For me the ending of soul society was the biggest tell that ichigo and Rukia would not end up together. Because she tells him that she wants to stay in the soul society wich for me signaled that the two of them just belonged in different worlds. That is of course only my interpretation of that scene.

I heard Kubo once said that he didn't want Bleach to focus on romance because there's so much more cooler things it has to offer. And honestly I wholeheartedly agree: I have never felt so infuriated ever since dipping my toes into the Ichihime and Ichiruki argument. And things like Ichigo's Getsuga Jujisho from the latest episode were so awesome. At this point, I'm prefectly fine with both. I also decided a while back that I shouldn't judge those characters' decision and if they're happy I'm happy (despite being fictional people). I'd honestly be scared for them if they were real because there's just so much hate they have to deal with.

@bushamo I can tell many of the things you claim in the video are not true and I respectfully disagree. First of all orihime was not the one who motivated ichigo to go save rukia. Kisuke urahara already did that the previous day where he told ichigo there was a way to save him and he was motivated and snap out of his depression. In addition, during that grimmjaw fight even he said to ichigo him wanting to save her was bullshit and that he knew ichigo came to fight him because grimmjaw put a hole in rukia. In the fullbring arc orihime wasn't able to help ichigo at all because ichigo was depressed and kept thinking about rukia even having two poems about her stating those eyes I long for and and I wonder if I keep up with the speed of the world without you. Lastly, guess what are you forgetting when all of ichigo friends betrayed him he broke down and cry feeling hopeless with orihime doing nothing but watched. And guess what rukia was the one who save ichigo and snap him out of his depression. Rukia is the only one that stop his rain and is the ray of light that dries his black sun.
I found a video on tiktok of an IchiRuki shipper and their replies in the comments were so dumb. For example they said that marriage and having kids isnt always out of love replying to a comment saying that Ichigo and Orihime are married and that that is proof the ship is not canon. They also said that Renji did not care about Rukia at all showing that this person has no reading comprehension at all.
Reminds of that one time, literally 20 fucking years ago, when I was talking to a girl in DMs about FF7 and I told her that I liked the idea of Cloud and Tifa being together, only for her to have a meltdown and insist that it should be Cloud and Aerith, despite, ya know, the thing that famously happens to her in that game. Anime shipping is the most toxic infested well that's filled with sexually failed individuals. The whole point of the manga/anime is the action packed story, the lore along with the superhuman abilities and the clashes between the good and evil that wield them. Kissing and uwu romances are NEVER healthy debates or priorities in the fandom. I'd be more disappointed and broken if the One Piece treasure turned out to be something meaningless than if Nami didn't end with Sanji for example. Who cares about who gets to have sex with who compared to the entire essence of the world you're invested in?
I always find shipping wars like this funny, because it's like no one understands how hurtful they're being to the actual characters they're trying to ship. To be honest both sides are going at it. If someone ships ichiruki they have a right, if they ship ichihime they have a right. Just don't force someone to ship something if you do or if it's canon. Many fans in fandom will ship what they want despite there be zero romantic chemistry or chemistry teased. With Ichiruki, in my opinion was actually teased especially in the early seasons.

Also he never shut down ichiruki, he just said ''more than friends less than lovers''. So it makes sense why fans don't quite buy ichihime being planned. For me, ichiruki had more weight.
The fact that it caused accounts on twitter to almost get banned because of someone claiming an Ichihime artist plagiarized their ichiruki work, when they both were using the same reference picture, everyone hopped in the Ichihime hate train and bullied the artist. People say its hate on both sides to try and misrepresent the argument. The hate is very one sided with few outliers.
Shipping has 0 to do with the narrative clues in a story. Often people ship people together because they like the characters nowadays. Now a romance manga or anime is of course different because that’s the whole point but in a lot of shows we see these moments and we project our own feelings into, ichiruki being one of those situations

