Thank you sir; today’s I tried your jump to the low pressure switch and it worked, soon I will get and replace the switch, you saved me a lot of money-thank-you again.
Hey, thanks for video!!! I first recharged the freon and a/c still not working. I replaced the A/C switch in my 2002 PT Cruiser and the air is now working! That probably saved me a bunch of money! :)
About to try this myself. Started working on my ac a week ago. So far I've put on a new high side fitting, a new low side fitting (hissing leak), checked all hoses, replaced two bad gaskets, filled refrigerant and still don't have cold air. Also found a gas leak, a vacuum line burn through and the charcoal container line burned through. Death by a thousand repairs.
You can easily By-Pass this Switch either High or Low Pressure Switch with a " Paper Clip ". Within LESS than 2 Minutes... You will know if the Switch is Bad or Good and you can also know if it's the Compressor or not! Here is the Video in case someone need to make the " Diagnostic ": ruclips.net/video/9nKHQLDc8No/видео.html
The pressure should be in the green on the gauge when the engine is on and the compressor on, when the compressor is off it should read way too high. The problem wasn't the switch, it was that it didn't have enough freon so the switch couldn't kick on and by bypassing it with a paper clip you're making it think it has enough pressure so it's kicking on. If it's reading in the green when the engine is off then it's way too low. You should always read the pressure with the engine running and compressor on to get an accurate reading.
Think the mechanic was showing me this as they told me they can fix it for $200 bucks I said now then he told me it's my wireing let's hope it's just the switch thanks will try this soon
I have a 1989 Lincoln Town Car that has been a nightmare on A/C issues. My A/C shuts off on the highway, my fan shuts off when I select floor, & nothing comes out my defrost vent when I select defrost. Could my low pressure switch be failing? I just changed my check valve & Automatic Temperature Control Switch Servo. There was no change. Changed my blower motor resistor a couple years ago, so it's not that. I'm out of options. Do u have any idea what the problem may be? Thanks in advance.
Filled my BMW with gas when temperatures were not too hot. Ac ran fine. As soon as temperatures started to soar high and im driving on high rpms the compressor would cut off. Splashed some water on the front ac radiator and compressor kicked in. Got some metal nail with flat head and BLED some gas from the low pressure side while the ac was on and the problem went away. But again after 2 months the issue is hitting me back. What shud i do. I believe it has to do with the hi pressure cutoff. Plz advise
My PT Cruiser 2005 turbo convertible is blowing warm air when I'm idle or at a stop light but it blows cooler (not cold) when I accelerate. Would this be a compressor problem or a fan problem? I have plenty of Freon in there. I really don't want to spend more money taking this to a mechanic. Someone told me they thought it was an expansion valve but I don't think pt cruisers have one. Any suggestions????
The problem is most likely the fan. Had the exact same problem on my 2004 non turbo. These cars only have one fan with two speeds and the low speed motor was the issue. Replaced that and its been fine since.
Andrea and Mike Kendrick (also how you know you are talking with a tech, and not someone who's trying to be one) It's almost a pet peeve with me....lol
yeah and vise grips aren't vise grips, they are "adjustable locking pliers" and Band-Aids aren't Band-Aids, they are "adhesive bandages"... don't be a fucking douche. Just like a Xerox is now generic for a copy and Kool-Aid is generic for powdered soft-drink, Freon is generic for refrigerant. It's the way the English language works. Deal with it. anyone that's not a full-blown retard knows what somebody's talking about when they say freon.

Bruh...thanks! I’m now PT CRUISER HVAC CERTIFIED thanks for the diag tip 😎😆 Daughter’s car has AC again!

Thanks, I had this problem with my 04 cruiser, watched this video, problem fixed. Thanks again

Saved you money and grieve. Good job.

Was it the new piece that made noise or the broken one? Having the same issue and hoping the fix is as simple as this.
Thanks for sharing valuable information
Thanks for the Video man i had that problem and change that sensor and my problem got fix thanks alot
Great video! Found the same thing out myself
You're smart. PCM has about 200 pins
thanks. fixed my problem.
Thank you for the video. Is the low pressure switch on the thin hose or the thick one?
Thank you. That is helpful and solved my problem.
Your a great guy that’s what
Hey made my day thank you i fixed the proplem

When you pull the pressur switch off did thr gas run crazy
I got a old 1999 Toyota solara with the same issue but I'm not sure if it has that switch tho..
what was the nut size again did you say 5/8 ? its a tight area on my ford focus I may need to use a crow foot wrench with a extension bar

Looks to me you are a car guy, finding that needle in the haystack says so.
GREAT!!!
Thank you.
that's a pressure transducer... the pressure in the line creates a voltage that the pcm can read and interpret
I changed that switch but still only get hot air
thanks
Thanks sir
Does anyone know where this switch is on a 2003 jeep grand Cherokee please help
My AC compressor is always getting voltage (clutch engaged), regardless of if I have the gauges ON or OFF inside the car. HELP!
Check the AC relay first

Sounds like the condensor and or electric fan has an issue
Ummm I have no power to my plug to the switch... Now what
It is not Freon. It is refrigerant. Freon is a brand name that was discontinued years ago. It is simply refrigerant.

How did you check the freon pressures if the compressor isn't engaging to cycle the refrigerant? It would max the gauge out
