Hello Will. Im not a person who is into fishing. The closest i have come is running around on the beach while my dad caught them and I would cook them up. I'm glad the algorithm brought me here! I enjoy your calm voice and watching you fish. I see you are in Texas. If you have too many fish in your freezer, i dont mind buying some from you. Keep doing your thing!
I know nothing about fishing and have no idea how i came upon your channel but i absolutely love it! The only one time ive been fishing in my life was outside of Cinci with my ex and his dad. We went crappie fishing and they were SO good omce we got them fried up at home! All i know is i want to come to dinner at your house!!!
Love your content, really makes me want to get back out there and fish again, it's been several years! You should come up to the PNW some August, spend some time on the Columbia between Warrenton and Buoy 10 trying for Coho and 'Nookies. Last one I caught was a 22 pound hog, fought him all the way to the boat, took me almost 15 minutes! So much fun!!
@@fishingbythenumbers Coho and Chinook ('Nookies) are ocean running Salmon. After spending several years brining in the Pacific, they're returning up river to spawn. They're huge, hungry, angry, feisty, and super tasty!!
I got you! Will have a CCC coming soon, but check out my Catch Clean and Cook playlist in the meantime: ruclips.net/p/PLe4p0KBlKApl0rdoI4fMoGRO9BD-DkAjM&si=BOp1MVYOkjHNU0V2
What type of brand Kayak do you have. I’ve been looking at various kayak setups. Most people have their kayak rigged up which cost about 4 grand. Would your kayak be a beginner or intermediate setup? Do you do one on one fishing demos as a guidance?
I have an Old Town Auto Pilot, and I would not consider it a beginner kayak, definitely more intermediate/advanced. Fully rigged, it is a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. I don’t do one on ones, but if you see me on the water, just holler and I’ll be happy to share info or help with questions if I can.
I looked the rod up on ACC and it showed it as a spinning rod. Are you running a bait caster on a spinning rod or am I missing something? I’ve been looking for a crappie rod I can put a bait casting reel on. Thanks. Great content!
Yeah, I made some modifications to make it more compatible with the bait caster. Just change out the lower two guides. Going to see if they will start producing some for bait casters too. Hit me on Instagram or FB so I can keep you posted
It takes quite a while to understand how to operate it and get it dialed in, but once you do it can be extremely helpful in gathering information on their behavior and figuring out what they want. The time investment and cost are not low though!
Mine is mounted on a pole, but it can be mounted on the motor just not mine. But yes, I do have to move it around quite a bit and it takes some coordination. Much harder than it looks

I have an old town auto pilot, and would say it’s definitely not a beginner kayak, but it is a great kayak. My set up is probably on the intermediate to advanced side, but not as extreme as some high tech anglers. And unfortunately, I do not do on the water demos or one on ones at the moment but working on getting the guide license soon!
You don’t have to spend $4,000, but buy a decent one. I bought a cheap one, and it’s served me well, I’ve caught a lot of fish in it, but I definitely need to upgrade. I can’t fish all day, because it doesn’t have a real seat, and it also gets pretty unstable anywhere with a serious current. Buy something wide, like at least 30+ inches wide. Preferably something you can stand up on and stretch your legs if you’re fishing all day. If you don’t want to spend thousands of dollars, the Pelican Catch series kayaks are pretty good from what I hear, and depending which one you get they’re around $700-1200. That’s a good start. Put a milk crate in it, and go fishing. When you have more money, buy a fishfinder, and whatever else you want. Make yourself up a little anchor too, for when it’s windy, so you can stay on your spot. I just use a steel weight, on 40 feet of rope, but you can buy little anchors too. Good luck brother. Go catch some fish.

Hello Will so nice to see you and you still out there slabbing and it’s nice you showing the young how to fish.
A good beginner tip is have to have a finger resting on the line and you will notice any small fish nibbling worse case scenario

new sub good stuff
Thanks for the sub and welcome!! 🙏🏾
Can you fish lake houston at night on a dock or bulkhead somewhere?
Yes, Lake Houston Marina off 1960 would be your best bet
Does the livescope help a lot?

Nice slabs. You finding groups of fish in lake Houston is not possible coming from a RUclipsr who guides on lake Houston
Thanks! There’s times where you’ll see nice schools of good fish on the rivers and bayous that feed lake Houston but you don’t see them often.
