@@scottklandl488aerialists train for years with out poles. That’s the only reason they make it look somewhat alright without them. Also they are doing doubles and triples and larger spins consistently, using their arms much more than freestyle/freeride skiers to control axes and rotations. Not having the poles actually benefits them in their specific discipline. Not having poles dropping into a jump like this doesn’t really benefit any of these athletes, unless they simply feel more comfortable without the poles. Also, you clearly don’t understand the power of a proper 4 point landing
@@801actioncam Five point landing! You forgot his face!! I just get stylistically annoyed at grabs when the hands already full. That and most recreational skiers only successfully use them to propel themselves forward in the lift line
For our US viewers: we don’t have that powder snow like you here in Europe. This wasn’t a cosy, soft landing where the rider sinks in a lot to lessen the impact.
I honestly think the ramp brought them to near-max velocity, any higher up and they risk losing speed. If the height of the ramp bothers you, just imagine the hill was 12 ft shorter, cause these boys used all the ramp they needed for that send
Also, I think their intent was to give it enough space so they had a spot to land, if they brought the ramp all the way up the rider would go too far 😂

This is more like a ski-jump the one you see on tv. Also the way he spread his legs at the end kind of reveals it. The landing needs more work though.