Also i'm part of that fandom the thing is about aot shipping is that who eren ends up with actually made an impact to the ending of the story. If eren end up with mikasa meaning they ran away together and live their remaining life togther in solitude like in chapter 138, but this also mean paradise will be destroyed by the outside world. Meanwhile if eren ends up with historia it likely follow the anr theory with eren complete the rumbling destroying the outside world and being the father of historia baby. Thing like this don't happen with bleach, naruto and other shipping war.
It's funny that when I watched bleach for the first time (if I'm not mistaken, the first episode I saw was Ichigo's fight with Byakuya), when I saw Rukia and Renji I thought "these two are going to be together" in the end was right

Kubo completely borrow the relationship from YuYu Hakusho yet people still clinging to this shiping. Ichigo will not end up with Rukia, just like Yusuke never end up with Botan. Also, it's common in old time shonen for MC to end up with anyone that shown to be head over heels with them first. Because I guess romance isn't the focus, and that's the simplest "romance" they can insert.
As Ichihime shipper, I don't have problem with ichiruki shippers. People can ship whoever they want with whoever they want. What I have a problem is (very) toxic side of Ichiruki fandom. I feel bad that normal ichiruki fans get the same flack as toxic ones... But I can't say it's not deserved. Ichiruki's fandom overall toxicity back in the day (and toxicity still to this day) is what made every ichiruki fan seems like a toxic radioactive waste that you don't want to be near. While I feel bad for non-toxic ichiruki fans to be grouped together with toxic ones, I can understand why it happens.

Becasue her character arc ends with Thousand-Year Blood War that never got animated until now, same with Ichigo's arc btw. They only saw her at her lowest in hueco mundo and the star of her rising in the Lost Agent arc. I didn’t read early bleach I was watching the anime and started the manga in soul society so I didn’t realize they actually were cutting out orihime scenes in the anime. Likely cause they didn’t know Kubo was building her as a love interest until the arrancar arc.
Lol this video pops up right after the Ichiruki’s where losing their minds after a Kubo Q&A got mistranslated. Basically someone asked if we’ll see more relationships from soul reapers with other squad members and Kubo said no we won’t see any more as it is hard to maintain that type of relationship. However the translator accidentally said no there a no relationships among any of the soul reapers. This lead all the Ichiruki shipper to think that Renji and Rukia got divorced and that Kubo was going to change the end of the story and make Ichiruki a thing because he “realized he made a mistake”. 😂😂😂

They've also said that if they could they would kill Kubo they would just because of the end pairing and that age doesn't matter if true love is involved when people brought up Rukia and Ichigo’s ages.

😅 The whole Shipping Wars business is one powder keg I PERSONALLY try to avoid when watching Bleach; especially since I like Orihime as a character. Really not sure why people get so salty about her being "useless" or a "bad character" which I may argue has been dealt toward Chad as well. And while both characters aren't as popular or win that many fights in the series, they both have moments that define their characters and shape them into who they are. Didn't Kubo say in an interview that he didn't like what the anime did with Ichigo and Rukia? They added many more scenes that implied romance and Kubo didn't like it, because it wasn't that in the manga. Also, I started to read the Bleach manga from the beginning, since I only read the TYBW in manga and watched the anime up to TYBW, and I was shocked at how different Orihimes character is and feels in the manga. They literally changed entire scenes or just cut them out. If you are a person, who doesn't like Orihime, go read the manga. Also about the One Piece ships, Oda said that none of the Strawhats will end up together. So I can just imagine the One Piece shippers going wild, when Nami won't end up with Luffy etc, etc... As an ichiruka shipper myself I hate how outspoken and obnoxious these people are but I’ll always ship them over orihime just for the simple fact that orihime and ichigo was always surface level and pretty plain not bad definitely a good dynamic and you can ship who you want but on a base level the chemistry was way stronger with Rukia and the development so I grew attached to them way more ontop of the fact that Rukia isn’t objectified like the other female’s characters in the same way compared to Rukia it just felt like a better more fleshed out relationship orihime is basic shonen love interest very one sided where it’s clear orihime has affection for ichigo but ichigo is pretty stoic but with Rukia it feels like a back and forth subtle connection akin to a shojo I’ve moved on with my life I don’t hate anyone for shipping what they want but I’ll always in my heart ship ichiruka because just as pairing they have more emotional connection chemistry and development than other canon relationships imo but yeah ship who you want get over it already move with your life I agree 👍

