As someone who lives in the Netherlands where we get born with a bike attached to our little bottoms, I totally get your comments on the zen feeling although I feel it’s way easier here to get in the zone because in the Netherlands the traffic is basically designed around bicycle travel. So you don’t feel scared when biking around. (Also the Netherlands is a lot tinier then well anything in the USA)
That is the the thing that attracts me more from Amsterdam (l have never been there), that is a bycicle friendly city. Fortunately my City Sydney is gradually getting friendly with cyclists
I think the main issue with US cities is that they are huge. Everything is far way. Most European cities have everything you need pretty close in comparison. I´m from Lisbon and in my hometown (on the south side of the river) I have everything at walking distance. Other things I can ride a bike and enjoy it. I remember going to Las Vegas and everything was far AF. During the trip we visited SEMA show, usually we would use a car to get there and seemed pretty close. One day me and a friend decided we would go sooner and walking, to enjoy the city. Took us one hour to get there. It's like the city extended and made the show further then the day before. lol
Up until the city of Orange ordered the homeless to vacate the Santa Ana river/bike trail, that whole area had been skid row. Now that it's been cleared of the homeless, it saves me about a half an hour on my morning commute by cycling to work (I kind of want to get an electric, but I suppose it's keeping me in shape without).
I have been bike commuting in LA since I moved here over year ago. I currently ride from Highland Park to Hollywood 4-5 days a week (30 miles/day, non-electric assist road bike), and I am definitely one of a very small (but present) number of cycle commuters in the city. I think it takes a certain kind of dedication/crazy to ride constantly out here, but once you know the roads, side streets, and bike paths you can get almost anywhere. It is unquestionably a lifestyle - it governs what I wear, what I eat, and what I deem necessary to bring to work every day. It encourages a minimalist approach to what I bring to work, and I think it ultimately leads to healthier life decisions and a better quality of life. I love biking in LA!
I've used electric bikes to cover most daily transportation needs for the last 18 months, including neighborhood grocery shopping, carrying parcels to UPS, moving a wine rack, and 20+ miles cross town trips. It's actually fun and keeps me exercising.

LA was a bunch of little towns/cities that just grew into each other. There was no top-level city planning to the place before the interstates came in.

Wow, that's crazy how different the west is. i think that he was somewhat splaying out because the saddle was about 10cm too low. not saying he needed super high speed saddle height, just that having it higher would be easier and more efficient and it would be kinder on his knees.
so L.A. is the exact opposite of my city where driving car is made extremely hard and traffic system is optimized for public transportation, bicycles and walking
The title sounds like one of those videos where someone doesn't do something for a week and passes it off like it was "self dicipline" or a "learning experience".
Not to mention it's extremely vague. Hell, these guys decided to call it the Corridor Crew not too long ago. How am I supposed to know who ''I'' is when merely looking at the title? If it was a personal vlog channel I could understand, but this channel is run by multiple people.
Interesting video and comments on electric bike commuting in LA. We're obviously fans of electric bikes. They can definitely make riding bikes even more fun, and, if commuting by bike, can make for an easier and less sweaty ride. There are many different styles available - commuters, cruisers, fat tire, foldable, etc. Do some research and find out which is best for you!
in the US people make documentaries about it in The Netherlands its normal (both electric and non electric) as a Dutchman that really feels so weird U guys really need to work on making bicycle lanes and stuff step it up america!
Pepijn Arts, except this isn’t the Netherlands, our country is 3000 miles across, in most places it would be a waste of paint to make a bike lane, US law requires bikes to follow the same traffic laws of the cars, and there is plenty of space, so no we do not “step it up”. Thanks anyway!
Most cities in North America are very spread out due to urban sprawl and this is what explains the lack of cycling infrastructure. If the cities were fairly compact like they are in the Netherlands, I think it's safe to say that you would see considerably more infrastructure being dedicated to walking and cycling. Some cities in Canada are pursuing a policy of 'densification'; that is, 'growing up' instead of out to reduce or eliminate urban sprawl and preserve arable land as well as natural areas. Densification policies usually include improved cycling facilities.
