It's not real, the video creator is using scenarios that aren't anything near reality. Nobody would run a gdkp dungeon, especially not a previous expansion dungeon. Just not a good video, I get parody but at least make it relevant and make sense. No funny reaction from me. :(
@@gonzalezruben8503 Boss... this was during TBC Classic. Yes it is still parody, but people do run GDKP dungeons.

This is funny to watch. Back in the day when I was first leveling through TBC with my cousin, my uncle was already level 70 on his hunter. He carried us through dungeons over and over every evening, and for hours on end during weekends. We had the best gear we could get from dungeons as we were leveling on my rogue and his warrior. I think my uncle was able to carry us until around 67 or so, then it got more difficult and we’d have to get a healer, another dps, and have my cousin go prot on his warrior to tank, but we still ran countless dungeons to get the best gear we could. Those were fun times. On the weekends we would pack up our computers and go over to my uncles house and play all Friday Night, all Saturday, and most of Sunday until Sunday evening when we’d load back up and go home. I’d get high with my uncle and just run dungeons all day, or heroics and raids once we hit 70. We had an absolute blast.

That Rich clip. Had a similar situation in a Molten Core GDKP:
The Shifting Sand Quest Goggles dropped. no one else was one quest, was after the even, so only wanted for completionism. Was about to get them, but everyone demanded they be bid because GDKP, laughing in discord. Item goes up, min bid was 25g. I put 25g. Rogue puts 150g. Laughs in discord, "ha ha ha! Don't you want to complete the quest? you HAVE to buy it! You HAVE to bid!" I heard him say while I was at the fridge getting a beer. The panic as the timer ticked down while I wasn't even at my desk, "Dude? Aren't you gonna bid? Dude? Bro? you gotta bid for your quest bro! BRO!?"
Organizer stopped run until he paid, but gave me the quest item because no one else could literally have them. Rogue begged me to give him some gold back because we were "guildies and friends" Omegalul.
This makes no sense, why would he give you the quest item if you won the bid?
@@deqa answer: Rouge didn't need quest item, but placed a bit to attempt to extort more money.
But as OP was around fridge at this moment he didn't bit over.
Rouge didn't need this item, nor he could take it as he had quest done. But he made bid.
So organizer took his bid from him (150g), but gave item to first bidder and only person that needed it
@@DimkaTsv According to him, the rogue who bid 150g never got the quest item, and OP did. So I don't think that's correct (according to his own words). More proof people just upboat anything, even if the OP contradicts his own zinger.
I can tell you though, I did mara boosts on Faerlina's launch and had an endless supply of customers, even with 6 other kids running it (before the Chinese got involved) and it was surely endless. Made like 30,000g in the first month... actually absurd. GDKP isn't any different, and that shouldn't be surprising to anyone. These same people who critique the GDKP mentality will find themselves buying and using the same services (if not, this time from Blizz for boosting). KEK
@@deqa because its a quest item you literally can't give it to people not on the quest. It had to go to someone since it was "paid for", so it went to me, the only one of the quest
Thank you ASMOND for even teaching people the dungeon finder. 8 months to a year ago. I got addicted to shadowlands, and realized. My dad has been playing WOW for 15+ years. And I realized he has never entered a raid until shadowlands. He literally never found raid finder and custom group

This is why we used to advertise to carry people, we'd give them anything they wanted for free. We also used to stop at the weapon quests in BC and Northrend to see if anyone needed help (both factions), it's sad how many new players would be dying over and over at them.
This video taught me what GDKP is and I been playing this shit since 2004 off and on after wrath. LOL I actually needed this thank you for the content and information.

scarlet monastery was the dungeon to get killed in when the tank rounded them all up and a couple killed you because you got too close and you was just tagging along for a boost

True story (today 26.09.22). I just finished an SM run with my alt. We had a belfadin in the group.
He had no talents and he was wearing a level 21 white sword "Dacian Something". The 2h axe drops, he greeds. Then the 2h mace drops, he greeds again.
- "you sure you don't need this/that? it's much better than your sword." - "i don't need. thanks".
All i want is to know is what was going on in his head.
I know there are challenges where you can’t wear anything other than white gear