Orihime is a great person and great character. Orihime and Ichigo are a great couple and I shipped them from the beginning even though I didn’t read the manga. I can’t stand IchiRuki and I can’t stand IchiRuki fans. Rukia is wayyyy older than him and I have plenty of other reasons along with that. Renji and Rukia are better. 🤷🏾♀️

as someone who last year finish the OG series, even with the anime hints they had for the two: 1. they are way too much brother and sister/mentor and student for that 2. orehime doesn't deserve all the hate she got as of recently, seriously she could give people a piece of chocolate and they hate her for it 3. people forget that renji has a WAY bigger link to her then ichigo even being childhood friends back then. 4. you could say the same for a bunch of the hate to rukia in the series 5. Something kinda funny/depressing is many fans claim that Ichigo x Rukia is better cause they've got developing chemistry throughout the series. But i looked back and honestly, you'd be hard pressed to find a moment where they spend longer then a chapter around each other after Grimmjow fisted her gut.

Honestly i started with the anime then jump to the manga, but even in the anime i always see Ichigo and Rukia’s interactions, as that of the Bond between siblings, Rukia being the older yet childish sister and Ichigo the rebellious kid brother, who’s grateful for the help and guidance he gets.

Tbh rewatching this video I wanted to give my thoughts. I think Ichigo n rukia have an important bond. Rukias support manifests in what is meaningful actions and impact which is what a lot of ppl value in a relationship. Ichigo can clear his head thanks to rukia. She keeps him in line it makes for a healthy shipping dynamic. They understand each other well. I get it. it’s easy to headcanon them in love n enjoyable to do so from that perspective. but it’s just not “romance” n Kubo don’t think so either. I’ve always thought that if ur arguing Ichigo was in madly in love with rukia or sum then we would see that he fell that in the way he carries himself. His feelings for rukia would negatively affect his judgement and that never rlly happened and I’m not saying it has to be toxic to be convincing but I think it’s one of the biggest tells for the nature of their relationship Tbh u can even see what I’m referring in regards to Ichigo relationship inoue. She was even often used to highlight Ichigos/hollow/ darker side- the opposite of hollow being a human and she was one of the characters most embolic of humanity it always seems direct what kubo was trying to thematically. If ur issue is that Ichigo didn’t show enough romantic interest then u could argue he doesn’t rlly show any objective explicit intrest in anyone. He just has a girl who likes him a lot he is shown to care ab her feelings to a degree or have her feelings affect him. To what is at least a sweet friendship where to protect each other. So is it crazy to say they get married n have a kid 10 years later? Not really! It’s not an issue of writing its narrative intent. It sounds tired but romance is really not focus of these series. Idk if this makes but imo just because a relationship or character dynamic has a romantic/ partial romantic context doesn’t necessarily mean its purpose in the narrative is romance. That’s not point that’s not gives it meaning and this applies to other pairings . Not every development made has to sum elegant romantic gesture which is constituted as “development” Ichigo doesn’t need to have a great expression of romantic feelings to tell that inoue is his love intrest nor inoue character validated by whether he did but that’s just my opinion
I mean you can see throughout the series how ichigo and inoue are coming closer with each other. Fullbring arc already is hinting that they visit each other. Ichigo knowing where orihimes home is ( chad didnt know this btw). Ichigo asking why she is fidgeting so much and mentioning its not her first time being alone with him in his room when she brought the bread. In the novel WDKALY karin is mentioning how orihime resembles masaki alot. Karin wouldnt know orihime that good if she didnt visit ichigo alot. So its slow but steady process if people would pay attention to little details like i mentioned. Took around 4-5years in-universe for ichigo to make a move on her at the end of the novel. And according to kubo himself they took their time and started formally dating when ichigo and orihime after college (though orihime couldnt go to college because she didnt have the money for it). Ngl when i see someone saying they suddenly were married at the end than i have to wonder if they ignore all those timeskips.

