tbf) other things that are more controversial takes: The Song of Double Time is good QoL on paper, but ultimately deletes what makes the time management aspect so interesting. I feel like dumbing yourself down to "wait until the time hits" is what seperates someone who plays like that from someone who mastered the game, which is something that makes the game far more replayable. It also kinda makes the Tatl reminder pointless since you can just do each sidequest in rapid fire succession now. Twinmold 3D is an atrocity and I will always stand by that.
@@EonAegis that's fair. Tbh, I didn't really use the Song of Double Time that much either, moreso using the reminder throughout my initial playthrough, only really for All night mask on 1 cycle and Anju/Kafei the 2nd time through since that was the last thing I had to do. (And the reminder was helpful on my cycle before going to the moon where you try to help everyone you can both for Romani Aliens and the different stuff in Anju/Kafei) The notebook didn't feel that over-intrusive, just giving hints on where/what the sidequests are not outright telling how to do them. And re:Twinmold, it felt kinda fun chipping down the 1 before earning the Giant Mask mid-fight and punching and "So Long King-a Twinmold"-ing the other.
@@pokedude720 Twinmold 3D's Phase 1 is good actually. Phase 2 is just overly slow and overstays its welcome greatly, to the point where entire forum threads started popping up where people couldn't figure out if they were even dealing damage. Visually spectacular, mechanically really poorly implemented. But that's kind of how Majora's Mask 3D is overall. Of course, none of these I would even consider being really bad if they weren't based on what I consider a far superior version of the game, so I will have to say my dislike for the 3D version is entirely because it destroys the tiny details I so loved about the original in favor of being a much more streamlined (and imo more boring) experience. On it's own, I would consider it just painfully average with minor annoyances and mechanics that don't seem to mesh together very well.
Zelda I = 6/10 Zelda II = 4/10 A Link to the Past = 9/10 The Ocarina of Time = 10/10 The Majora‘s Mask = 10/10 The Wind Waker = 9/10 The Twilight Princess = 8/10 The Skyward Sword = 9/10 Breath of the Wild = 10/10 Tears of the Kingdom = 10/10
Tears of the Kingdom is bad for a Zelda game. $70, 6 years, and a game that barely changes from its predecessor, not fixing most of its problems and only making its problems more pronounced. B tier Zelda game, and my least favorite 3D Zelda game.
I always feel conflicted rating tears of the kingdom in any capacity. As a standalone game, it's absolutely stellar with a few grievances I wish could be ironed out. As a sequel and as a "Zelda Game", it fails spectacularly for not just failing to be a good sequel but also doubling down on the annoyances people had with breath of the wild. I chose to score them separately, though namedropping botw was the quickest way to put some items on the table. I was very pressed for time, you see :') I completely understand where you're coming from and I do agree with your opinion. But I'm not surprised, since the opinion comes from a pikmin fan :)
Majora's mask 3d is so over-hated. Get over it lol, it's better than the original Aside from boss fights being simplified the other changes boil down to personal preference and very nit-picky. It's cool to hate it so its easy to jump in the bandwagon but I'd rather play the 3ds version than the original if I wanted to experience majora's mask again. I don't mind the bosses having an obvious hit spot to slay them easier. I'd rather have better quality of life features that don't make the game a hassle to play. If we are putting minor changes as a scale of how good the games compare, 3ds version is simply superior due to its time travel mechanic, it allows you to travel to any hour you want. That alone makes the hate on superficial changes seem overblown, which they are. In short: no. it's not a 5/10. that is ridiculous
I don't believe it's better than the original, but that's more than likely because I don't think the Quality of Life improvements are necessarily, well, improvements. Majora's Mask 3D is very give and take - things that are made more accessible and user friendly were, in the original, interesting things to work around. To put it into perspective, the Song of Double Time, a thing you consider superior, is something I would consider inferior, because it turns the time mechanic into effectively a minor inconvenience rather than a central game mechanic. The timer is no longer an essential part of the world, and moreso a time limit on a dungeon. There's no longer any incentive to do multiple things in a singular cycle, because the boring alternative (that being standing around and waiting) is no longer present. Time management is entirely destroyed and the clock is no longer a central game mechanic as you don't interact with it meaningfully anymore. While convenient, it takes something away that made the original special. As I state, there are some things I consider objective improvements in Majora's Mask 3D, most notably deku bubble, Goron punches and some other miscellaneous tweaks, but the pros far outweigh the cons when the remake completely misses the mark on what makes the original such a unique experience gameplaywise. I don't dislike it because it's cool to hate on these things - if that were the case, I don't think I would've rated Twilight Princess as low as I did, or Triforce Heroes as high as I did, and just like I never disliked Skyward Sword because of Motion Controls, but simply because it is the type of game I don't really enjoy. I dislike it because I really do genuinely believe that as a remake, it is a poor imitation of the original. As a standalone game, it is just no more than fine. Please allow me to have my own personal opinion on this, just as I will respect yours.