Charlie Foxtrot With very little traffic, riding and walking without bike lanes and sidewalks should be fine if following European style traffic laws. This limits the investment to bigger roads and school roads. Sometimes narrow alleyways can be redefined as bicycle / pedestrian shortcuts with just a signpost or two. Really wide sidewalks are mostly done in front of shop windows where the stores want people to linger and make impulse buys. Wide bicycle lanes are mostly on really busy bicycle routes where that capacity is actually needed, they're as rare as 6 lane freeways.
I love electric bikes! I am so happy to see this. We need more awareness about biking. You can use a hybrid method. Like Bike when you have time and you don't have a weight to carry.
Bear in mind he said the place he's cycling is really non-pedestrian-friendly where cars just zing past all the time. Bearing this in mind, he really should get a helmet, haha
When you guys said “when we reach 1 million” I was honestly surprised y’all haven’t reached that yet. I literally had to check to see how many you guys had.
I think perhaps you may well have found other ways to get to your destination if you had checked out some of the bicycle paths on google maps, I know I was surprised how many cycle paths there are in London now compared to 10 years ago. I just wonder if you checked out any advice about routs you could have taken from the cycle shop as they would probably have had many cycle paths on a map. Also it would have made more sense to go out on weekends first just for a pleasure ride to get used to exploring the area on a bike, it's a whole other world on a bike or escooter compared to driving there are often cut throughs, paths and so on that keep you off the main road and in the back streets. But if you did check all that out and found nothing then perhaps the city is doomed to be covered in pollution for a long time to come.
This is amazing. I just started using my electric bike in Georgia and you realize those small things on your ride. The things I don't like is the stray dogs chasing me, people flying out in front of you at businesses or crosswalks. Otherwise I really love it.
Every time I see one of those static shots where you guys bike or walk or one wheel down a path away from a camera, I can't help but picture you guys running back for it
Hey at least the roads seem pretty smooth there in LA. Here in Dallas this city hates anything with wheels. The roads are so rough its become a meme, there are no ramps on the sidewalks for people in wheel chairs (and a lot of buildings don't have wheelchair access either), there is a red light at the bottom of every valley, the trolley tracks are designed to trap 700c wheels and cause wrecks, and sidewalks are just a place to randomly stick light posts, trees, sign posts, and telephone poles. I've never went on the freeways but I hear they are pretty bad too.
Can't do that in Texas for most of the year. Decent jobs are located at least 7miles from the nearest residential area, no bike paths or sidewalks, 35 degrees and raining during winter, and 103 and humid during the summer. You need a car here... But it's still a privilege to drive according to the law.
I am a bike enthusiast and a harsh car critique in general. But America is a different deal. In Germany, there are far too many cars inside cities and using a bike or public transport is often the better option.
Could you guys do a new workflow video? Wonder what it is like since the crew has grown so much. And also... why choose 3ds Max over Maya? And should I? Love the content, keep up the work!! :)
I'm German and I totally don't understand why LA is so bicycle unfriendly, because in Germany there are Cities designed to be able to deal with many cyclists. So there are extra lanes for them so the cars won't honk.
Yeah It's bad in the UK too mostly compared with mainland Europe. That's one of the reasons I haven't created an electric bike, as well as legal restrictions on speed and power
You are so lucky. I used to live in Karlsruhe and used my bike even in the winter. It was great, I could get anywhere without much planning. Now I live in Budapest and using a bike is more difficult. There is very little infrastructure for bikes, but since many people started riding it works. Car drivers are reasonably polite.
6:36 seems there is a bike rack on back.....to complicated to figure out how to tie backpack to it...of course if your really replacing car you would probably want a cargo bike....NAH
@CorridorCrew I have watched multiple videoes these recent days and I love the content, but if I should name one thing I truly hate about them, then it is the construction of each particular video and the interruptions of video sections with a new, not in coherence video segment. This is really starting to grind my gears. Hope you will keep this in mind. 7/10 :)
Damn, I've grown up with your channel for almost a decade now. You made most of my childhood special. This video showed on my subscriptions because I would like to make most of my commute on bike. Even though New York City says its a bicycle friendly city. Almost 20-30 cyclist annually are getting killed due to massive traffic and how the city is constructed in recent century. But hey I am more than willing to take this route if its going to benefit my heart health. As always your content is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I dont really know what to say about these titles recently. Its its purposeful and is trying to draw new viewers or its flatout clickbait. The titles arent a big problem and the content is mostly the same which is good to see.
