What a masterpiece of motorsport history... the BMW too.
😂👌
I just finished watching Jeremy Clarkson say this is the car he regrets selling the most on drivetribe and this video popped up. RUclips world is small.🤩
Didn't he say the gtv6 was the car he regretted selling the most?
I just did the opposite, haha.... Peace!
Yeah me to 🤣🤣
Haha, me too!
He sold for 3000👁️👁️. Absolute idiotic 💀
can we have more of tiff doing more car reviews like this.
Tiff: Class, Wit, and style.
😁👌
Great to see Tiff behind the wheel of a classic Bavarian masterpiece ! ❤
👌👌
Tiff will forever be my all time fav presenter!
👌👌
We need more tiff reviews! Maybe his own show?!
I sold them new. Wonderful cars. However, as I recall, the UK CSLs were right hand drive, but not the Batmobile; they were LHD only. The UK Batmobiles had glass not perspex, and manual windows not electric.
It was a great time to be selling BMW cars.
😎😎
What a lovely video!
The 3.0 CSL is such a wonderful car, maybe one of the top 5 classic cars of the era.
A truly legendary car 👌👌 glad you enjoyed the video
Love the stories from Tiff. Could listen to him all day telling those stories.
Stay tuned for more John! 😎👍
Two timeless classics.
😁👌
Please do a similar video on the Countach and the Celica. That was so enjoyable!
Glad you enjoyed it 😁👍
A glorious totem. For road use, nothing like as pleasant as any other one of the CS models.... But this is not a road car in terms of purpose.
Few will ever get to drive this precious unicorn, but a CSi, a CS, even an automatic is still a wonderful thing on the public highway. Most now sit on modern tyres and have modern dampers and braking surfaces.... But still the aura of Munich on the 1970s.
In fact, any BMW from that era will be a glorious drive..... 2002, 2500, 3.0Si, even the long, lumbering 3.3Lia.... Cars built to be a pleasure to drive, at a time when few were.
Lovely video about a shockingly rare, beautifully conceived and built thoroughbred. Thank you.
As soon as I seen a channel with tiff reviewing cars subscribed instantly his enthusiasm is great
perfect video thanks Tiff :)
😎👌
For a 1970's car these e9's really feel modern. Most other cars still had live rear axels and rear drum brakes. This car already had 4 piston frontcalipers on ventilated rotors and 2piston rear calipers also on ventilated rotors. The brakes are very powerful for a car from the 1970's. It also has IRS and this CSL has an LSD as well.
BUT these e9 cars (handbuilt by Karmann) can RUST like you wouldn't believe and at a glance you would not even see it.
And the wings and nose are welded to the body so you can't easily replace a wing. If you do need to do that a new wing will cost you thousands! just the wing. Chrome trim pieces are also horendously expensive and rare.
Awesome piece - Tiff has that unmatched talent of really communicating the emotion in the driving of each car he tests.
You can see Tiff really loves the car, the enthusiasm really comes across. Brought back great memories of what TG used to be like. What a machine. What a video :)
Really a pleasure to see Tiff Needell enjoying a car with the same enthousiasm that he had years ago !! Thank you a lot Tiff !
Thank you Tiff, you just made my day! One of my favourite BMWs. A proper live car that's for drivers not restrained by modern nannying & weight, simple & pure
👍😁
Brilliant, I would love to see more like this! To me it’s much more interesting than modern hatchbacks
Glad you enjoyed the video Luke. 👍😁
@@lovecarsTV Not just Luke.... I think you should spin off and do a retro series of ICE era motoring.... many of us are utterly switched of by these new EV things coming fast and furious.... the minute I hear its electric I just switch off, no matter how much I like the production team. You could build a whole new following.... with a full back catalogue of Tiffs comments and memories..
This is the kind of video content I'm here for! More of this please ☺️ Bravo 👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it 😎👌
This one and the CSi were my childhood poster cars and still are today. Tiff you are a LEGEND, there s no one like you.
Wow, did you enjoy the video? 😁
I always enjoy a Tiff video. Contagious enthusiasm, knowledgeable and an excellent presenter. Also a great and tenacious racer. The car's lovely too. 😉
Glad you enjoyed the video and stay tuned for more. 👍😁
Why doesn’t this channel get more views? It’s utterly brilliant.
