I was overweight as a child I turned to food to cope with the trauma of being sexually abused but when I was 14 years old I decided to face what happened to me and make a change I don't remember how much I weight at the time but I do remember I was a size 20 I have managed to stay skinny after all these years I'm now a size 7 and 32 years old

I love that you said to start with shorter workouts for sustainability because that is what you gave to me at the beginning of my journey (4 years ago now woah). Sleep was so important to me I only felt I could sacrifice 5 min a morning to get up earlier. So I did all your 5 min workouts over and over until I felt I could do 10 min. The slow progression and taking the pressure off to do so much before I was ready, made it easier to make this a lifestyle and not a yo yo diet workout. Thank you for you 5 min videos! They are exactly what a beginner needs. Your 5 min workouts changed my life!

Hello Katie, wow are our stories very similar! I'm currently at 190Ibs and working to lose 45Ibs. I also had a lot of trouble maintaining long workouts, my biggest problem being I never worked out, lifted or exercised much as a kid. I had to research so much just to figure out what types of lifting and exercise to begin with! Starting, I began with 15 mins a day, and slowly I've been working up to longer sessions; currently I do a 25 minute work out 5 days a week. I began in December at 217Ibs I'm very happy to see the progress i've made! A big motivator for me is watching others weight loss journeys, the before and after pictures give me so much hope and confidence! I remind myself everyday its all about my health, and its helped me love and respect my body so much more! Thank you for this great video

Studies also reveal too much sleep is detrimental to your health too and can shorten your lifespan. i usually get 10 hours of sleep and still wake up feeling tired. 😮‍💨 My vitamin D3 levels have been low a few times before.
Im due to do a grocery shop tomorrow and will start to make some changes to my diet, if for no other reason than to feel better and take some stress off my body. But im totally with you on not knowing where to start or knowing whats truly healthy and what is deceptively healthy.

when I was at my worst (extremely problematic drinking/ED/overweight/self hating/total mess) me and some of my real close friends drifted apart, we never stopped having love for each other though, but they couldn’t be around me at that time and I retraced from them because I agreed! I was a mess! , where as the friends that stayed I eventually had to phase out once I started taking control of my life, I just couldn’t do it anymore, I wish the best for them but it just wasn’t working out. the thing is if 10 years ago you told me I cut those people off I would have been devastated, but in reality leaving those friendships in the past- it’s freedom , freedom to grow without explanation

Of course I have a major lack of sleep right now, so those hunger hormones are attacking me and I am having a hard time curbing my sweet cravings right now! I started my journey in November and took a pause from March-June (recovering from burnout), I’m down from 210 to 185. My goal is 145-155. I’ve dealt with atypical anorexia since I was 12, and my weight has been flying up and down since I first got tossed into treatment at 16. My last time in treatment I was improperly refed (ironically not fed enough to recover from the severity of restriction, due to medical fatphobia and I was a size 4) and gained 60 pounds. I left treatment unhappy and just as disordered. I was starving during the day and eating a days worth of food at night. I felt like shit all the time. Then one day something clicked and I started tracking macros with the intention of nourishment, not losing weight as fast as possible. I discovered cut cycling (3 weeks in a cut 1 week at maintenance), eating consistently through the day, and eating 90-100g of protein a day. My life changed. Apart from the weight loss (which I’m still working on) I’ve never felt so sane in my life. Now I’m trying to incorporate working out again (I used to have a really bad relationship with working out too. I’m on my feet for my job and I walk my dog as well) with Buti Yoga (think like a yoga/primal movement hybrid) for half an hour 3x a week to start.

Good morning Katie! I often find myself wishing I could lose weight (I’m 5’ 9” and I used to weight roughly 145 pounds, I currently weigh 183 pounds) I look at myself in the mirror and I’m not happy with what I see and the way it makes me feel. I have never been able to keep to a diet or consistently work out. I feel like I need a person to help motivate me to stay consistent and help me to achieve my fitness goal! I also have a thyroid condition ( I was diagnosed with Hashimoto Disease) and although I take my thyroid medication every day I often feel tired and burnt out. I downloaded your move app and wanted to join using the promotion you had going that gives you the first three months free that started on the 20th of this month but I was having trouble getting that promotion to work for me. I also would love to try all of your protein powders but unfortunately I’m on a tight budget and am unable to afford them. Everything you do truly inspires me to be better and I am so thankful that you’ve put so much time and effort into researching formulas and ingredients to put into your protein powders as well as your workouts to help so many women across the world achieve their fitness goals!

I feel so discouraged and i feel like I’m doing something wrong. I’m going to keep sticking to it because I desperately want to see those results but it’s so damn hard. 😭

Hey there fellow viewers! I just finished watching this amazing video, and I have to say, Jonathan has an incredible ability to summarize complex topics. Not only that, but he gives great advice on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Speaking of which, I myself have struggled with weight loss in the past, but after changing to a plant-based diet, I lost Two Stone three years ago and have not gained it back since. I have also gained some helpful knowledge on how to fight overweight, and I would love to share it with you all. You can find the information in my bio.
On another note, I was touched by the comments expressing sympathy for the loss of Diesel. Losing a furry companion can be heartbreaking, and I send my condolences to those who have gone through it.
Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to the LSF community for helping people embrace and care for their bodies, no matter their size. And to the RUclipsr that I’ve been following for a year now, I want to express my gratitude for all the informative and super helpful videos that have helped me lose 50lbs despite my struggles with PCOS and hypothyroidism. Keep up the amazing work!
