  • The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 adventure bike has been revamped just four years after its introduction, gaining a 13% boost in power from its inline-Triple, plus new TFT instrumentation, sharper styling, and updated electronics. The GT and GT Pro versions skew toward the sport-touring market, and the Tiger 900 Rally Pro is intended for tackling off-road terrain using a 21-inch front tire and riding on wire-spoke wheels.
To give us a chance to put the Tigers through their paces, Triumph invited us to southern Spain for two days of riding. The first day would be entirely on asphalt in the hills north of Málaga, while the second day was spent almost entirely off-road on some amazingly twisty and scenic trails in El Torcal de Antequera nature preserve.

After 35+ years on five different GS models, I’m happy to say I am REALLY happy with my ‘23 Tiger 1200 RE. Now that the 900 has caught up with it, I’m thinking they’d make a nice pair in the garage. Well done, Triumph!

I clicked on this expecting a review but find it absent. The video should have been titled "Tiger 900, 2024: description of specifications"

hopefully the data on display is programmable in layout by firmware; or moveable like smart phones to put items where they belong; in the future.

I hear the pannier racks and crash bars on 2024 GT Pro are not compatable with 22,23. Things moved around and no 3rd party has them yet for 24' . Disappointing as Shad had them for eyars 22,23. to match my boxes. So comfy, maneuverable and ez handling. !!!

Kevin, great review. Can you comment on the new handlebar dampers installed to reduce vibration?

      yes rubber dampens vibration

    • @twowheeldanger

Thanks! The dampers definitely take a bit of tingle out of the bars. More importantly, they're not so squishy that they filter out front-end feedback.

How is the refinement of the t-plane engine for touring..is the vibrations on the higher side?

      All bikes vibrate

      @PovilasPanavas 4 месяца назад

@@beetleything1864 but not all do the same. Also, not all vibrations are equal. Tiger 900 vibrations on that side where they are annoying instead of adding character. Also, there's difference between Rally Pro and GT versions. GT Pro 2024 almost completely smooth, while Rally Pro 2024 vibrations still can be felt. Tested both on Tuesday for 1.5h. Easy test is to just put cruise control on, on 6th gear, and touch handlebars with fingers at 65, 70, 75, 85. GT Pro vibrates way less.
Now, is Rally Pro vibrations acceptable? It depends. For example, the bike I road had accessory foot-pegs, which meant no rubber inserts. And after 1.5h, my left foot was tingling after the ride. This means, one shouldn't be planning to use off-road foot-pegs without rubber mounts on these. If one plans to put them, it will be a problem.
Left hand wasn't tingling yet, but there was a feeling that it was about to. Probably another 0.5h on the road, and left hand would have tingled as well.
GT Pro doesn't cause anything like this. Salesman stipulated it's because of different suspension and geometry.
Others also noticed the same difference in vibration between 2023 year GT vs Rally models. GT is simply much smoother no matter if new or previous model.

I didn't have any issues with vibration intruding on my experience with the bike. New rubber dampers for the handlebar mount help quell vibes. I'd ride it across the country and not complain.

No comment on the linked brakes

Because they weren't at all an issue for me. The addition of an IMU to the linked-brakes equation makes them nearly indistinguishable.

Oh, how much I want the Rally Pro. I‘ve done 20,000km on my Tiger 850 Sport but really, really wish I‘d gone for the Rally Pro instead.

i'd redo the menu's to not have as many folders with one items; for no reason; tpms, and cooland temps can be on one screen; ez to get at with one flick of the finger; all menu's data ca be combined on 3 screens max. hard to get to anything while driving. Why. I'd like the RPM in dignal below speed. Even gas data is on another screen !! See how ez it is on bmw.

digital; half size numbers; below or above speed. - imo. The bar to raise lower windshield. Really; l put in a 1" bar that serves as a phone bar. Looks and feels better. !