Thanks, glad you're enjoyed it. 😁👌
'Sweet Home Alabama' and Munich Aire composing a beautiful track rocket. Thankyou :).
Thats the content i've subscribed for, thanks Tiff!
Glad you enjoyed the video Beni 👍😁
It's always nice to see a presentation by Tiff, the man responsible for turning me into a maniac behind the wheel, I copied all of his antics, handbrakes, J turns, drifting etc, now I heel and toe automatically from muscle memory. I love the snow and doing doughnuts around a lamp post on an empty carpark, steering with the throttle to keep my circles nice and tight, so thanks Tiff for making me a responsible, law abiding driver. More please, Yoda.
That Alpina Wheels tho ! Ohhhh my ! Perfection
BMW 3.0 CS , one of my all time top 5 favourite cars. Brilliant video.
Glad you enjoyed the video! 😁👌
A proper driver's car free of electronic gizmos and a real looker to boot. Got to admire the visibility from that cabin. Love every bit of it, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed the video. 😁👍
What a gorgeous iconic car. Great video too 👍
Couldn't agree more, thanks Paul. 😎👌
Tiff is the man to do this review justice!
Great video, I feel like I’m in Forza!!!!!!!!!!! Tiffs review of cars is dare I say Perfect!!!! Can’t expect anything else from a legend:)
Glad you enjoyed the video! 😁👍
Lovely video as always
Thanks David glad you enjoyed it. 😎👌
Excellent presentation. No bullshit. Just straight up facts. Thanks!
Brilliant pick! Thanks for this👍🏼🙏🏼🍻
Glad you enjoyed it 👍😁
Thanks tiff for sharing something so important.
Loving the feature!
Glad you enjoyed the feature! 😁👍
Absolutely stunning, good job guys 👍🏻
Thanks Nick 😁👍
Great to watch such an enthusiastically and well presented video!
Glad you enjoyed it 😁👍
I love the energy. The car itself is a peach, stripes suits it well.
😁👍
Absolutely love it stunning
😎👍
Phenomenal car and even more phenomenal Tiff.
Very phenomenal 😁👍
Brilliant Tiff, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it 👌👌
More vintage reviews please guys! This is truly lovecars!
😎👍
such a great car, thanks Tiff
Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍😁
Excellent review by a real driver, thanks Tiff
Glad you enjoyed it Mr Sunshine 👍
one of the most stunning cars in my opinion
we need more like this videos !!!!
The only one of these I’ve seen in the metal was rescued as a rusted heap and turned into a full-on track beast with an S54 & really well done widebody kit.
😁👍
Also Great Review Tiff!
👌👌
Nice to hear from Tiff again.
Loving this content
Thanks 😁👍
Dislike from Jeremy Clarkson who said that he regrets selling it (in a video from 2019 released an hour ago)😂
😁👍
The CS was the most beautiful car BMW ever made.
What a wonderful machine. Great video too
Thanks Pete. 👍😁
Had to save this one in my favorites. Legendary
Two legends! 😎👍
Those cars were amazing
😎👍
What a great video. An even greater car
Glad you enjoyed the video. 😎👌
Great video Tiff of a truly magnificent car. I had one of these in the early 80's. My bigest regret is selling it. It was in mint condition and I sold it for £20,000 in 1984. I've seen the same car sold at auction for £185,000. Should never have sold it.
Gorgeous and iconic.
CSL is a beauty! 👌👌
More of Tiff with iconic classics please!
👍😁
It’s a good day to see Tiff! 💙
What did you think of the car? 😎👍
@@lovecarsTV I think the car is epic! It reflects back on the day when BMW was making amazing connected drivers cars, maybe not the fastest or in some eyes the best looking but definitely the most passion built cars, it was cool to see it out on the road and see a true driving enthusiast enjoying it!
What a fantastic machine. If only I had the money. Well done on a great video.
