I’d like to see a video where you are blindfolded and see if you can tell the difference between 28.5 and 29 mm bars. Not saying you can’t - just think it would be an entertaining video. In fact, a video where you identify various power bars blindfolded by diameter and knurl would be cool.

@@ayloryabI I’ve had both and can easily tell the .5mm difference. I have smaller hands, maybe that’s why? Either way, I prefer the 28.5mm because of my smaller hands.

First they take the dingle bop and they smooth it out with a bunch of schleem. The schleem is then...repurposed for later batches.
They take the dingle bop and they push it through the grumbo, where the fleeb is rubbed against it. It's important that the fleeb is rubbed, becasue the fleeb has all the fleeb juice.
Then, a schlami shows up, and he rubs it...and spits on it.
They cut the fleeb. There's several hizzards in the way.
The blamfs rub against the chumbles, and the...plubis, and grumbo are shaved away.
That leaves you with...a regular old plumbus.

Coop you gotta check out the Philosophy Gym Olympic Barbell and do a review!
It's not a power bar but it's got specs pretty comparable to a standard Rogue Ohio Bar w/cerakote but it only costs $170 brand new with free shipping. Smaller 80" version is only $120.
It's the best value all-purpose bar I've seen and they even make a shorty 72" version which is possibly one of the best rackable 6ft barbells around since it still has decent plate sleeve length.
    P.S. It's gotta be Kabuk-nurl 😁

28.5mm is a pass. Call me a purist, but too much money not to get the one I want.
Also Coop, Texas power bar came out with a 29mm and it is AMAZING

  • @StingRey_7
    @StingRey_7 2 месяца назад

I have a 28.5mm and bar, the Rogue Chan bar. I enjoy it for pulls like the deadlifts as well as other floor work movements like power cleans and snatches.
That being said, I don’t quite enjoy 28.5mm on the squat, bench and overhead press. At 200 lbs you won’t feel the whip much if at all. However it becomes increasingly noticeable the further north of 300 lbs you go.
Also I don’t like the way 28.5 mm feels both in hand during presses and on the back during squats.

I liked this option since it was an entry level price to the Kabuki knurl. However, they discontinued it when rebranding to Kabuki Power.
The end caps rattle, and the sleeve tolerances are large for a circlip design, but I often grab it for the knurling.

@BasementBrandon Yes, while the remaining inventory lasts. (I picked up a few barbells at the beginning of the rebranding.) On IG, I made a comment about no more Oregon bar, and they said they made the decision to discontinue it. I think Kabuki Power is sticking to premium only.

I've been using the Olympic bar that came with the 300 lbs Fitness Gear weight plates that I bought for $100 from Dick's Sporting Goods for many years now. I've bench-pressed 355 lbs with it, and I have never found a good reason to buy a stronger Olympic bar, especially now that I prefer doing other exercises than the bench press, like pull-ups and dips. If you are into powerlifting and bench pressing 500 pounds raw, I can understand why you want a much stronger Olympic bar. Yet, the vast majority of home gym owners aren't bench pressing 300 pounds-- especially, not for reps.

      Mine bent deadlifting 345-355 regularly.
It also feels like absolute crap in your hands. Even more so when you compare to a real bar.
      Strong disagree.
You can get used plates and a used great bar for not much more. We’ve gotta stop buying junk from China that gets thrown into a landfill or the ocean within a couple of years.
