Damn, I'm not a Division fan, but I was looking forward to seeing Red Storm cook since Future Soldier is a banger game, and I feel like Division shoulda been more like that game in the first place

(unconfirmed but...) Heartland was done and ready for shipment...considering the game wouldn't have needed as much red tape to get through for it to drop on Ubisoft's own launcher, Ubisoft Connect, Heartland could have been released there at nearly any time in the very near future and it also only really needed to pass the certification of PS, XB and Steam to be able to be released on those platforms; which as long as the game was in a healthy, playable state (which recent Beta testers attest it was), the mentioned platforms surely would have given certification happily. Also, it was expected for a specific release date to be announced at Ubisoft Forward as well to finally be released late Summer/early Fall 2024. As for Rainbow 6...the Rainbow 6 mentioned in association with Red Storm's, Heartland's team, displacement is the upcoming Rainbow 6 *Mobile* game; not the established Rainbow 6 Siege. Ubi killed Heartland to transfer investments and Red Storm's highly creative talents to xDefiant and R6Mobile in an attempt to compete with CoD and other big name e-sport games. If you notice, Heartland was still on track for release...until xDefiant initially did very well on Steam & YT with it's mock tournament literally the day before the earnings report released (which could have been edited that very morning after the xDefiant tournament before releasing). As for The Division 3: Red Storm and other resources from other studios of Heartland are not (at least at this time) being diverted to TD3 - which probably isn't even actually in solid development (it maybe be in very early development like site scouting and/or whiteboard conceptualizing but not full studio development yet) until the release of Star Wars Outlaws because The Division 3's Executive Producer, Julian Gerighty, remains Outlaws' Creative Director until Outlaws releases later this year. As for Heartland... The community, as a whole, over multiple medias (Twitter/X, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit, ect) have been vocally expressing their heartbreak and frustration at the game's apparent demise to the point that, at least, 2 community members had (unbeknown to each other at first) began petitions on Change*org in an attempt to convince Ubisoft to reconsider it's choice. One petition is currently sitting at 201 signatures and the other at 261 signatures - for a current total of 462 autographs in support for Heartland. In the petitions' comments, many individuals even stating plainly that, should Ubisoft be so inclined, they would happily pay a respectable price for the game over it's previously announced "free-to-play" status if it would reignite investor interest and see the game's release come to fruition. If you and your community would willing to aid The Division community in this quest, I won't be brash and disrespectful by posting the links here without permission but I'll be very happy to provide links to each petition that you could then pass along to your YT community. i have zero doubts one of the main reasons HL got cancelled is because upper management wanted Red Storms talents on Xdefiant and they knew if they released HL that either couldn't happen or would make it much more difficult. It is very easy to see that Ubi sees Xdefiant as a huge money maker for them long term. that being said, it's a horrible excuse to cancel a game and still doesn't make any sense. i also think your correct that it was ready to release and probably somewhere buried at RS is a HL marketing release video that will never see the light of day.

The Devs have lied to us over and over again. Heartland was suppose to drop 2 years ago but it didn't. We were supposed to get a movie but it got scrapped. Resurgence is somewhere in limbo. I wouldn't be surprised if the DLC is scrapped right before release. To me it seems like the Devs plan was to get the Division player based up with Project Resolve then push us onto other Ubisoft titles.
agree with your rant 100%. I've never been more excited for a game to come out and then this... Got to play the beta last summer and loved it. I can only imagine how much better the game got for guys like you who got to play the closed tests over the past year. there are so many people out there who will never get to see this game and have no idea what they are missing. Also agree, put the game out there and charge for it, would have gladly paid to play it. Also, i see some people crapping on the graphics and map who obviously never played it. all i can say is the game map and layout was beautiful and so were the graphics.
As someone who also was in the tests and who talked to others about the game all I can say is that what they had for Hearthland was terrible and if they had continued development and released the game before 2030 they would have spend a ton of money on something doomed to fail because it did nothing right, the best it had I would say was the gunplay and that barely could be called mid. They had nothing unique as a selling point, were struggling to do anything right because they wanted to make it for everyone and really were just lacking a vision for what it was supposed to be. This was Ubi's attempt at an extraction shooter and they realized they are better off focusing on other things instead of releasing another quadruple A pile of turds.

I also enjoy other hobbies, like reading books and comics, building models, going to the gym. I spend more time watching other people play games on You Tube, when I have downtime at work. When I do get a chance to play, it's third person shooters. This is one of the few games I was looking forward to playing.
The more I see how crap modern shooters are the more I relise how awesome operation flashpoint was on a crappy old xbox.. I remeber being really excited at the time thinking if this is what they are making then how incredible games will be in the future. How wrong I was.

Wow, Ubi had an enjoyable game and abandoned it for a game that should have a sequel by now and a game that's a COD clone. At least, the alphabet soup propaganda they were pushing is gone. Yes, the game was good enough to be released. I didn't encounter many bugs. There was plenty that I wanted changed in the game, but I would have still played it without those changes, as long as it was free.
Yeah, it’s funny. The game still had a long way to go as far as really connecting the dots and solidifying it as a complete game but I thought they were far enough along to figure all of that out and at the very least going into the game world was still fun for me.
Yeah, but it’s hot right now and I enjoyed what the division was doing because the division main mechanic really is to extract your loot on the chopper in the dark zone and then this one you just extract out of it

Simply because DZ is ignored by the vast majority, and if it wasn't forced on players, it would have been played even less. Like take the world environments and certain mechanics and incorporate them into either the base story or as some sort of PVP/PVE mode. Shit I always wanted XDefiant to fail. NOBODY asked for that shit! It's just another battleroyale game, that is pay to win.

Yeah dude, the controls felt pretty good man. They had a shoulder swap a crouch. It didn’t have the division type mechanic where you hold the button and you run from cover to cover you had to do it yourself. The only thing It had was a weird slide like they were trying to re-create some type of fortnight slide and I wasn’t digging that too much but the game was ready to go man I wish they would’ve just released it.
