- Oggi sentiamo in azione tre diverse tipologie di corde D'Addario per chitarra acustica:
D'Addario XS, D'Addario XT e le tradizionali D'Addario EJ16 - quale sarà il vostro suono preferito?
Le tre mute nel test sono quanto di meglio ad oggi offre il marchio americano in fatto di suono acustico, comprese le nuovissime XS che segnano un altro passo avanti tecnologico che pone D’Addario sempre tra i maggiori soggetti trainanti della ricerca e sviluppo di settore.
Le corde testate sono ovviamente tutte della stessa scalatura 012-053, vediamone le caratteristiche senza però scrivere nulla di indicativo sul suono, che valuterete da soli nel video.

Very slight differences. One would sound slightly better with fingerstyle, another with strumming, Traditional EJ for strumming. XS for fingerstyle. Not to dis the XT which seemed a compromise between the other 2.

Nicely done. This is my 5th vid and the first one where I couldn’t see any obvious position differences that effected more than string diff. Both you guys. With this real comparison, I can hardly tell any difference, which doesn’t surprise me. I like a more ‘slippery’ feel so will order the XSs.

Xs and Ej16 sound similar specially on the last run you guys did, but the EJ overall just sounds a bit more natural to me, the biggest prob for me is having to replace the strings more often due to the strings wear
how often do you change EJ16 strings and how many hours +- do you play in that timeframe?
La differenza, seppur sottile, è tangibile. A mio gusto personale ho preferito in quest'ordine XS, EJ16 e infine le XT. Bel video, bel confronto, bravi musicisti, contenuto interessante.. Come sempre: Kudos, Musicoff!

Se ascoltate bene sento una differenza netta, sarei davvero curioso di provare le XS, anche se devo dire che da quello che sento preferisco ancora le XT, ma sicuramente una prova è obbligatoria! Grazie Musicoff 🐉

Sì in effetti le differenze sono piuttosto nette e a seconda della tipologia di suono e playing si può preferire l'una o l'altra muta di corde, bisogna quindi trovare quella più affine al proprio stile/mani. Se le provi facci sapere qui nei commenti com'è andata la tua prova personale ;-)

My verdict: XS has the most balanced and rounded tone. EJ16 sound edgy regardless of style of playing. XT have good bottom end definition, but XS is the overall best performer.
Siempre usé las EJ16 en mis guitarras, ahora compré XT para probar, me parece que va mucho en el tipo de cuerpo de la guitarra, las Grand Auditorium ya tienen un sonido brillante con las XT le das un balance (Más definición y volumen), y si tenés una guitarra con cuerpo Dreadnought (Guitarra Folk Popular) esas tienen un sonido con mucho volumen en los bajos, quizás con las EJ16, o unas 80/20 ( Suenan más crunchy, tienen ese aire Folk retro) le das un poco de vida. Hay que probar para saber cuál es el sonido que buscas, es cuestión de gustos

I just went through all the comments and it appears that nobody mentioned string squeak. I like the EJ16 tone on mahogany but they had the most squeak. The XS had the least string squeak.
Can i know what guitar is it? Is it taylor ad22e?
All Daddario strings sound good to me , but i dislike the brightness of EJ16 for the first week of playing. I prefer a softer fuller tone, not being a lead acoustic guitarist. I have been using EXP 12 -53 strings for years and I prefer their softer tone and long life. I can't stand elixir’s rattily tone. Fingerstyle the XS seem better but using a pick the XT seem better. I am a pick player so I'll just have to try both XS and XT and see what is best for me.
For my taste the XS lacks in volume and high and bottom end. The EJ the most balanced to me, but i like the extra mid and bottom end the XT seems to have. So XT for me.
I use these a few years on my electrique and realy like them a lot for that purpose.

D'Addario XS and D'Addario EJ16 are good similar tones =.
The XT's are stupid bright. I have found them to be particularly great at making smaller guitars sound larger, for example my LG-3 with XT's sounds just like a J45.
for me,
- XT is strong and crunchy
- EJ16 is strong but not crunchy as the XT one
- XS is strong and have softer sound (?)

Ola. Eu me chamo oseias eu comprei encordoamento daddario xs 011 estranho que acorda (G) ela estar como descascando e normal isso a que vcs testou deu esse desgaste mesmo de 1 mês
Comprei 1 kit com 2 unidades para violão ambos a mesmo situação destacando na cidade ( G) .
Eu sempre usei daddario xt 0.10 nunca tive problema
Nem com cordoamento da minha guitarra nyxl 0.10

We didn't experience this type of wear, so we don't know what the problem might be due to, perhaps a defective batch of strings?
Try writing to the company that distributes the strings in your country or to D'Addario itself. ;)

XS più complete, poi EJ16, le XT sembrano delle Elixir rivestite.. troppo piatte, senza emozione, forse in studio rendono.. ma a mio gusto mancano di anima.
Le EJ16 emozionano, ma non durano.. le XS emozionano, sono più bilanciate e durano. Credo siano le migliori corde in commercio.