I dont think anyone denies rukia is important to ichigo, orihime is just as important its just that it was shown in later arcs, and their arc conclusion actually tied to each other's growth. People just love to dismiss Orihime's part of it.

As someone who doesn't know much about Bleach (new to it) I really liked Ichigo and Orihime... They look perfect for each other and I wanted them to be a couple... Didn't knew they'd actually get together cannonically 😂
honestly I had no idea how much context was missing and how much was added into the anime that wasnt in the manga. After this video I read the manga and I have completely changed my opinon about ichiruki. I still love rukia to death (she should have been with me in the end tbh) but I see ichihime was indeed the plan from the very beginning

I personally prefer IchiRuki, due to the chemistry they had in the beginning of the series. But I was never mad when it was Orihime in the end. I still think IchiHime is a very good couple, and works well in the story. Ichigo is still one of my favorite characters and Bleach is still one of my favorite manga despite the ship not sailing. I still love the ending of Bleach, no matter how much hate it gets.

I mean, you say this, but I mentioned the other day that I think the idea that there was never any romantic tension between Ichigo and Rukia is objectively incorrect from a story-telling perspective, that this was not based on the anime at all and that this repeated talking point about it being “anime only” is misleading *at best* and that there are most likely other reasons than “Ichigo and Rukia didn’t love/weren’t attracted to one another”as to why they didn’t end up together in the story’s conclusion, and that this *does not* mean that Ichigo had nothing with Orihime and that they were probably always going to end up together for thematic reasons-and several people jumped down my throat and called me a head-canon spouting coping liar for even saying that much. By cheering up Ichigo's and advise him to forget the depression and go forward with the "dont worry, you will eventually find the solution along the way" mindset, she gave Ichigo false hope and psuedo positivity, directly led to him getting the most humiliated reality checking in his life from Grimmjow, and even heavier depression. Only after that, Ichigo has learnt the costly lesson of "You will never truly resolve your depression without facing it directly and actively seek the solution", and go find the Visored. Guess who was by the side of Ichigo that time.

For me the ending of soul society was the biggest tell that ichigo and Rukia would not end up together. Because she tells him that she wants to stay in the soul society wich for me signaled that the two of them just belonged in different worlds. That is of course only my interpretation of that scene.

I heard Kubo once said that he didn't want Bleach to focus on romance because there's so much more cooler things it has to offer. And honestly I wholeheartedly agree: I have never felt so infuriated ever since dipping my toes into the Ichihime and Ichiruki argument. And things like Ichigo's Getsuga Jujisho from the latest episode were so awesome.
At this point, I'm prefectly fine with both. I also decided a while back that I shouldn't judge those characters' decision and if they're happy I'm happy (despite being fictional people). I'd honestly be scared for them if they were real because there's just so much hate they have to deal with.

