I was at the Macca concert last night. Fantastic. However, here's my advice .... NEVER EVER EVER go to a concert at the "Manchester Coop Live" folks. They do NOT deserve your business. They will rip you off MERCILESSLY every step of the way. And I'm far from the only person saying it. Ripoff car parking costs, on TOP of your ticket. Instead of providing the car parking WITH the ticket you've already paid an extravagant price for, these vultures have then outsourced the car park costs to "Premier Parking" who will demand a further TWENTY pounds from you. You will then find your car jammed in three cars deep, so you will be delayed massively when arriving and leaving. MORE? You will then face sickening ripoff prices for every single drink ordered at the bar inside. £9.00 for a glass of wine? £10.00 for a Guinness? On what possible justification? MORE? Feeling hungry? Forget it. You will be charged £14.00 for a truly revolting hot dog. MORE? And worst of all, they will encourage you to arrive early for the gig, but deliberately and cynically keep the doors closed tight - even when it's cold or raining - and then try to charge you £5.00 for letting you in out of that rain / cold. WHAT CAN WE DO THOUGH? It's beyond my understanding that the Coop has been allowed to get away with this blatant price-gouging of innocent concert goers. What a SHITTY way to treat its customers. What an embarrassment to the Co-op's founding PRINCIPLES. And what a STAIN on Manchester's regional, national and international reputation too. We do not and must not put up with it. Let's teach the Coop a REALLY harsh lesson folks. Boycott the effing place unless and until ALL of these outrageous practices are halted.
Dude, all arenas are terrible. But you could always do what I did and get public transport there and back (cost me £3.10) and not buy and overpriced food and drink. If you can't go three hours without eating or drinking, I mean... 🤷 As long as people like you keep spending £14 on a hot dog they'll keep selling them for £14.
@@MikesGigDiary__ These big shows are just money making machines now. They are all at it. Even at an average ticket price of 200 seat the takings last night would be 5 million minimum (do the math).
I wish he would fire Rusty and replace him with someone who is more sympathic to the original songs. The guitar on Drive my Car was NOT heavy rock guitar. What a dreadful rendition of that classic Beatles song. Ditto Jet - totally ruined by Rusty. And he overplays on Band on the Run too. Sorry - but to my ears Rusty is just the wrong choice for these songs.
@@GarrattFamilyBased on the last, oh, sixty years of Paul's career, I would venture the reason Rusty has been playing with Paul for so long he that he is happy to play *exactly* what Paul wants him to play, nothing more and nothing less. I don't think a new guitarist would change anything about how these songs are played.
@@MikesGigDiary__ You are probably correct. Wix is musical director so he would have an input too. For playing Beatles numbers I think the best band was with Hamish Stuart and Robbie Macentosh. I find Rusty is over playing it. Robbie did not do that. But what do I know really? Its up to Paul at the end of the day who plays what.
