The China-Laos Railway is a key project under the Belt and Road Initiative. It's also a landmark in bilateral cooperation and a symbol of friendship between the two countries. As of June, it is estimated to have transported well over 3 million passengers within China and Laos and around 4 million tonnes of freight. Let's witness how the China-Laos Railway has changed the lives of the people living along it.

For a landlocked country like Laos, this railway route is a huge opening. Congrats China and Laos.
Functionally it's a bloodline.
way to go!
Laos is a backwater country. There is not a demand for this level of transportation.
@@oldmech619 Laos is a backwater country. That is all the more reason to have this transportation. Remember this is the first ever railway track in Laos.
Without infrastructure, Roads, Rail, Ports, Schools, Hospitals Reservoirs and Waste Water Treat plants poor countries remain in a “POVERTY TRAP OF STAGNATION”. Infrastructure is the essential platform for countries to grow and modernize.@@oldmech619
Well done, Laos and China. Congrats!👏👏👏
Long live Laos and China
it has been a long way for china to get to the top from the bottom in 30-40 years. Hats off to the hard working Chinese people
As a Lao/Chinese I am grateful and hopeful for all of Asia. 🇱🇦💗🇨🇳
Huge changed, As a Lao people I'm very proud to this railway project.
Big thanks 🇨🇳&🇱🇦
Laos and its people and the economy will move very fast from now. Good luck!
Beware the usa Trojan horse Asia must guard Asia against European war criminals see what they do to Russia and Cuba 60 yrs sanctions
Wow. You've opened my eyes to the many unsung heroes who make the magic off high speed railway possible.
Great video. Thank you
Great stuff. Win win for both countries and people's, not just the country but the people from rural villages. This is how china lifted 850 million from poverty and now china is sharing the wealth, tech, and opportunities.
What a liar you are.....850 million....lies.....the whole video is staged.....what happened to all the real Loasians.....in prison!
Trains challenge shipping as trains open up economy!.
Wonderful insight into Laos society and workers dedication to keep society and elephants safe (it costs - they find the money!.). Great to see workers from villages( hard to get to long bus journey) start their careers- as Tourism /railway B change their lives!. 8
Win win poor villagers become part of economy as staggering facts on number of trains a day and amount of containers a day changing Laos forever more to do but economy transformed with China "Belt and Road" infrastructure and funding"6!. I thought my admiration for China "Belt and Road" was getting used to surprises but this video opened my eyes watching Laos Leader and staff jumping up and down as Chinese leader authorised first train authorised to start journey - Chinese leader in Bejing joined in with Laos dignitaries and his envoy (Li sees Belt and Road as his gift to the World - under Mao he worked as a peasant and had to work his way up the Chinese political politics ladder! He loves and understands why Laos is so pleased Li has authorised/financed their railway!
So touching and inspiring.
He learned Chinese in 4 years?!? Perfect pronunciation. Very impressive. Top level young man. Well done.
Most westerners think Laos first HSR happened because China wants to dominate Laos. Very few of them appreciate about half of the HSR is inside China and China needs it to develop this part of the Yunnan province. The HSR provides high quality jobs to both countries. Since the HSR passes through Laos so those employed in Chinese side are required to be fluent in Laos and vice versa. This promotes better understanding of each other.
Prior to the Laos first HSR that span over 1,000km Laos had only 3.5km railway. That is a mother of rail developments making Laos having HSR earlier than all its neighbours.
Also the Laos first HSR spans end to end so instead of being a land lock country Laos is accessible to the rest of the world via the China side now while on completion of Thailand's first HSR later Laos has rail access to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Laos will benefit economically when any future trade between China and the RCEP countries passing Laos by trains. This HSR is like a money printing machine!
If anyone wants to know a win win project Laos first HSR will be a prime example.
That’s because western people wanted to dominate Laos and rests of the world. Just look at all the unexploded ordinances left over by these disgusting people. Fortunately China is here to spoil their plans.

你是对的!
Wonderful story!