@bushamo I can tell many of the things you claim in the video are not true and I respectfully disagree. First of all orihime was not the one who motivated ichigo to go save rukia. Kisuke urahara already did that the previous day where he told ichigo there was a way to save him and he was motivated and snap out of his depression. In addition, during that grimmjaw fight even he said to ichigo him wanting to save her was bullshit and that he knew ichigo came to fight him because grimmjaw put a hole in rukia. In the fullbring arc orihime wasn't able to help ichigo at all because ichigo was depressed and kept thinking about rukia even having two poems about her stating those eyes I long for and and I wonder if I keep up with the speed of the world without you. Lastly, guess what are you forgetting when all of ichigo friends betrayed him he broke down and cry feeling hopeless with orihime doing nothing but watched. And guess what rukia was the one who save ichigo and snap him out of his depression. Rukia is the only one that stop his rain and is the ray of light that dries his black sun.
I found a video on tiktok of an IchiRuki shipper and their replies in the comments were so dumb. For example they said that marriage and having kids isnt always out of love replying to a comment saying that Ichigo and Orihime are married and that that is proof the ship is not canon. Anime shipping is the most toxic infested well that's filled with sexually failed individuals. The whole point of the manga/anime is the action packed story, the lore along with the superhuman abilities and the clashes between the good and evil that wield them. Kissing and uwu romances are NEVER healthy debates or priorities in the fandom. I'd be more disappointed and broken if the One Piece treasure turned out to be something meaningless than if Nami didn't end with Sanji for example. Who cares about who gets to have sex with who compared to the entire essence of the world you're invested in?

To be honest both sides are going at it. If someone ships ichiruki they have a right, if they ship ichihime they have a right. Just don't force someone to ship something if you do or if it's canon. Many fans in fandom will ship what they want despite there be zero romantic chemistry or chemistry teased. With Ichiruki, in my opinion was actually teased especially in the early seasons.
And Ichihime is teased in the early arcs as well!

It's funny that when I watched bleach for the first time (if I'm not mistaken, the first episode I saw was Ichigo's fight with Byakuya), when I saw Rukia and Renji I thought "these two are going to be together" in the end was right
SAAAAME, and even watching anime, which was IchiRuki biased, I still ended up preferring Ichihime because I loved the characters and their chemistry, even tho anime tried to hide it, But I felt it in my core!!!
The moment Ichigo LITERALLY threw Rukia at Renji and told her "now YOU must protect her" was the moment IchiRuki was truly sunk. Ichigo is all but obsessed with protecting people, but he gave Rukia's protection to *someone else* - and to a guy who asked hjim to save her! That's not somethign he does.
Kubo completely borrow the relationship from YuYu Hakusho yet people still clinging to this shiping. Ichigo will not end up with Rukia, just like Yusuke never end up with Botan.
Also, it's common in old time shonen for MC to end up with anyone that shown to be head over heels with them first. Because I guess romance isn't the focus, and that's the simplest "romance" they can insert.
As Ichihime shipper, I don't have problem with ichiruki shippers. People can ship whoever they want with whoever they want. What I have a problem is (very) toxic side of Ichiruki fandom. I feel bad that normal ichiruki fans get the same flack as toxic ones... But I can't say it's not deserved. Ichiruki's fandom overall toxicity back in the day (and toxicity still to this day) is what made every ichiruki fan seems like a toxic radioactive waste that you don't want to be near. While I feel bad for non-toxic ichiruki fans to be grouped together with toxic ones, I can understand why it happens.
For me it’s a struggle because I like both (I’m a multishipper) but then again shippers will be toxic unfortunately, toxic shippers make me just stay quiet because I don’t wanna get roped in with them I just wanna enjoy a ship in peace but can’t have that 😭

I didn’t read early bleach I was watching the anime and started the manga in soul society so I didn’t realize they actually were cutting out orihime scenes in the anime. Likely cause they didn’t know Kubo was building her as a love interest until the arrancar arc.

Basically someone asked if we’ll see more relationships from soul reapers with other squad members and Kubo said no we won’t see any more as it is hard to maintain that type of relationship. However the translator accidentally said no there a no relationships among any of the soul reapers. They also tagged Michelle Ruff the English actor for Rukia in one of their pieces and when she said the art was beautiful but the shipping of Ichigo and Rukia should've ended with the manga, they and their fans got mad and harassed her, threatened her, tried to dox her, and sent messages threatening viz to fire her. They've also said that if they could they would kill Kubo they would just because of the end pairing and that age doesn't matter if true love is involved when people brought up Rukia and Ichigo’s ages.

