This worked exactly as demonstrated - took me all of about 20 minutes including disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. I wish I had tried this first.
Thanks A LOT. My wife’s 2011 ford edge had a P0455 code. I did the trick with the WD40 and fill funnel and disconnected the negative cable and voila’ no check engine light! Thanks for the tip!

Actually, the tool is for adding fuel with a gas can on the side of the road or something, because it has a tamper-proof design so you can siphon gas from it. Having said that, yes, you’re right. The design sucks, and modern Fords are garbage. 😂 This is my first and last Ford.

What this capless technology proves is the necessity of an actual gas cap.
I just went through this. You definitely have to clleaan the rubber seal around the door and on the body in addition to the filler hole

I tried this, and replaced the purge valve but I still have it coming up with the code(about a week later each time) what do I check next?
Aside from a smoke test, you could check the engine air filter. Check the code also to see if it’s a big or small leak.
Would be nice if it was this easy but it's probably the vapor canister.

Will the car ever auto clear the code on a 2021 model? I have a 2021 mustang and I did what ford suggested and I don’t have a code clearer.
You can unhook the battery for at least 5-minutes to clear the code. You can also go to AutoZone or Advance. They have code readers.
I have a problem with the 2018, when I pour fuel, the engine has trouble starting and the mint checks.

You have a big evap leak like it’s big that’s what happened to my 08 impala should go get that fixed or sell it fast
No it means your vent hose is pinched...check vent hose coming out of gas tank...could be pinched or kinked or a bad vent valve.