Most westerners think Laos first HSR happened because China wants to dominate Laos.
---------- Westerners think this because they did this in colonial times and are doing same nowadays , the proverb tell the truth: A thief believes everybody steals.🤣
I fly aeroplane for a living . I would love to take the train from SG all the way to china! I hope I get to do my bucket list before I leave this world. Thank you china for making it happen. I am looking forward to the day.
Fly to Vientiane and take the fastest train in SEA to LPB. Relax few days in LPB. Cheap hotel and great food. I just done it. Don't wait for another 20 years to go all the way from Sg, it may not happen.
From Malaysia here... Looking forward to enjoy this bullet train trip to China...
I heard Malaysia canceled the high-speed railway project with China, wasn't it?
Singaporean here. I'm seriously looking forward to riding a bullet train from Singapore all the way to China.
If decisions can be made by Malaysia and Thailand quickly you're looking at 2040-45 before you can make the journey
@@heesingsia4634 Totally agree with you !!
欢迎来中国🇨🇳。
i will freakin fly to singapore and ride the train all the way to china, stopping at every country. that would be a trip and a half.
Good to see that its a passenger train well done China reuniting Asian countries in trade and friendship blessings
The line also serve flight trains!
@@gunsumwong3948 great thanks I’m glad that China improves other countries infrastructure where as the western countries still practise colonialism if they develop in other lands.
@@gunsumwong3948 Dunno what they are? Anyway I love railways where ever they are. Would you have criticised the British for building Indian railways?
@@likklej8 Educate me. Has the British built any railway after India became an independent country of its own? Or are you referring those railways built when the British was ruling India as a colony?
@@gunsumwong3948 Yes in colonial days as they did in their colonies not much since apart from Eurostar was a EU joint effort. U.K. just follow the USA these days like a puppy
Amazing infrastructure development between China and Laos that benefit each other. Good job!
My salute and respect to all those behind the scene heroes who made the HSR transportation possible and safe. As the old saying “要想富先修路 If wants to be rich, build roads first", the Kunming-Laos railway turned Laos from a land locked country to a land connected country, the future of Laos will be tremendously bright
Communist China “is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful government I’ve ever known in my life.”
向所有的勞苦辛勤建設者致敬。
This is truly an amazing story of cooperation between Laos and China, leading to great benefits for both countries. Big brother China bringing younger brother into the future together.
This Railway will help Laos improve her people way of living. It will haul Laos extra produce agriculture, mineral ores, to the north, while bring in manufactured good down at a less expensive prices. A win to Laos people.
🇨🇳 🇲🇴 🇭🇰 IS 👍 👌 👍 UNITING ASIAN NATIONS THRU E HSR WHICH BRINGS TRADES N ECONOMIES TO A WINWIN FUTURE ❤ 🤲 ❤ 🤲 ❤ 🤲 ❤ 🤲 ITS 👏 🙀 😯 😮 😲 👏 🙀 😯 😮 😲
Great Achievement 👌👌
Hope someday this Railway will link India (Imphal, Manipur state). Kunming (China)- Vientiane (Laos) - Sukhothai (Thailand) - Mandalay (Myanmar) - Imphal (India) . This would bring great prosperity to the region.
Kudo China-Laos friendship. Greatest project of the century.
Long live Laos and China
Laos and Asean can look forward to more trade with China via this new railway . Kudos to the builders for giving the people of China and Laos a means to develop economic opportunities for the benefit of their people. 👍👍👍
Long live Laos and China
Good over evil 😂 🙏🙏🙏 God blessed China 🎉🌄
i agree
I love how the girl talked about her day to day work with pride and joy.
China will be Greatest country in the world
Chinese language is not easy to learn. It means he is sharp and very organized brains not missing spots nor slight indifference. Both language speakers have wings to fly zone between A- B flawlessly.
Better than G7 infrastructure program. Oh wait they haven't done shit yet and Build Back Better last year already died before it is implemented
US and UK gave Laos bombs and cancers from Agent Orange. So don't forget their gifts.
