I started trucking because i was homeless living and staying with friends and family !!! I was about ready to hold a sign on the corner ill work for food !!! Now im working a bout 70 to 80 hours a week sometime a 100 hours a week i figured the pay out its around minimum wage !!! But im not holding a ill work for food sign and staying in my friends basement with his dog !!!! Being a trucker can definitely get you off the street !!!!

I've been in trucking for a little over a year and I'm constantly being asked if I'm sure that I'm a trucker after people hear me talk, and seeing that I am clean cut🙄 I also do real estate investing here in Dallas and have flipped four houses and have a few rentals. I got into real estate investing after being laid off from a corporate job after sixteen and a half years. I took some of my severance pay and bought a property and flipped it within two months. Been hooked since. I try to flip three and buy and hold the fourth, then repeat the process. I never use my own money though to purchase a property, I have a network of private lenders with rates better than hard money lenders. Got into trucking as a back up incase the market bottoms out again and I am now looking into buying my own Daycab to run local. Good video man, and may God continue to Bless you brotha!

I been a trucker all my life. I’ve never done anything else. I got my license when I was 18 and I’m 50 now. I’m disabled and can’t drive now and I miss it. I tried having people working for me but It wasn’t the same and I couldn’t sleep at night always worrying wondering if everything was going ok. I even had charter buses on the road and that was worse than having a truck on the road because I had more people to worry about. I guess I just can’t do it if I’m not the one behind the wheel. Been disabled since June 2017 and I really miss it. Never thought I would say that but I do.

Did you looking into getting a lawyer? To help fight Progressive over not accepting your insurance claim. You mite have had a case and got that taken care of still.
@@NotYourAverageTrucker That is a big loss I would have tried to fight it. You pay for insurance for the exact reason if something like that happens their there to help you out. I look at as not getting what you paying for.
@@NotYourAverageTrucker Yeah but some good layers find ways around that stuff. An sometimes the insurance company finds its better to just settle then have to pay more with legal fees also. An most layers will not even ask you for money up front because they get paid after the lawsuit.

I dont mean to overwhelm you with questions man but m excited to here this from someone who has done it n still in d game. I've been thinking about doing it for d past year but got discouraged a few times.

Damn I really did I live in Syracuse, ny we only have one school and the training was terrible I basically learned how to do everything on my own from watching different RUclips videos Then two weeks ago I went to take the dmv I passed the pre-trip and backing maneuvers but failed the roadtest. even though the examiner that I had made the parallel box 7 feet short I still made it in. I had to pay $40 to schedule another test if I don’t pass the second time then it’s damn near $200 each time they definitely be scamming people for there money smh

I’m glad I didn’t have to go to truck driving school. I was grandfathered in when they changed from chauffeurs license to CDL. I just had to take the general knowledge, air brakes and combination vehicle test. I didn’t even have to drive.

I stacked 10 Grand making .40 a mile. I'm Going through my bank to buy my truck at the moment. $800.00 a month, No money down. I got to scratch and claw bruh. NOW THE BIGGEST QUESTION IS ! how do lil fellas like me with regular savings go from company driver to owner operator with Own authority... Basically what I'm asking is, can 10 Grand or less put me in a position to bypass alot of the BS. Or is it not enough bc insurance and authority ain't cheap. . . Do you have any pointers for regular drivers with regular bank trying to reach the top

I never went to school anyway my dad taught me when I was 11 years old and I learned how to back up before he allowed me to go forward 😀
