The only one that explain what this handled does thank you very much I appreciate that very much. I didn't want to put stuff in it before I knew what the heck to do. I watched a lot of videos and none of them explain what this handle did so thank you
I want to use this for spreading sand on pavers (for the crack-sand that goes in between paver stone driveways, patios, etc). Then I can just blow and sweep it more into the cracks. Do you think this product will work for that?
Called Scotts consumer help today. I have this spreader and wanted to know what setting to use to over sees my lawn with grass seed. I called twice and was told to put it on the 12 setting which opens the port about one inch. If i did this. The seed would virtually pour out to the ground. I got this info twice and was told if it was not their product, they could not provide a setting. Scotts consumer info is useless.
If it wasn't their fertilizer or product, how would they know what is the size of granules or product you are spreading? and then you consider them the bad people! Plus, if you are overseeding and used #12 setting and it did not work, then do some leg work and change the setting! Just pay a lawn care company to take care of the lawn. It is OK, it is not a task for everyone.
i bought this unit and used it today. The wheels kept locking up not sure why and spreading didn't seem to spread out over 5 ft like Scott's says. Alotta fertilizer collected in the wheels. My main grip is the thing kept locking up. I was using the Scott's winter fertilizer on the 3.5 setting like the bag says. Tried it in 5 setting but still lock ups. Frustrating
No, that's NOT what the Edgeguard is for! If you want to know, watch the Scott's video at ruclips.net/video/W6tuSuxgZqg/видео.html If you don't use the Edgeguard as intended, you might as well buy a different spreader.
I got it - it's plastic! Thank you Captain Obvious. You never discussed if there was any calibration needed. Video was so jerky that it gave me a headache.
I own this spreader and can tell you that its JUNK! There is a fatal error in the engineering. The idiots designed the spinning blade to be lower than the top of the wheels. The result is that the material being spread hits the wheels and then falls to the ground leaving a pronounced thick line of matter (fertilizer or seed) on the ground. There are many articles and videos on RUclips about the Edgeguard spreader's design problem. DON"T BUY IT!! You will be sorry if you do.

My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
the 2 plastic post that you took off the handle are for wall hanging the unit when not in use.

I used this every year spring no problem at all

12 is too high anyway unless you are dropping bricks
How do you calibrate it?
Can i use it for salt to melt the snow ?
plastic does no rust, which is what killed my last spreader.
Do I have to mow my lawn 1st?

Thank you!
It’s plastic so it won’t rust. Fertilizer is very corrosive. I put salt in it in the winter.
Ah good use for it during the winter
What’s the swath spreader distance on this one
Do you know what setting for 1lb per 1000 sq ft??

actual edge guard is on right side but control is on left...yeah that’s a real logical design.
I'm getting you a tri-pod for Christmas this year. I threw up twice during the viewing of this video. My vision still hasn't cleared up fully. :-)
what is the on and off switch for?
Anything in this video that is not obvious ?
I thought that this was supposed to be about the settings not a description of the material of the spreader. You can see that in the store.
It says, Review. Nothing about settings
"took delivery". Is this a new BMW or a lawn spreader? :)

I only say this because I care. There are a lot of decaffeinated products on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing.
Go to the doctor then fucktard
"I guess this/I think that". Why not just read the instruction booklet first so's you know what you're talking about?
Does it use batteries?
No
Yes, and it it flys too
this thing will stripe your lawn bad. over fertilization between the wheels as spindle is too low..
joke of a design. Stay away
to much plastic
That's so it doesn't corrode if you put rock salt in it for winter or something.
Never enough plastic. You like rust?