Didn't Kubo say in an interview that he didn't like what the anime did with Ichigo and Rukia? They added many more scenes that implied romance and Kubo didn't like it, because it wasn't that in the manga. Also, I started to read the Bleach manga from the beginning, since I only read the TYBW in manga and watched the anime up to TYBW, and I was shocked at how different Orihimes character is and feels in the manga. They literally changed entire scenes or just cut them out. If you are a person, who doesn't like Orihime, go read the manga. Also about the One Piece ships, Oda said that none of the Strawhats will end up together. So I can just imagine the One Piece shippers going wild, when Nami won't end up with Luffy etc, etc... And like the author shows that Ichigo and Orihime are married and have a kid and these dudes on Twitter post entire college essays about IchiRuki. As an ichiruka shipper myself I hate how outspoken and obnoxious these people are but I’ll always ship them over orihime just for the simple fact that orihime and ichigo was always surface level and pretty plain not bad definitely a good dynamic and you can ship who you want but on a base level the chemistry was way stronger with Rukia and the development so I grew attached to them way more ontop of the fact that Rukia isn’t objectified like the other female’s characters in the same way compared to Rukia it just felt like a better more fleshed out relationship orihime is basic shonen love interest very one sided where it’s clear orihime has affection for ichigo but ichigo is pretty stoic but with Rukia it feels like a back and forth subtle connection akin to a shojo I’ve moved on with my life I don’t hate anyone for shipping what they want but I’ll always in my heart ship ichiruka because just as pairing they have more emotional connection chemistry and development than other canon relationships imo but yeah ship who you want get over it already move with your life I agree 👍

as someone who last year finish the OG series, even with the anime hints they had for the two:
1. they are way too much brother and sister/mentor and student for that
2. orehime doesn't deserve all the hate she got as of recently, seriously she could give people a piece of chocolate and they hate her for it
3. people forget that renji has a WAY bigger link to her then ichigo even being childhood friends back then.

Something kinda funny/depressing is many fans claim that Ichigo x Rukia is better cause they've got developing chemistry throughout the series. But i looked back and honestly, you'd be hard pressed to find a moment where they spend longer then a chapter around each other after Grimmjow fisted her gut.
I mean what "bette"r way to try and make fans forget all the OBVIOUS chemistry you set up so you can pair the MC with someone else at the end? Just write out them out of the story for awhile, it'll be fine, readers have the memory of goldfish, there's NO WAY they'll remember all of the hints you gave towards the pairing that made the most sense, they'll be perfectly happy you pulled the rug out from under them if you just don't have the MC and the person they make the most sense with interact anymore!
Honestly i started with the anime then jump to the manga, but even in the anime i always see Ichigo and Rukia’s interactions, as that of the Bond between siblings, Rukia being the older yet childish sister and Ichigo the rebellious kid brother, who’s grateful for the help and guidance he gets.