BBB died a natural death.
@@Zerpentsa6598 Also mines, until today.
Man I love the Chinese foreign policy. No matter how much hate and propaganda is spread but you can't hold back China's impact on the developing world. The future is in the hands of China
Impressive engineering. Kudos to the nameless construction workers on this railway.
Good news 🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳👌👌 love and respect China 🇨🇳 💪🇨🇳🙏 from France
The guy in this video looks a very humble man.
Best Wishes 🙏
China for centuries has always visit far away countries . She secured friend and business . Never to start war
A wow here as well very impressive what a huge achievement . Thank you so much.
Inspiring documentary. Best wishes to both your continued cooperation and success. I hope to ride on that HSR when the borders reopens. I’m a Malaysian
Heartfelt joy to see it happening and the launching ceremony by both leaders of Laos & China 👏👏👏👍🎉🎊🎉🎊
China actions speak by it selves. Their contribution to developing countries is admirable. Totally different of what warmonger powers have been doing so far
Undoubtedly, haters would say 'Oh, this is forced labour!'
Yeah it's against their human rights to ride on the high speed train
instead of taking the slow bus 😂
Truly appreciate the two governments and every staff members who contributed to the success of China-Laos Railway. Looking forward
to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing by train in the distance future.
In sharp contrast, during the 9-year long Vietnam War, in order not to allow the Vietnamese weapon be sent to the Vietnam battle fields via Laos, US Airforce had systematically dropped more than two billions bombs in Laos, of which more than 8,000 millions remain unexploded to date.
You’d better check your numbers. 8,000 million is equal to 8 billion.
Jeremy Xu, whatever the number, it created hardships for the people of Laos...many of us mericans feel sad and ashamed at what was done in Asia. We hope our leaders will learn to value friendship and harmony soon.
I love trains and this is fantastic. It is built for humans and elephants alike. Wonderful!
Congratulations to both countries, great to see features for the elephants!
Brazil needs one of those
Long live Brazil and China
And then some western country comes in and say there are no free lunch while sitting there doing nothing but lecture.
Wow, Laos has this beautiful train...wow...👏 👏
My best wishes to the Lao people
I am so glad they build a bridge to let the elephant pass. 15million USD beyond the budget. great job!
Wow. One rail way which faced many challenges to construct but it will be very transformative in the lives of many people.
It's a great accomplishment in recent history. Well done 👏
From lao thailand malaysia
Spore cambodia vietnam
I have observed that PROC love changes and helping people to improve their economy. Chinese love to work, love to build and love all people to succeed.
Good initiatives..
Fantastic video and a fantastic project, helping both countries grow and improve peoples lives!
PRC, It’s about touching people’s heart
WOW! I didn't realize it is better to transport goods by train than sea. Of course it is better for passengers. Bravo to the dogged determination to cut the tunnel! I love that the young people of both Laos & China are finding rewarding, fulfilling direction in their lives. To feel that one is forwarding progress for one's country as well as all people who come in contact with your work (hundreds of thousands of passengers!) is one kind of happiness.
Fantastic work China, more humanity for all mankind
fantastic achievement great feat of engineering well done China and Laos. James Bergin airdrie Scotland UK. 🏴👍💐👍💐👍💐👍💐👍🏴
Really looking forward to traveling to Laos by this railway, gonna to be a great trip!
What nature denied Laos, China provided.....lucky neighbor....!
THIS VIDEO TOUCH MY EMOTIONAL FEELING. IMAGINING, HOW THIS RAILWAY CHANGED SO MUCH THE COUNTRY, THE LIVES OF HUMAN BEINGS, AND THE FUTURE OF THE COUNTRY AND LAOS PEOPLE. LAOS/CHINA, THE FUTURE IS YOURS!!! (from Brazil) "CONGRATULATIONS"
I wish that this railway gets extended to Singapore some day.
It will happen because the momentum is unstoppable. Remember Thailand HSR is under construction, China is breaking through Himalayas to link up by rail with Nepal, there is an extensive existing rail links already between China with the entire Europe and a new rail link for China with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan is about to commence.
