I've been on disability for 8 yrs, I just started a part-time job 3 days ago and already worked about 11 hours. I make $1543 a month on disability and obviously I don't want to loose that. I'm making $13 an hour at this new job...am I at risk of loosing my disability? I was told I could work 20 hours a week and would not interfere with my monthly disability..very confused.
The max you can gross is 1,350 a month. Do not go over this amount , if you do you can lose your social security . I repeat do not go over this amount.
@@moonwave8191 do you know if you have to contact ss if you’re looking to work pt and stay under the 1,350? I’m not interested in the “ ticket to work” program, just to make a few bucks, like 750 a month. Is it a red flag?

Thank you for this. I'm trying to move but most apartments want you to earn 3 times the rent amount. And the cheapest 1BD units are around $750 here in town. I make $1500 (minus the $170 medicare fee) and I keep getting turned down because I don't make the 3x rent amount. So I'm thinking I should file taxes and declare part time earnings of around $900/mo to be able to get a decent apartment. I would end up paying self-employment tax but at the mount it shouldn't be too bad. ----- Also, I was initially told that if you made a small amount you wouldn't need to file taxes at all. Is that true? Or should I file for 2020 as well? I only skipped one year.
I’m past my 9 month SSDI period of allowing to work over substantial income. Having said that, first time in years, as I just started a new PT job, my employer wants me for the 1st month only to work over the SSDI $1350 month threshold due to trashing. Will that jeopardize my SSDI? Again, only for 1 month I will be over substantial income. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ah okay. I was so Confused before. I'm on SSDI and I looked up what was allowed for income a month to keep benefits and I saw $1350. So now I understand the $1350 is if you're going for disability. So seeing your video and the amount can ONLY be $970 a month if you're ALREADY ON SSDI.
