- Welcome wonderful souls to another episode of Brush With Death! Today, Grim will be redesigning the Gym Leaders from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet into new pokemon typings! Including their new ace pokemon as new variants! Who is your favourite Gym Leader?

If I was a gym leader, I’d be a normal type gym leader. I’d be the second gym leader. I’d use a litleo, pidgeotto, and my ace is girafarig. As you can see, two of my normal types take neutral damage from fighting types.

Seeing that Tarountula made me hungry, and Smolgi's name is PERFECT. But I think Tadead has to be my favorite, it looks so cute and so creepy at the same time.
Also i noticed Tarountula's name is the same as the normal one, so i was trying to come up with a name and all i got is Tarantelado, from Tarantula, and Helado (ice cream in Spanish) lol
And if I was a Gym Leader I'd be ghost type probably!

I would be a "normal" Gym Leader.
I would be the 8th to battle (because we never had one like that before), and the big surprise for the challenger would be that I didn't have a type specialty because I'm a "normal" Trainer who got the offer to become a Gym Leader later in his journey.
As such, I chose:
1. My favorite Pokémon, who traveled alongside me.
2. A diverse variety to cancel out type weaknesses.
If you think "that's unfair," come on, I'm the 8th Gym Leader, the last challenge before the Top 4 and the Champion.
And I got permission of the Pkmn League, so good luck!

Oh I would definitely be a poison-type gym leader, since it's my favorite type, with Crobat as my ace, and Gengar as a close second.
I absolutely love psychedelic Brassius. It should be a bold move for Game Freak to add something like that on an official game, but then again it's Pokémon, who knows what kind of stuff they would actually do. I love eveything about his design and all the art inspiration.
I'm also in love with Arboliva's convergent. Shiinotic is one of my favorite mons, and Arbodelics draws from some of the same sources. The concept of a "funny" mushroom Pokémon is so trippy!
I'll end with Iono's design, but I could ramble about all your stuff for the whole week LOL. It was so clever to think of a green screen dress so she looks like an actual ghost on stream. I love the concept.

All of these designs are so good! The attention to detail you've put into these (Such as the Iono green-screen detail) is absolutely amazing! If I were a gym leader, I think I'd want to be either a poison or ice type gym leader!

If I were a gym leader, I would either focus primarily on normal types or fairy types
My main three Pokemon would be tauros, snorlax, and chansey.
I could see myself being either a Ground, Dragon, or Fire type gym leader.

These are some awesome designs of Gym Leaders w/ different types. Especially both Brassius and Iono! Those two looked really good!

Type: Steel
Region: Any region (with any mechanics and national dex, cuz I can)
Puzzle: You'd be on a metal platform, travelling through the gym, where you have to fight 5 gym trainers, but there's a twist: you have to finish each fight as fast as possible and if you finish even one fight after going over the required turns (let's say 5), you'd crash into a wall (which will be soft to land on, don’t wanna get sued for any potential injury the challengers might get 😅😅😅) and have to start all over again. If you finish a fight under 5 turns, you can move on (similar to the restaurants fights in X/Y/ORAS, except the restart and “each fight” parts)
Team: Aggron (my lead) with Sturdy, Custap Berry, and haves Stealth Rock, Iron Head, Stone Edge, and Earthquake (its job is just to set up Stealth Rock, in order to shut down any fire types, and can potentially get some priority chip damage with one of its attacks, unless the opponent haves Mach Punch or something, which would be sad)
Magnezone with Sturdy, Steel Gem, and haves Thunder Wave, Tri Attack, Flash Cannon, and Thunderbolt (just like Aggron, it haves one, yet different job: paralyze its target, and after that, if I somehow either get lucky with a paralysis or outspeed, I can fire off a Steel Gem boosted Flash Cannon)
Empoleon with Competitive, Leftovers, and haves Scald, Flash Cannon, Ice Beam, and Whirlpool (my only STAB answer to both Fire and Ground types, and also, Scald haves a good chance of crippling any physical attackers)
Lucario with Inner Focus, Focus Sash, and haves Close Combat, Flash Cannon, Earthquake, and Dragon Pulse (the team's glass cannon and mixed attacker, whose job is to do as much damage as possible before going down)
Corviknight with Mirror Armor, Leftovers, and haves Brave Bird, Iron Head, Bulk Up, and Body Press (good luck hitting that thing with Ground type moves)
Ace: Metagross (my ace, who will be shiny, cuz why not) with Clear Body, Metagrossite, and haves Bullet Punch, Psychic Fangs, Meteor Mash, and Earthquake (my ace whose Mega I only bring out against the strongest challengers yet)
As for the order, I’d probably be one of the later gyms, likely second to last, if not last

Love these designs these are definitely some awesome reimagining of the characters and Pokemon I hope you'll continue with the other gym Leaders of Gen 9 or Heck if you want to go crazy try swapping team Star members types I bet that would be interesting anyways nice video I'm subscribing for sure now.