@Fred Flint Thailand is ready but work there is very slow and Singapore too is ready but depends on Malaysia which doesn't seem to show any interest for it at the moment
@Fred Flint who told you so. there are hiccupped but it will be connected.
@The Mythbuster It is the old mathadir doing when he was PM.
WAIT UNTIL E 🐄 🐮 🐄 COME 🏡 🏠 🏡 🏠 🏡
Great people and great reporting! Salute!
Thank you for subtitles ! you often forgot then video value for western people is close to zero.
The part of vid when they talk about solutions for elephants interfere the rail is fascinating.
Wow , the engineering itself to build it is amazing, let alone the impact it will have on Laos economy, 15km tunnel, a very hard tunnel to build by the looks of the problems associated with it , built in 4 years !!!!, my city is building a rail tunnel of 3.5km , already 4 years past and only half done and billions over budget, China knows how to build stuff fast and safely
If one were to ask..what has CHINA got to show for? Just go to Africa, Laos, Cambodia,Thailand , Indonesia and many countries that china has collaborated with . infrastructure. If one were to ask what has USA got to show for.. just visit Afghanistan,Iraq, Syria ..etc .
Super.
Please bring the HSR to Malaysia so that we can travel from Malaysia and then on to the Trans Siberian Railway. Thank you China. 🌹🌹🌹
Quoted by you:
"Please bring the HSR to Malaysia"
haha
maybe in another 5 to 10 years time ???
@@putianren Showed how much you know about the HSR. The ECRL is a BRI project and the contract is in place from the Padang Besar town to Johore Bahru line to be built. You want to troll and showcase your ignorance and stupidity.
UR COUNTRY GOVT RE JECTED CHINA^S PROPOSAL TWICE TO BUILD HSR...
好像马来西亚领导不同意修建了。

Wow, very interesting 👍🏿💖💯🙏🏿
Super well done!
With the opening of the Laos-China HSR
Laos will be the fastest growing economy in
South East Asia countries !!
And eventually will surpass all countries in SEA !!!
Long live the friendship of Laos & China !!!
It would be interesting to know how many and what types of deadly explosive devices dropped by the USA into Laos illegally were recovered and neutralised during the construction of the Laos-China HSR.
Congratulations to Laos 🇱🇦 and China all goods products and much more with come over to ASEAN country
China Laos line took 6 years to complete.
In the US getting such project approval from Congress alone would take a decade....oh wait, they haven't even started yet.
Empty rhetoric again.
Great news for Laos and China. Have they managed to clear all the mines left by the US during the war in Vietnam?
Laos should bill the USA for the cost of removing all the bombs illegally dropped into Laos, the people killed and maimed and properties damaged. If the USA is a responsible and accountable country, it should pay these compensations without question.
The US dropped 270 million cluster bombs and there are still 80 million bombs waiting to be cleared...
工作人員辛苦了,您們是最棒的!感動感恩!
Good documentary on people's progress for both China and Laos .,👍🙏
LAOS must be LUCKY enough having CHINA as a good neighbors.
Hoping to ride this line and visit Laos someday in the future.
Great video
Congratulations to the people on both sides for this amazing achievement, let peace and prosperity continue
💚💚💚
This is exactly what the USA feared the most! - More progress and developments in Asia and it’s all thanks to China! “You are supposed to be our slave and servant, not our competitor!” barks the USA at China!
What is impressive us the enthusiasm and comitment of employees on both sides, regardless if the great change!!!!

How come the U.S cannot do this like China for Laos and people to connect with the world community and giving a chances for the Lao people? All we hear from the U.S is turning Laos and the people down for decades and nothing progress or promised in the end until China came along.
Just realised that South Chinese looks very different from the north. I mean, it must have been obvious, but I've just realised it now.
Inspirational thanks
I would suggest though to also include Lao language whenever there's Chinese language especially when in Laos territory.
I think Laos letters on top Chinese and English language..in the rail station