Would you get this one or the last M2 CS? 😁
@@slash298 I would go for the 3.0 CSL , they are extremely rare in comparison to the M2 CS
Glad you enjoyed the video Peter 👍👍
The Legend
Looks like tiff was getting alittle emotional driving that csl at 6:25. I could understand why too. Awesome video guys. Could feel the emotion sitting here at home
Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍😁
Fantastic video and a great car.
Glad you enjoyed it. 😁👍
Thank you for your service 🖖
👌👌
10/10 for this video in every single way.
Thanks! 👍😁
Bloody brilliant
Wish BMW still made quality cars like this.
They still do make one called the M2.
My dad had one of these in the mid 80's. He got a tow bar fitted and towed a caravan down to the south of france from the UK SMH. It made it ok, but looking back it all seems quite bonkers. Loved that car though.
Love this video. Tiff is a fantastic host, he is very enjoyable to listen to. Camera work is well done, I liked the slow pan in the out-of-car shots, and the drone shots. The music was a bit loud, though, and drowned out the exhaust. (e.g. 4:01)
Glad you enjoyed the video Brady and thanks for the feedback. 👍👍
What a stunning car!
Completely agree!
Tiff is a legend.
😎👌
Aaaaaaaaaaaahhh can't wait to watch this!!
😎👌
Tiff and a CSL, harder to think of a classier combo 👌
😎👍
I have an artsy print of this on my wall, it’s one of my absolute favourite motors. Ever. 😍
It's certainly an amazing car! 👍😁
My old LDV drives like this old Beemer, constantly having to Correct the Steering Aye! Nice old Shark👍👍👍
It's so funny how far we've come. 200 hp sounds rather common in 2021, but in the early 70s that was quite an insane number of ponies in a street-legal car, weighing 1100 kgs. Even a 911 S "only" had 190 hp back then.
Can't say I'd prefer the Batmobile-version over a regular 3.0 CSL - which, IMO, is one of the prettiest cars BMW have ever made.
Thank You very much 👍🇫🇮
You're welcome! 👍😁
Thanks Tiff!
😎👌
Great Video Tiff always gives honest good reviews .This is a great car for sure , 203hp to 206hp when they bored it out.
Thing is the American Trans Am cars Camaro Z28 , Mustang Boss 302 , Dodge Challenger T/A Plymouth ARR Cuda had 280hp 5 litres and costed much less and they did handle especially the Z28 . And ask for the CSL rear spoiler the Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird made the CSL look like it's tiny.
But this and the BMW M1 are the only BMWs I would have in a collection oh plus 850 CSI
Was this filmed near Cheddar Gorge? Great video as always!
Glad you enjoyed the video Deano, this video was filmed in that area! 👍😁
3.0 csl,z8,m1 one of my favorite bimmer
Excellent choices 👍😁
What a great video Tiff, and that fabulous kidney grille compared to the not so great BBQ grille the M cars likes to sport today....
Glad you enjoyed the video 😎👍
Wonderful car and driver
👍😁
Wunderbar!
👌👌
Absolutely great video and ohh what a cool car this motorsport batmobile is (was). There is another batmobile you could check out (if you can find one to test drive) ... That being the Mercedes 190E 2.5 16v EVOLUTION 2. Ohh when cars were outrageously designed but so so 'manual' & 'over engineered' to last!! I'm in car heaven just thinking/dreaming bout them; please DON'T wake me up..... Not until I've finished driving them!! :-)
Great post.
Thanks Rob 😁
Amazing. Such a great car. Four gears. It was more than enough. Pure mechanical engine sound.
😎👍
Driven that road many a time, Old Bristol Road heading out of Wells.
😎👍
Nice one Tiff.... Nice one. 👌
👍👍
Awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it John. 👍👍
The grand daddy of the M cars looks amazing reconditioned 👍
😁👍
Love Tiff; Love old Beemers!
😎👍
Legend
😁👍
Imagine a restomod of that beauty with the new M3/M4 engine and a proper manual gearbox. That would be wicked.
God no.
Or the E46 m3 csl engine
@@lukemcnamara7355 Oh that would be great if the sound still remains the same.
@@lukemcnamara7355 Oh that would be great if the sound still remains the same.
Tiff the best !
👍👍
They should probably make those again.....!