Martineeez76 yah they go back and forth on their clickbaity-ness. At times ive actually unsubscribed because it felt too much like long ads for dumb products, and minimal behind the scenes footage. Ive come back because I enjoy there work, and it can be infuriating, but I will say they have improved and are less annoying abput it.
How is this click bait he said he tried a new bike, which he did. The title described exactly what happened. And also you hey the name change explanation
kcirred htims I think that last part: "... Here's What Happened" gives off that clickbaity vibe. They do explain it in the video, and I can understand why they would title it like that. What, with all the RUclips bs algorithm and view count determining life and death for a channel. It just doesn't sit well with me. I still love these guys and the content they put out.
Franco G click bait is when you title something unrelated to get more views. Reguardless of whether the title gets more views are not it's not click bait because the video is actually about what it said it's about. They didn't mislead anyone in anyway.
Martineeez76 I do kinda agree that is looks very, purposely made to drive attention, but i wouldn't say flat out clickbait, that's too much, but i wouldn't necessarily prefer these titles that i call "cliche modern youtube video" rather than their more normal and informative style of titles, my preference, but i can see many agree with me too, that the titles don't, go with the good content, i only click on them because of the cool idea the thumbnail or title is implying (since it's not straight up clickbait), and because it's a CorridorCrew video. edit: You can tell that this trait goes back on forth on and on and on, i don't say that the ads also are bad, since, 1. They have a time marker, 2. They're better for the channel, 3. I wouldn't call every product dumb unless it's absolute dumb. I just hope Cmike, sees these comments though, so they can experiment and see if it has a positive effect, also going with the new branding. Edit 2: But i do get the, "many videos are fully sponsored and about sponsored products and only about half the segment becomes about normal stuff" i can see that, and i do agree, i wish there more BTS (Behind the scenes) footage, more video development topic videos, more Wren doing cool Tech stuff, but i mean, it's good they even make videos on their downtime while making the Corridor Official videos especially if they make the content still interesting in my opinion.
Good looking out, Jake. This was one hell of a kick ass undertaking. I admit, I'd be too terrified to try it in LA. I live in Anaheim and it can pretty nasty.
Daniel B never talked about environment and/or prices. Seeing him cross the street like that made me think that maybe a motorbike would be safer, with respect to the bike. Electric just comes from his "alternative electric transportation" thing. Plus, a motorcycle would allow him to move easily/fast around the city

not using a helmet is uncool, especially after talking about how dangerous your city is. I thought you guys were above thinking safety isn't as important as fashion
I don't need to watch for the results.. I know it is faster, less expensive: no parking, no gas, can work on your own bike. I sold my car 11 years ago and haven't' missed it.

i think that he was somewhat splaying out because the saddle was about 10cm too low. not saying he needed super high speed saddle height, just that having it higher would be easier and more efficient and it would be kinder on his knees.
so L.A. is the exact opposite of my city where driving car is made extremely hard and traffic system is optimized for public transportation, bicycles and walking
Why did you make this a reply to my comment?
Because it's relevant to your comment, clearly? What, I'm not allowed to chime in or add anything?
wah wah just shut up and enjoy the content
9:05 JAKE BREAKFAST BURRITO SIGHTED!!!
Wuuuh, thanks wren! I'm part of the ship, part of the crew!
Why they edited fake car beeping sounds. Like a lot.
Next time Jake get a lid, your a dad now, safety first. #lidssavelives
It;s good to be part of the CREW!
in the US people make documentaries about it
in The Netherlands its normal (both electric and non electric)
as a Dutchman that really feels so weird
U guys really need to work on making bicycle lanes and stuff
step it up america!
That crew photo 🙌🏻👍🏻🔥
That new Intro! NICE! It just made me love the new colors I didn’t really like that much until this video.
Wear a helmet, mate!
Bear in mind he said the place he's cycling is really non-pedestrian-friendly where cars just zing past all the time. Bearing this in mind, he really should get a helmet, haha
bicycledutch.wordpress.com/2018/04/25/more-cycling-fatalities-than-deaths-in-cars/
Only time I've had issues on my bike is during the slow/easy rides. You're not as focused and it can still go pretty bad at 10-15 mph.
