If i put say a RME converter on the ADAT, will the Autogain/Smartgain also affect the ADAT, or just the analog IO on the device?

just the IO of the Audient EVO 16, if u have a third party Mic Preamps like the RME or a Scarlett octopre for example , it wont change the input, that feature its a close system feature, you would need the SP8 to control all 16 channels or 2 SP8 to do 24 autogain channels
