I was needle poked doing Security at a hospital. The amount of composure it takes not to lash out surprised even me. You learn a lot about patience dealing with people like this.
I believe it, I'd be beyond furious.
It's why I know I could never be a cop. I try and treat everyone the way I expect to be treated myself but cops and medical personnel have to deal with the utter dregs of society. The fact that people can do these jobs and not snap is amazing to me. It's why medics and police should be earning way more than they do because the amount of garbage they deal with is astronomical.

Obviously psych/substance abuse cases are an exception, but we have procedures for those.
@@Thwack992 I don't doubt it for a second mate. I am in hospitals a lot (chronically ill family member) and some of the things I've saw personally are absolutely atrocious. There is no excuse for a person who is in their right mind to act the way they do, with the police or hospital staff. Way too many people are so used to throwing a temper tantrum and getting what they want that they think they can do it with impunity no matter the circumstances. I'm sure you see it at your work all the time. It's why you see all these spoiled brat adults who get arrested screaming "I can't breathe" at the top of their lungs because they think it's a get out of jail free card. Before that it used to be asking to go to hospital after they get 'cuffed because they think that means they won't go to jail after.
Not everyone who goes to jail needs to be treated like a feral animal. But with some people. It's a safety requirement.
I mean I've caught a bobcat in a trap that was better behaved than this chick. Hissed a little but never even snapped at me let that cat go and seen it on the trail cams still was trying for coyotes.

6 months and a ton of testing.... Can confirm. I work security in Los Angeles and was both bitten and scratched by a transient while removing them from the property. Thankfully, LAPD was able to interject and assist quickly. This was years ago and, thankfully, everything turned out fine. It was a battery of testing and shots that had be endured though before I was able to go back to work or even to be able to do anything with my lady other than a kiss.

When they talk about and pass laws regarding "no bail for non-violent offenders", people like her is who they let out of jail.
It'd not be the most terrible policy in the world, except for the fact that they don't use it on first time offenders doing shoplifting or whatever.
They use it on lifelong offenders - and they don't care if it was violent or not unless it was murder or extremely close to murder.
Plenty of times they'll even release people who shot at the police on recognizance, as long as no officer was actually hit.
It's insanity how far they're willing to go to get votes for local elected officials like DAs and Mayors in the most crime-ridden cities in America.

The time it takes for STIs to be detectable varies depending on the specific infection. Some STIs, like HIV, may take several weeks to months to show up on tests, while others, like chlamydia or gonorrhea, can be detectable within days to a couple of weeks.

The court should order a panel of test on her so at least the officer would have some idea. If she is positive for something like HIV, she should be charged with attempted murder.

There's definitely a charge for intentional spread. Most states don't have a specific statutes so battery, assault and the like are usually used. But outside of obvious cases; to prove someone tried to spread something intentionally in court is a near vertical climb.
Regardless if it's intentional or not doesn't solve the shear ick factor that Donut was feeling.

I used to work in corrections here in Australia. That 6mths of testing after exposure is hell, especially when you've got young kids. Can't change a nappy, bath them, etc, if you've got an open cut on your finger or hand.
My daughter was bitten during a stop during her loss prevention agent days. Since the skin was broken there were vaccines, blood tests for months, and scabies treatments since she was bitten by a meth addict who screamed “ha ha I just gave you scabies”. The doctor told her he would much rather be bitten by a dog. People are disgusting.

I’m a RN. I’ve been slapped, kicked, scratched, peed on, had many inappropriate sexual advances, hair pulled, spit on and bitten. Being spit on and/or bitten is the WORST luckily in 18 years I’ve only been bitten one time but the tests and prevention meds they make you go through suck so, so bad.
It’s ridiculous what 1st responders have to deal with. I had a nurse manager one time lose his job and almost his license after he had a known HIV patient, who’d been in a fight and was bleeding from the mouth spit in his face and my manager reacted and shoved the man. The patient was later charged with assault with a deadly weapon bc that’s exactly what that is…but my poor manager had to go through so much hell and almost lost his career when he was a victim! It’s like they just expect us to sit back and get repeatedly assaulted. Absolutely crazy. People can attack us any which way but lord don’t you react like a human…that’s a no-no…😡🙄

That's actually a MUCH rarer creature than a human meth deposit! I'm a nurse at a hospital and had a patient bite me. He attacked the charge nurse, started swinging punches. I grabbed a body lock and took him down onto the bed. Belly down back control holding his wrists; then he chomped my right forearm. I had to go get bloodwork done with employee health and they drew blood on patient too. Thankfully no weird diseases.