The boss fights being dumbed down really takes away the uniqueness of the fights, but making the same dumb weak point that has been in many games. The whole "shoot the eye" is a lame addition. Not to mention everything else EonAgis said.
It’s not. It ruins the atmosphere of the original with its brightness, completely destroys the Zora and Deku abilites, bosses are dumbed down, music is muffled, the game is overall way easier than the original, etc. N64 version is far superior imo.
sorry but you immediately lost your credibility when you gave 7/10 for Triforce Cringeroes. I think you forgot to add zero and point like 0.7/10. This game is so bad. First zelda game in my life i sold it immediately after buying it. It is so awful.
Wait what BOTW and TOTK have a story ? Ohh i see these random memories.... tbh story is so forgetable, it doesn't make me care about any of these characters compared to some Majora characters.
Ignoring ToTK for a bit - Breath of the Wild is a great story on paper. It's main problems are in the execution and the fact that you're not really a factor within the story's progression, which is kinda silly for interactive media.

I considered seperating the releases of Hyrule Warriors, but with all the legend characters being DLC in Wii U and Definitive just being Legends but with the DLC of that better integrated and using the Wii U's graphics, I decided against it. It was getting kinda bloated with including mainline rereleases already :')
Finally minish cap gets the recognition it deserves!
Where are the CDI games xD
In our hearts
Gotta disagree on four swords adventures, its completely playable with a single player and no gameboys at all.
And it's at least an okay game, unlike the first Four Swords.
5:24
How did you get it without the text box opening sound?
Amazing! But I will have waking nightmares knowing that you missed the Phillips C.D.I. games.
I do call CDi Link "The Hero of Nightmares", after all!
I'll make sure the CDi Games get their 20 second review down the line, don't worry
definitely replay triforce heroes, very underrated game
I'm just gonna plug my ears and yell "TotK is the best game they've made in decades" by myself in the corner
Not too hard when the only real competition it's had within the decade was Breath of the Wild, which is basically itself!
@@EonAegis you're not wrong, that's why I said decades - to keep it ambiguous and a little controversial 💫
@@Keycil You must be the next Zelda villain
My bias for majoras mask is off the charts
I share that opinion on Age of Calamity.
The game seemingly actong like a prequel? Like I get to experience the war that took place 100 years before BotW? Awesome!
But then the time-traveling mini Guardian... and Champion descendants... which were just the devs saying "psyche, its alternate timeline now!"
Oh man that age of calamity track at the end ❤
Age of Calamity may not have ranked too highly on this personal list of mine, but I will be fair to it
the OST has a permanent spot in my playlists. It's SO GOOD.
Eyyyy MM got a 10/10 we take those!
Super vidéo !
Twilight Princess - music
this was so fun to watch, even if i may vehemently disagree with many of these LMAO great job eon :D
Thanks! 😄 I know my Zelda opinions aren't super popular
@@EonAegis i fully respect them though :)
No links crossbow training. 5/10
I'll need to do a bonus round...
The OoS one doesn’t quite fit since the seasons mechanic isn’t like OoT..
What about the goat links crossbow training
I didnt know there were 39 zelda games since your video is 13 minutes long.
