It's really awesome that they went to the trouble of replacing the voice of the announcements if you end up killing the announcer during the Dunwall Tower mission. But it's really weird that they got *Carrie Fisher* to do those lines!
I always found it weird how they got such a big name in Carrie Fisher, and gave her such a bit part that you can actually miss it entirely if you’re playing low chaos and spare the announcer.
Two months ago i had to go outside during peak Corona to take care of my mother when suddenly i head a megaphone voice shouting: 'Attention Citizens of (my city name) stay at home, wear masks and stay as far as possible from any public contact' I had a weird ominous feeling of deja vu that reminded me of the Dishonored announcer during the High Overseer Mission.
Funny fact - the siren that plays at the beginning of each announcement is also used in the half life 2 RP map City 24 uses the exact same siren for it's announcement; after hearing the announcement it actually sounds like the same voice actor but it is clearly not.
One of the artists that made concept art for Half Life 2 also did work for Dishonored, there are a few vehicles that almost look like dieselpunk combine stuff.
you've got real good taste in which games to cover. It's sad that most people won't stick for the Dishonored stuff. Both games are chock full of stuff just waiting to be analyzed just how you did the Combine in Half-Life 2, but in your place, I wouldn't bother, it's not worth the effort.

Also, I don't know if there's a voiceline like that, but what if the announcer is dead (so replaced with a female voice) yet the lord regent was eliminated non-lethaly? (i don't know if it's possible, perhaps it isn't, but you still should try) And before you ask, I know this video is old, but no one else pointed this out (and I played the game this year fyi).
I don't own D2 for PC, and to be honest it took ages just to get this video done. I think I'll be returning to Half-life 2 after this, but maybe someday either myself or someone else will upload D2 content.

Yup I've used that Announcement tone to scare the fuck out of People in my Society during Pandemic! It was really Haunting for them. And I've put a lot of Stress on the 'Shoot at sight' phrase! 🙆