I paid a guild to help me finish Frostmourne back in WoTLK. Just to get the sindragosa quest done... My guild at the time never got past her. My guild soon disbanded and never did IC25. So I collected the shards doing public ground.
in legion i boosted m+ and we actually got more people who just wanted smooth runs more then being carried. happened in a few nighthold carries awswell

god this brings back memories of selling carries in eso, we always had people die on purpose at the start of fights tho cause a lot of trials they can fuck up
i used to run GDKPs in cataclysm, but for pvp. and i never scammed people for gold or brought fake people to bid them. it was just a high price in gold that we all agreed on before creating the arena team, and then i carried them for 3v3 arena until they could buy their 410 pvp weapons. i made somewhere around 2G selling GDKPs for 3v3 in cataclysm and all of it was honest money (that i sold for a high price admittedly, but it was still mutual). good ol'days !

@@cenciqt6045 thats why i said "GDKP, but for pvp". almost everybody who watches these videos on youtube doesn't know the terms we use in wow or any mmo. thats why i explained how it works after. i wouldn't explain this to sb who wanted to join my group back then because they already know what they're signing up for.

GDKP is only a term used in classic wow and is a far more niche term you are so off base

There is a legendary Rogue on earthshaker called Ingenheder who is this guy for real… if you find yourself in party with him…just run no amount of gold in the world can pay for the years of therapy needed after a dungeon with this true living legend

I use to stock tf up on noggenfoggers not make my inventory full type but at least always had about 100 on me. After I discovered them and for the first like half of my time collective time playing wow.

So fucking accurate - I used to PL SM runs with my enh shaman it was like they would all find the dumbest ways to die. Stand in whirlwinds, jump in, shoot stuff we were not fighting etc.

in mop id sell 2s wins but have them drop my rating by joining arena then leave arena over and over so capping there week conquest was super fast and easy

used to sell the warlock quest in dm for 500g each. i would get 4 of them in there for 2000 and just bug the quest for the win. worked over and over. and in classic thinking it would be fixed and nope. 2000x 5-10 runs a day

when i first start playing WOW , in BFA , there is a shield called OBLIVION , at that time as holy pal i buy it for 900k gold it was 475 lvl if i remeber well, and it was a good lesson for me , i learned that items can get old and loose its level and power.
When it gets to the point where they haggle down the price, just increase it by the same amount, theyll buy it for base price then eventually

We used to do Kara and Gruls runs for people, typically 5 people bidding aginst each other on gear and we would legit make 100k on a kara run and have people buy items they could not equip all the time.. just so ridiculous

Funny thing is thats all WoW is now to the point where you can get to 70 solo questing without raiding or pvp farming gear and people assume your boosted just because of how much hp you have, while you got freshly boosted chars who cant even do heroics but have lightbringers set pieces because they go straight into a gdkp, its like its expected now to be playable, gotta have gear to get into kara, its the starting point for runs farm a few badges maybe get some decent gear from pvp or heroics and on average you should be good soon as you finish your attunement
Once upon a time I was doing carry +15's in BFA. A DH bought 5 UR runs from us trying to get the weapon. On the fourth run he made the mistake of telling us that if he didn't get the weapon, he would buy 5 MORE runs. That weapon dropped for me. I didn't loot it. I did get 5 more runs worth of gold though. I didn't even need that weapon, but you can't just tell the people carrying you "If you screw me over, I'll pay you double"

don’t you always get the same amount of loot in the m+ chest at the end of the run if it was timed, meaning that he should have realized the group only got 2 loot instead of the guaranteed 3?

@@stu.chainz Lol, boosting gave people who grinded out great gear something to do if they didn't want to push top 1%er content, and gave the other 99% something to aspire to do that was both profitable and within their reach. Bought my yak mount, bought several subs, bought expensive toys, and never needed to spend a dime of real money. Imo, boosting was the REASON TO PLAY the game if you knew you were never going for CE, glad, or pushing the highest end M+ (Which at the time didn't even have any rewards distinct to it, and even now doesn't provide anything past extremely doable 20's)
@@codysewell4775 also I agree u live in a bubble. Your experience is something only the top 10 maybe 20% do. Meaning what your Anecdote says isn’t valid for a majority of the player base and I do think boosting should be banned including the paid one
