Love that Goodyear ad - the opening music reminds me of 'Panorama'.

Busby (the bird on the telephone ad) was so popular, he actually had his own merchandise. I can remember me and one of my younger siblings running around the estate wearing Busby T-shirts. I think it was about 1980 or 81?

Joanne Gray Think it was about 77. Seem to recall a lot of Busby ads from then.

@@purplehaze689 Indeed it was. I remember being about 7 in 1977 and me and my parents went down to Herts to see my brother. He made a joke that caused me to choke myself on the fizzy orange I was drinking - "Make someone happy - Ring Busby's neck"

That first advert for Dairy Milk with Cilla Black is a good indicator of the times. if you look at the backgrounds you can see how grey, dirty and run down it all was. Very typical of Britain's cities in the 70s and 80s.

The voice on the Fiat 131 advert was rampant in the seventies, I remember him most from, "The Kenwood Chef gives you more time". Anyone know his name? Thanks belfast jack.

The voice in the Fiat 131 ad is that of actor Michael Jayston.
      Hope this helps.

No worries. He's been in a lot of acting roles, including the film 'Nicholas and Alexandra' about Tsar Nicholas II. Like Robert Powell, his voice was used in many UK telly ads during the 1970s and 1980s.

Cheers SuperGingernutz, after looking on Wikipedia I recognise his voice from Brian Clemens' superb thriller series from 1973 to 76. Thanks again.

He actually sounds a little bit like Patrick “When you hear the air attack warning” Allen