Majora’s Mask 3D is a 1000 times better when you install the fan patch
Wind Waker 8/10, Too much water.
Majora's Mask 3D inherently game-ifies the world by:
Making everything obvious.
(and most others who complain about 3D)
what about links crossbow training thats my favourite game personally
What about wands of gamalon and faces of evil? I need a review
100/10, you can make Link do the duckwalk. Cool, huh?
Definitely. He also talks which is amusing
Some locations are definitely problematic, and the performance is very bottlenecked in handheld mode unfortunately which makes things worse.
What do you mean the server are gonna go down soon 9:46
The 3DS and Wii U services are going down in April, taking Triforce Heroes along with it. Fortunately, a fanserver is already being created and is very far along the path of being fully playable, as is local wireless emulation on Citra, so the games' online isn't lost forever.
You not only rated phantom hourglass the same as twilight princess but you rated train game over it? I'm gonna be sick
I hope you feel better soon :)
Sorry, I'm not a big fan of Twilight Princess, just as Twilight Princess is not a big fan of me 😅
@@EonAegis I'm biased it was the first game I was seriously hyped for when I was younger. Most of your other takes are pretty good though. Majora's mask on N64 is my favorite Zelda game
I'm happy the first game you were seriously hyped for was one that's as good as it is :)
My first major hype game was Skyward Sword, and you can see how that turned out for me.
I can recognize it's a good enough game, it is just majorly not for me hahaha
@@EonAegis Yea I was so satisfied with twilight princess. Skyward sword I think the best way I can say it is a pretty good game but not a good zelda game
There's no way Majora's Mask is better than Skyward Sword
Everyone's allowed their own opinion after all :)
@@EonAegis of course, I have a lot of memories attached to both games and Majora's Mask is the one I've completed 100% the most. But the dungeons still feel like 4 temples of water from ocarina lol
@@Jesusamigoo Yeah, see, Iron Boots control issue aside, I actually think Water Temple is peak Zelda Dungeon Design
so that would probably make a big difference :'D

Agreed.
Eon you butt! 😂
I think the QoL features are pretty good, but ultimately not worth the dumbed down boss fights, improperly implemented reversed song of time, zora swimming, deku acceleration, the bombers giving you information on practically every side quest for free, not having the ability to save with the Song of Time (incredibly minor nitpick there tbf)
other things that are more controversial takes: The Song of Double Time is good QoL on paper, but ultimately deletes what makes the time management aspect so interesting.
(And the reminder was helpful on my cycle before going to the moon where you try to help everyone you can both for Romani Aliens and the different stuff in Anju/Kafei)
The notebook didn't feel that over-intrusive, just giving hints on where/what the sidequests are not outright telling how to do them.
On it's own, I would consider it just painfully average with minor annoyances and mechanics that don't seem to mesh together very well.
im not even lying on the twinmold fight for mm3d i spend like 30 mins on phase 2 because i had no idea what i was supposed to do
Zelda I = 6/10
Zelda II = 4/10
A Link to the Past = 9/10
The Ocarina of Time = 10/10
The Majora‘s Mask = 10/10
The Wind Waker = 9/10
The Twilight Princess = 8/10
The Skyward Sword = 9/10
Breath of the Wild = 10/10
Tears of the Kingdom = 10/10
Botw is the best in my opinion. Totk was good but...
Cool
I was very pressed for time, you see :')
I completely understand where you're coming from and I do agree with your opinion. But I'm not surprised, since the opinion comes from a pikmin fan :)
Majora's mask 3d is so over-hated. Get over it lol, it's better than the original
Aside from boss fights being simplified the other changes boil down to personal preference and very nit-picky.
@musa4539 What do you think of the Majora’s Mask 3D’s change in zora swimming?
sorry but you immediately lost your credibility when you gave 7/10 for Triforce Cringeroes.

You know, I saw a meme EXACTLY about this exact opinion, pointing out how incorrect it is
Ignoring ToTK for a bit - Breath of the Wild is a great story on paper. It's main problems are in the execution and the fact that you're not really a factor within the story's progression, which is kinda silly for interactive media.
