  • Ottawa, Ontario's transit system, OC Transpo, has a "bus only" Transitway network. Hurdman Station is at an intersection of two Transitway branches just east of downtown. All buses passing through the station have to cross the intersection that I was taking video from. In the background is a layover area for buses that originate and terminate at Hurdman. Not shown in the background-left is another exit used by eastbound buses.
I shot this video on September 17th, 2012 from 3:15 to 4:00pm. In that 45-minute period, I actually ended up with 40 minutes of video, which gives you an idea of how many buses passed through the station after seeing the 10 minutes I lifted to post here.

This no longer exists in preparation for LRT opening in 2018. There is still a bus station here but it has been redesigned and does receive this level of bus traffic.

I noticed that back in July. Going to have to do a re-do once the Confederation Line opens up.

How come the TTC citybuses Canada has aren't in NYC or NYS? We need some of these buses, man, for the MTA needs to restore the bus routes they took off a half decade ago.

One of the worse transits in Canada. Designed from the start to be bad to get provincial and federal funds for a subway system. When all that is needed, is a better designed transit system that doesn't have so many buses going downtown, and a truck by pass route, with a better transit link with Gatineau, to get transport trucks and Gatineau buses off Rideau street.