Lasse Aagesen It’s pretty obvious cause we have way more people on bikes then in cars
Always wear a snell and dot approved helmet not just a shitt cycling helmet get a motorcycle helmet for these things
When you guys said “when we reach 1 million” I was honestly surprised y’all haven’t reached that yet. I literally had to check to see how many you guys had.
You guys make such a big deal of it haha, in Holland we've been doing this for years already.
Rick Maassen precies die
Haha my thoughts exactly.
Gotta say I'm loving this rebranding, But most specifically, I LOVED the editing of this video.
For Berlin, I drive both. I save so much in injurance costs, parking and fuel, but most important I get predictable times, when I will arrive.
WREN WITH THE MODEL 3 👀👀👀👀👀
This is amazing. I just started using my electric bike in Georgia and you realize those small things on your ride. The things I don't like is the stray dogs chasing me, people flying out in front of you at businesses or crosswalks. Otherwise I really love it.
The reason they changed the name now is so they get a gold play button with the Corridor Crew name on it
Sharing their success with the friends that helped them achieve it. I think that's been a great idea!
Also: Corporate Identity
I can't get over how nice that new banner is
Damn nearly 1 million subs
Every time I see one of those static shots where you guys bike or walk or one wheel down a path away from a camera, I can't help but picture you guys running back for it
Just another crewton reporting for duty.
ive been watching node/corridor for years now....they are the best!
Best Thing I ever did was install a throttle on my electric bike. It basically became a scooter, doing up to 30ish mph
I've never went on the freeways but I hear they are pretty bad too.
i got so sick of hunting parking spots that i changed to e-bike. healthy for me and healthy for the earth
Oh so this is the birth of the Corridor Crew...
When it takes you an hour and a half to get to school in a car....
New banner photo is badass, nice job Sam.
Bike music is sick!
Henry Blyth it sounds so much similar to another song ik but I can't remember that song name and it's pissing me off ughh
if you figure it out, let us know
ruclips.net/video/dOn4c_nq41w/видео.html
This videos music is on point! Love the intro editing!
Could you guys do a new workflow video? Wonder what it is like since the crew has grown so much. And also... why choose 3ds Max over Maya? And should I?
Love the content, keep up the work!! :)
This just reinforces my desire to get an electric motorcycle
I'm German and I totally don't understand why LA is so bicycle unfriendly, because in Germany there are Cities designed to be able to deal with many cyclists. So there are extra lanes for them so the cars won't honk.
Alex Cassel Warte von Amerikanern, umweltbewusst zu werden lol
Pressure from the car industry and the American Dream I guess.
Have you been in Houston? It's way worst than L.A. for bikes
I love the new intro with the logo and then the Corridor Crew flash. Love it noice job guys.
“LA is the most non-pedestrian friendly city on the planet”..
*Laughs in Manila*
Kaya nga
Even the roads sucks since most have holes and is practically unfinished
*laughs in Filipino*
I love everything about the new channel branding. Nice job on it
OneWheel for life! 😁
The moving banner endcard is awesome! Great rebrand!
0:40 Oh my GAWD! that transition!
Kelly Kozzy how is that impressive?
Kelly Kozzy check out the intro to their video called dont touch that mavic
Now try a week commuting in the Twin Cities on an ebike in winter. Bring a balaclava and heated gloves.
Wren has a model 3??!!!!
As always your content is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥
non-pedestrian friendly city, you haven't been to South East Asia, Cebu!
Watching this video in 2020 and they have 3.87 million that’s awesome to see I love this channel so much
wait... 700 cm wheels? you do realise that's 275.6 inches, right?
7 meter wheels, 😂😂
He probably means 700c wheels which are standard road bike size wheels
john lobo yeah, 700C is a standard road wheel set. 700C means 700 millimeters which is around 29 inches
Block hax 27½" actually.
The "Zen Time" is something that as an avid cyclist I have experienced quite frequently.
