    Rhassoul clay is the moisturizer and softener. It reduces dryness in the hair while also removing toxins and product buildup. It improve hair’s elasticity and unblocks your scalp’s pores. It reduces flakiness and aids in detangling and although it cleans like bentonite clay but unlike the detoxifying clay, it leaves your hair soft and moisturized.

    Actually i think the bentonite part has more volume. Look at the video. The bentonite make your root more poofy, which in return give more volume. Also your curls are more defined with the rhassoul and has a bit more sheen.

    bentonite can be very drying. It has a larger surface when wet so it can pull out much more than other clays. Rhassoul and kaolin clays are gentler. The best way is to mix some of all three in proportions depending on how clean you want you hair or how soft :-)

  • @saroyafanniel8932

    I use both clays. As you said, the Bentonite is great for cleansing and clarifying; the Rhassoul for conditioning, sheen and definition. I also add oil essences to my clay treatments to enhance the results. A Henna, Neroli Oil and Rhassoul mixture is great for hair with Brown or Red tones. Bentonite, Apple Cider Vinegar and Tea Trea for cleanse/clarify/detox/repair. Aloe Gel/Juice with either clay will boost their individual properties, making Rhassoul even more softening and shine producing and the Bentonite more cleansing and repairing.

    I immediately thought that the Rhassoul clay side looked softer, smoother and more defined. The Bentonite clay side looked more bushy and perhaps not as soft. A very helpful comparison, since I've only used Bentonite clay on my hair!

    Rhassoul is used to make natural conditioner so that's why your hair is softer on that side. Also, you should never add oils to cleansing clay unless its essential oils. The oils are to heavy and don't allow the clay to work properly. love the video!!!!!

    • @cherylkirksey

      DeepThink....... different clays do different things.
      Bentonite is a cleansing clay. It sucks all toxins, dirt and impurities from anything it touches. It's super for facials because of this. Oils like Olive, Coconut and Castor are too heavy, the clay will not completely work when you mix those in. It defeats the purpose of detoxification if you aren't going to fully detox. Just make sure to deep condition after this treatment. I use aloe Vera juice rinse as well as to regulate my hair and scalp PH Balance back to normal.

      At least in the U.S., I find that it's easier to find Bentonite Clay in stores rather than Rhassoul. It's tricky though because some stores will discontinue the most popular one -the Aztec Bentonite clay. I found that the Rhassoul clay was really great for my more tough/tangled sections of my hair which were typically the sections that got dryer faster and overall tend to break very easily. However, the rhassoul clay didn't really define the other more manageable parts of my hair as best as the sodium. It's kind of a toss up. But I'm considering perhaps mixing them.

  • @FemiSHair
    @FemiSHair 4 года назад +3

    Thank you for the comparison. I'll start incorporating the bentonite clay wash in my hair regimen. I'm thinking of doing an off and on..so 1 week shampoo, next with clay. I do believe in using shampoo to get a good cleanse of the scalp, but I think the clay is a great alternative between washes since the sebum in the scalp will still be intact in order to boost the moisture in my hair.

  • @lexilomax4986
    @lexilomax4986 7 лет назад +8

    nice video! I use both and i find that the rhassoul clay is more of a gentle cleanser and leaves my hair more moisturized so i use it during the winter and i stick with the bentonite during other times of the year esp. summer when my hair needs a good clarifier since im more active and my hair is out more.

I think I will do a half and half of both clays today to see how it works with my hair. Next time you or your husband uses the clays you should not be wearing/using any type of metal including metal bowls, spoons, mixing cups, measuring utencils, earrings, necklaces's and wedding rings. I saw that your husband was wearing his wedding ring when he was helping you apply the clays. The clays will tarnish metal if it gets on it. You can use gloves or an aplicator bottle to apply it. You can also cover your sink or faucet with plastic wrap to avoid a mess.

      Brittany Ivy so glad you said something also not supposed to mix with water at least with Bentonite, ACV

    • @cmirandaphoto
      @cmirandaphoto 6 лет назад +7

      Paris Morgan Not true, you can mix your bentonite clay with water just fine. It does not HAVE to be mixed with ACV, though many do which is just as ok. ACV can be harsh on sensitive skin especially with frequent use, some may have reactions. If you’re going to mix your bentonite with water, it is best to use spring or distilled water rather than faucet water.

    I just mix both of them, along with Kaolin clay, diluted apple cider vinegar and honey to stop it from drying out because I like to leave it in for a longer time but I don't like it drying onto my head.
    Edit: also add palm kernel oil or coconut oil which is moisturising.

    Bentonite clay is the detoxifier, the cleanser or the restorer of your hair’s balance. It draws out the impurities and restores your hair’s pH balance and believe it or not it can be used externally or internally according to some. It’s used in many detox and cleansing products and it makes sense that it’s used as a cleansing mask for the hair. It draws out the dirt, impurities, and product buildup on the hair and scalp.

    When I was a little girl growing up in the Middle East my mom used to wash my hair with olive oil soap and condition it with clay, a white powder called kil, (probably a Turkish name for clay). She dissolved it in water and applied it to my hair. It made my hair so soft and so shiny that it was hard for me to manage my hair.
    Now I’m trying to find that same kind of clay and am not sure if the ones listed here online are the same ones in different brands. I’m confused…

    If you don't know which clay to choose and keep bouncing back and forth in your mind between the two, I read somewhere online that if you have low porosity hair choose Rhoussal. I order Rhoussal before finding this out. Luckily I have LPO hair. I'm sure Bentonite clay works just as fine on LPO hair as well. I have never tried Bentonite clay but my hair was more defined with Rhoussal Clay, comparing this to videos of hair applying Bentonite Clay.

  • @sassyrarebreed9914

    Bentonite clay is more of a clarifying clay(suggested to use ACV with it) it's not 1 that I'd use regularly as a cleanser for my hair. Bentonite is clarifying it is not in the same category as Shakaki,Aritha or Rhoussal clays. Sorry if anything is misspelled but I am using voice to text and we know it is not perfect.😂😂😂

      You can also go haf and half as apple cider vinegar can be a bit burning to the scalp for some people. I put two table spoons of it in my recipe and the rest water. Sometimes I just to do all water. Depends on what I need at the moment.

      I think so, the clay does not sting when it gets in your eyes. However, be careful about the apple cider vinegar rinse part. That part can sting your eyes if it drips down. Just be extra careful! My mom used clay in my hair all the time when I was a little girl, but because we lived out in the middle of nowhere, it was hard to find. It worked wonders on my hair! It was the only thing that worked and made my hair so much more easier to detangle. Highly recommend!

      DeepThink I started out once a fortnight but depending now on hiw I feel..if its longer I make.more of a thick goop but if its like a week inbetween I make a more watery mixture...I just discovered that 1/2 acv and water ph balances my hair and makes it smooth but the water is horrid in my area XD so its makes my hair dry again XD...
