    Gaborone is the largest and capital city of Botswana. The city is also refered to as the political capital of the Southern African countries because it's where the headquarters of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The city has a metropolitan population of 270,000 million people that live in it.
    The capital city was named after Kgosi Gaborone, leader of the Batlokwa people, who migrated from their ancestral homelands in the Magaliesberg Mountains and in 1881 settled in the Tlokweng area. Gaborone literally means ‘it does not fit badly’ or ‘it is not unbecoming.” The tolerant mind-set of Gaborone derives from the gathering of the many different cultures and the thousands-strong individual minds. The beautification of the edginess inspires, provokes opportunities and creates an intersection where two extremes meet each other and therefore become indefinable. Gaborone lies in a flat valley between Kgale and Oodi Hills, on the Notwane River in southeastern Botswana, about 9 miles (15 kilometers) from the South African border.
    Gaborone was founded in 1965, as the capital of Botswana. It is notable that the entire center of the city was constructed within three years. Formerly the British protectorate of Bechuanaland, on September 30, 1966, the country became independent within the Commonwealth of nations. Following its independence, Botswana has maintained one of the world's highest economic growth rates.
    Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic (CAR), Chad, Comoros, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leon, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Addis Ababa, Gambia, The Gambia, East African Federation, Addis Abeba, Addis Ababa city, Ethiopia Addis Ababa, South Sudan, African girl, Senegal, Gambia country, Uganda capital city, African language, Africa, Kampala, African Cup of Nations 2021, How to speak africa language, Kigali city, Seychelles.

    Botswana can be an incredibly affordable place to live, especially if expats manage their finances well. Gaborone ranks low on Mercer's Cost of Living Survey, and is more affordable than most of the 200 other listed cities. Its favourable exchange rate also attracts people from the US, the UK and Europe.

    • @dikamogapi7099
      @dikamogapi7099 Год назад +1

      @@FictionHubZA True. A lot of people underestimate this cultural factor. You get people who'll come to your country and demand that you as the host country must bend to their culture instead of them adopting the culture of their host country.
      And when you don't approve of this nonsense, they'll start calling you names. Yet when you go to their countries, they'll tell you straight to your face if you're stepping out of line in accordance to their country's culture/way of living.
      That's why I have so much respect for Arabic and Asian countries. You can call them whatever you want, they don't really care. If you come to live in their countries you are expected to adopt their way of living. You will be frowned upon if you don't because you found them doing their thing and you think your way is better than theirs.
      In conservative Arabic states you'll even end up in jail for breaking some cultural rules because they are tied to their religion.