Tbh rewatching this video I wanted to give my thoughts. I think Ichigo n rukia have an important bond. Rukias support manifests in what is meaningful actions and impact which is what a lot of ppl value in a relationship. Ichigo can clear his head thanks to rukia. She keeps him in line it makes for a healthy shipping dynamic. They understand each other well. I get it. it’s easy to headcanon them in love n enjoyable to do so from that perspective. but it’s just not “romance” n Kubo don’t think so either. I’ve always thought that if ur arguing Ichigo was in madly in love with rukia or sum then we would see that he fell that in the way he carries himself. His feelings for rukia would negatively affect his judgement and that never rlly happened and I’m not saying it has to be toxic to be convincing but I think it’s one of the biggest tells for the nature of their relationship
Tbh u can even see what I’m referring in regards to Ichigo relationship inoue. She was even often used to highlight Ichigos/hollow/ darker side- the opposite of hollow being a human and she was one of the characters most embolic of humanity it always seems direct what kubo was trying to thematically. If ur issue is that Ichigo didn’t show enough romantic interest then u could argue he doesn’t rlly show any objective explicit intrest in anyone. He just has a girl who likes him a lot he is shown to care ab her feelings to a degree or have her feelings affect him. To what is at least a sweet friendship where to protect each other. So is it crazy to say they get married n have a kid 10 years later? Not really! It’s not an issue of writing its narrative intent. It sounds tired but romance is really not focus of these series. Idk if this makes but imo just because a relationship or character dynamic has a romantic/ partial romantic context doesn’t necessarily mean its purpose in the narrative is romance. That’s not point that’s not gives it meaning and this applies to other pairings . Not every development made has to sum elegant romantic gesture which is constituted as “development” Ichigo doesn’t need to have a great expression of romantic feelings to tell that inoue is his love intrest nor inoue character validated by whether he did but that’s just my opinion
I mean you can see throughout the series how ichigo and inoue are coming closer with each other. Fullbring arc already is hinting that they visit each other. Ichigo knowing where orihimes home is ( chad didnt know this btw). Ichigo asking why she is fidgeting so much and mentioning its not her first time being alone with him in his room when she brought the bread. In the novel WDKALY karin is mentioning how orihime resembles masaki alot. Karin wouldnt know orihime that good if she didnt visit ichigo alot. So its slow but steady process if people would pay attention to little details like i mentioned. Took around 4-5years in-universe for ichigo to make a move on her at the end of the novel. And according to kubo himself they took their time and started formally dating when ichigo and orihime after college (though orihime couldnt go to college because she didnt have the money for it).
Ngl when i see someone saying they suddenly were married at the end than i have to wonder if they ignore all those timeskips.

I dont think anyone denies rukia is important to ichigo, orihime is just as important its just that it was shown in later arcs, and their arc conclusion actually tied to each other's growth. People just love to dismiss Orihime's part of it.

I personally prefer IchiRuki, due to the chemistry they had in the beginning of the series. But I was never mad when it was Orihime in the end. I still think IchiHime is a very good couple, and works well in the story. Ichigo is still one of my favorite characters and Bleach is still one of my favorite manga despite the ship not sailing. I still love the ending of Bleach, no matter how much hate it gets.

I mean, you say this, but I mentioned the other day that I think the idea that there was never any romantic tension between Ichigo and Rukia is objectively incorrect from a story-telling perspective, that this was not based on the anime at all and that this repeated talking point about it being “anime only” is misleading *at best* and that there are most likely other reasons than “Ichigo and Rukia didn’t love/weren’t attracted to one another”as to why they didn’t end up together in the story’s conclusion, and that this *does not* mean that Ichigo had nothing with Orihime and that they were probably always going to end up together for thematic reasons-and several people jumped down my throat and called me a head-canon spouting coping liar for even saying that much. I’m not even a shipper. I just like analyzing stories. I apparently triggered a bunch of people for having a thought.
This is not some one-sided toxicity issue. A loud chunk of Bleach shippers, maybe even a good portion of Bleach fans in general, are toxic. Internet discourse is frequently toxic, especially for “low brow” media like shonen anime and manga. This is not an IchiRuki specific thing.
It does not matter if they say that it is toxic, simply the ichiruki was the best ship with development of the entire series and manga and the best that would have remained at the end, that is, the final arc of Bleach is the best, but its ending will always be remembered as bad and more with His canon ships that nobody liked, after all, let's go until you should know that Orihime did not deserve Ichigo and whoever saw the anime and the manga will know why.

I'm an EX IR, I mean BIG . I knew it was over when the manga ending was announced. Also, there was a missed slang by non-Japanese readers that pretty much confirmed IH. Bleach did have a lot of plot holes and did go on way longer than necessary there was a lot to reproach the writing about (Ishida never got his arc, like Kubo said he would) but ships not ending the way some would have liked is not it.