My brother is a retired California Highway Patrol officer (27 years service). He had to get tested at least a dozen times and spend that six month "safety period" in case he contracted whatever it was the person who bit or had a needle stuck him with. One of the perps he arrested was HIV+ and used the needle as a weapon, not poking my brother, but scraping the end of it across the back of his hand... it drew blood. That was almost the most worried time of his career he had. This was also back in the 80s when catching the HIV was a death sentence.
Folks... that HIV+ perp was charged with attempted murder of a police officer because he knew it was his used needle and knew he was HIV positive when he tried to jab it into my brother.
California has gotten so soft on the charges they dish out these days, if that happened now, the DA would probably charge my brother with damaging private property as the needle was bent as it scraped across his skin.
Every test my brother had to take came back negative, but still, each time was at least six months of not knowing. Back in the 80s it was a year of waiting to know if you were free and clear of the HIV.
His wife was not pleased at all.

Myself, my partner and the K-9 officer we work with, we all had to go get tested for MRSA after I walked into a restroom and saw a guy naked doing some kind of drug ritual while soaking his T-shirt in the toilet and draining it onto his face and drinking the water. Homeboy had open sores all over. Yeah that was a fun arrest. Hey, we were all cleared though.

In my experience, keyboard method skips 5 seconds, double-tap method skips 10 seconds.

@@joshfriend1396 I was in the er with an inmate we shall call good inmate who was having a real medical emergency when my dear dumb shit friend decided to drop off this big ol sorta fat sorta not kinda guy built like a free flowing lava lamp we’ll call Bitey mcfucknut. Mr. Mcfucknut was in there for an “overdose” but really he was being an ass and wasting time. I went into his room to cuff him to the bed since I was the only CO there because why not but he got ahold of me somehow and hit me a few times. Felt like a toddler was hitting me with a pillow and when his little kitten punches didn’t work he resorted to teeth. my dumbass turned around to call for the city cops to come in and I turned around to see his teeth halfway in my arm and that’s when I felt my skin split and I got a weird cold pain like ice was pressing against my arm. I went to hit the fuck head but the little bitch boy city cop came in and pulled me out before I could sadly. When I got pulled out it tore and cut my arm where his teeth slid and I had to go back to good inmates room to calm down so I didn’t start losing it on both the city cop and mcfucknut. I had a scar there for a few years and then I got a really shitty sunburn that bubbled up and kinda tore off so it blended the teeth scar in. I can still find em if I pull my skin tight enough.

I commiserate with you on the changing clothes as soon as you got home. I did HVAC work for 37 years and some of the calls I ran were in the nastiest places. I was exposed to homes with roach and bedbug infestations and would find them in my work clothes after I had left the job. Then there were the calls with people who were hoarders that had garbage and filth around, and the crazy cat ladies who's homes reeked so bad of cat urine it made you vomit and the smell clung to you. When I got home I would literally strip down to my skivvies to avoid bringing that shit into my house.
Yeah, it's pretty gross how some some people live. I am but no means a neat freak , I am comfortable with some clutter and dust, I can live with the floor not getting mopped. But I can't live in disgusting filth. And I have enough self respect to clean up before anyone comes over to visit. It didn't occur to me that that's not what everyone does. But some people's houses ...

What do you think this is, a country where crime is held accountable? You can get into a high speed pursuit, assault on an Leo, felony possession, reckless endangerment, armed robbery, r still get probation. She's a female, she's a poor drug addict victim, and she was just acting out because her anxiety and fear. So the court will drop half the charges and give probation or a deferred sentence on the rest. You pretty much need to willfully go murder someone to get jail time in most of the US. Yet we somehow still have an enormous prison population. Which I guess says something about how much crime we have. They don't even prosecute car theft in some cities any more. Definitely won't pursue them.