Damn you are underrated, this video is already one of my favourite fakemon ones. The fact you didn't just give the Leaders a new design but redesigned their signature pokemon is so freaking cool!!! Favourite leader here is probably Iono and favourite pokemon is probably Arbodelics.
If I were a gym leader I would be a poison type leader. As I'm a physicist in real life, I would have a lab based gym, but to make it stand out I would set it inside a castle, like an alchemist lab. I would have the appearance of a mad scientist and as I'm gay, I would personify that queer coded villain energy so everything would be oh so grandiose.

I love flying Veluza! Veluza in general is great.
Without a doubt, I'd be an ice type, or dark type gym leader. I'm a bit of a specialist in ice types in game as it is, as for dark, I have a bit of a habit of collecting animals that people are afraid of as pets, so I thought collecting misunderstood and feared Pokémon totally fits my vibe

If I were a gym leader, I would probably be either a ghost, Fairy or water type, ghost because I grew up an area well known for its paranormal activity, Fairy because they've got some of the most fun secondary types to play with, and Water because I really like swimming
This is like Fool’s Gold but for Gym Leaders
Now I wonder what Team Star would be like with swapped around types too!

I’d probably be either a Bug Type Gym Leader due to the Bug type being my favorite type that’s essentially an Entomologist with a “Butterfly Garden” as my gym aesthetic. Or I would be a Steel Type Gym Leader since I love robots and futuristic settings in fiction. My gym aesthetic would be either a Factory or a Testing Facility much akin to the Portal Series.
I would either be a bug or water type gym leader.
For my bug gym I would probably have multiple bug poster, and random bug books and pictures scattered around the room and I would have a Leavanny, Galvantula,Frosmoth,Volcarona and Orbeetle For my water gym I would just have an ocean theme with paintings of water type Pokémon and seashell wall paper. My team would be Lapras,Vaporeon,Clawitzer,Araquanid and Primarina as my ace.
I loved all the pokemon redesigns more than the original mons. My fave human redesign was Iono.

Hm. Tough one to pick a Gym Leader, but I think I'd go for Ghost Type, and use "Ancient Civilization" team; Golurk, Aegislash/Doublade, Polteageist, Spiritomb and for ace Ceruledge.

When I saw the thumbnail, I stupidly assumed the new types were to reflect the pokemon they would terrastilise:
Katy - Teddiursa (Normal)
Brassius - Sudowoodo (Rock)
Iono - Mismagius (Ghost)
Kofu - Crabominable (Ice/Fighting)
Larry - Staraptor (Flying)
Ryme - Toxtricity (Poison/Electric)
Tulip - Florges (Fairy)
Grusha - Altaria (Dragon)
I did consider that as the type swap actually, but really katy being normal type felt meh for me so i decided on just swapping types with each other
I love ghost type Iono 💖 I can hardly wait to see the rest of the gym leaders 💖 so many of my favorite Pokémon are normal type, so I feel like that’s the kind of gym leader I’d be, with a Smeargle or possibly a new form of it as my ace.

If I would be a gym leader, Id be Normal Type. My Ace would be Raticate or Herdier.
Also, I like how grave-based pokemon doesn NOT have Ground or Type. Yes, its fitting. But this way it feels more "canon". Nintendo would never make Ghost/Rock pokemon.

Great designs, however I think the colors on Brassius are a bit too much saturated, more black spots from the waist down would help the design by letting our eyes rest before moving to the complex patterns of the suit. Still fits his personalitty really well tho;

tbh whenever the question comes up about if i was a gym leader i struggle between fairy and ghost... so i thought... why not both? id probably use a double battle team featuring mimikyu, morgrem, greavard and azumarill. my rematch team would consist of the evolved versions of greavard & morgrem, as well as a sylveon and chandelure! the only problem is the team's ace (mimikyu) can pretty much be swamped by ghost and steel types, plus the houndstone line has a 2x weakness to dark, and ofc i have 2 that can be easily taken down with poison, as well as electric and grass for azumarill. ooof.
those are awesome team members! fairy type has so many really cool designs too
I mean if trainers drink Milk from their Milktank and carry that milk in their bag to heal their pokemon. SpiderMilk should be fine.