Martineeez76 I do kinda agree that is looks very, purposely made to drive attention, but i wouldn't say flat out clickbait, that's too much,
but i wouldn't necessarily prefer these titles that i call "cliche modern youtube video" rather than their more normal and informative style of titles, my preference, but i can see many agree with me too, that the titles don't, go with the good content, i only click on them because of the cool idea the thumbnail or title is implying (since it's not straight up clickbait), and because it's a CorridorCrew video.
edit: You can tell that this trait goes back on forth on and on and on, i don't say that the ads also are bad, since,
1. They have a time marker,
2. They're better for the channel,
3. I wouldn't call every product dumb unless it's absolute dumb.
I just hope Cmike, sees these comments though, so they can experiment and see if it has a positive effect, also going with the new branding.
Edit 2:
But i do get the, "many videos are fully sponsored and about sponsored products and only about half the segment becomes about normal stuff" i can see that, and i do agree, i wish there more BTS (Behind the scenes) footage, more video development topic videos, more Wren doing cool Tech stuff, but i mean, it's good they even make videos on their downtime while making the Corridor Official videos especially if they make the content still interesting in my opinion.
Good looking out, Jake. This was one hell of a kick ass undertaking. I admit, I'd be too terrified to try it in LA. I live in Anaheim and it can pretty nasty.
It's a meat-up.
Rise the drake What's a drake and kobold? I keep seeing them anywhere, but they just seem like anthro lizards. What's the difference?
Chris D Drakes are either four legged western dragons (ege. Ferals) or any male dragons. Depends on the context.
Rise the drake Oh wow, that's a lot simpler than I was expecting.
Chris D Filthy, disgusting creaturea that should be purged.
Keep up the work guys love what you’re doing
do cars actually beep that much in the US?
Dude I came to ask the same! I thought Cmike added some background beeping sounds in post! hahaha.
Bupeldox no
i'm pretty sure that's all put in. all the horns sounded like foley instead of being recorded on the same mic he was using
Biking in L.A. is not the most ideal. But it sure is fun. Especially when you have a beer just waiting to be opened in your backpack!
Jake, please definitely wear a helmet, there are some cool ones too.
What about an electric motorcycle?
Daniel B never talked about environment and/or prices. Seeing him cross the street like that made me think that maybe a motorbike would be safer, with respect to the bike. Electric just comes from his "alternative electric transportation" thing. Plus, a motorcycle would allow him to move easily/fast around the city
That corridor crew banner look sick! Love it!
In most places not wearing a helmet like that is illegal, mainly because you can die doing that. You might want to be careful.
HeyJD
Is it? I can only think of one country where helmet wearing is compulsory
I love biking!! I’m a sophomore and I ride my bike at least 3 to 4 miles every day to school!! Another thing is I like to dress nice!! I wear a full suit to school!! I get up in the morning and ride my bike in a full suit 3 to 4 miles a day to a fro school in 80 degree weather!! I understand what you went through! Personally I love it and it helps keep me in shape!! Loved the video!
It still freaks my out watching Americans cycle without helmets. Its mandatory Law here in Australia and as a cyclist i cant live without mine
Also Pannier racks my dude help on that awesome bike
Proud to be a Crew-ton
For a guy with a law degree, I'm surprised you were not wearing a helmet while riding a bike in non-biking city, while vlogging! That just Crazy! Are the laws different in L.A? If so, they should be changed.
Also, now that is been brought up. Do you wear a helmet when riding your motorbike?
Recently just moved to Oregon and the area I live in basically gives the bike riders the right away, really cool since I don’t own a car
not using a helmet is uncool, especially after talking about how dangerous your city is. I thought you guys were above thinking safety isn't as important as fashion
But don't wearing a helmet
Isn't Just about fashion it is also about convenience and don't messing up your hair
Ernst Otto Oehler I always think.of it like this, I'd rather comb messy hair than comb chunks of brain out of my hair.
Many studies have shown that while road biking, helmets increase the risk of an accident
Hello Corridor Crew. You guys are amazing!
I don't need to watch for the results.. I know it is faster, less expensive: no parking, no gas, can work on your own bike. I sold my car 11 years ago and haven't' missed it.
You can buy bags that hang on each side of the bagage carrier, everybody here in NL uses them, we call them grocery bags. That way you wont get a sweaty back from a heavy backpack pressing down on it and still carry Some luggage.
Come to China, see what non pedestrian friendly really is like, LA is a piece of cake compared to China.
TehBunnieh So sad. Grew up with the pictures of wide Beijing streets filled with bicycles (in my school books, nowhere near China).
Loving the new intro guys!
