Whats the matter with you people? "The tone is to buzzy" "Horrible Sound" "Horrible Tone" make your own video with your own sound. This stuff is GREAT, and much appreciated. Tone and sound is in the "ear" of the beholder. Great work and personally I think its DYNAMITE sounding. People making these idiotic comments most likely can't even tune their guitars. Great job Dave, the tones and sounds all sound great when theres powerhouse licks like these behind them.
Can’t get enough Gary Moore. Nice playing, Dave. Despite what the trolls are saying- your tone has a nice bite to it and the definition of the notes really ring through. There isn’t a lot of Gary’s lick interpretation on RUclips because the bar is set so high.

We filmed this lesson so long ago, I dont remember the signal chain exactly but I think it was Dave's les paul into a tube screamer which I think was an Ibanez TS9 if I remember correctly and then into the front of a tube amp that we had miked off camera. Probably a splash of reverb in there as well. It was a pretty simple setup and often he was on that neck pickup on the les paul. Sounds like the distortion on my old Pod XT which i buried in my neighbours garden, bastard! Then again, it is difficult to play these fast Gary Moore licks without to much distortion.

tone just like styles are based on opinions..to me great video to show how to play, however the tone is way too thin...but like i said..its just my opinion
Yeah, this sounds about as aggressive as fruit salad with ice cream. You need an aggressive tone, more natural, we want to hear some wood. You need to turn everything up and ditch the tinny buzz. You can play, but you need the right tone man. Peace.
TRUTHLORD Your an idiot. The style is very aggressive. He doesn’t need to turn up MonkeyLord, he’s showing 5he riffs and the fingering, which is what you do to your fruit salad and ice cream. You have no wood, you can’t even measure up.
This video showed me that a good tone ist essential. Even if you are a mediocre player. Because here, in this video I see the following. Great guitar, great amp, very good playing - but the tone is just s..t. What a pity.
He should have used that Matchless amp maybe it would have sounded good because this is one of the worst sounds ever and really has nothing to do with Gary Moore.But the playing is pretty good sometimes.
