The part about the government owning all the land... that's the case in almost EVERY country. They just have different ways to camouflage it: land tax, property tax, etc. You may argue that those are just 'taxes.' How about you stop paying them and see if you get to keep your property.

As a Chinese,I have never heard those kind of news. I just searched some,I found there were some information about them, and the more you studied, the more complicated you will find. For example, the “virgin” one. That is happened in 2005, there was a village that wants to distribute lands only to the people is living and will be living in that village. So some girls from the village who is about to marry are not qualified to get land because they are considered not to live in the village in the future. The question is there are some girls do have boyfriends but they are angry at the rules and they argued that they are still not married and they should still be considered as a member of this village, what’s more, they are not sure to marry to other village yet. Those girls and village committees cannot agree with each other around the qualification of the land distribution especially when they talked about the possibility of marrying and leaving the village in the near future. Because the standard is very hard to decide, finally the village committee agreed that only ‘ virgin girls’ with boyfriends are qualified to get lands.

Then I realized that in China there were so many cars that any stopping cars will cause a traffic jam, while in US there are fewer cars so it makes sense to stop. The campaign was initiated by the local Party Committee Secretary Zeng Zhaoqi (曾昭起) and Bai Zhigang (白志刚).[1]
During the campaign, local officials were asked to perform forced abortions on any pregnant woman in these areas regardless of pregnancy terms or whether the unborn child is the first child of the family. The policy led to mass panic and dramatic reduction of the local population in 1991.

Do “Walt Disney’s Gummi Bears” and please put me in the credits.
The Gummi Bears of Gummi Glen are the last of a once great race of Gummis. Regarded by many as a fairytale they are gentle, loveable creatures who want to live in harmony with mankind - but sometimes it's not easy.
    * A group of reclusive humanoid bears and a few trusted humans explore their lost heritage and prevent their enemies from exploiting it.
    * Long ago, there was a thriving civilization of small humanoid bears called Gummi Bears. Possessing powerful magic and advanced technology, this race coexisted with humans until the growing rivalry forced the Gummies to flee across the sea, leaving only a small caretaker colony to prepare for a possible return. However, generations passed and the colony forgot their purpose even as human knowledge of the race faded into mere legend. All that changes when the colony meets a boy with a Gummi Bear medallion which unlocks the Great Book of Gummi which reveals lost knowledge of their past. Now the colony has dedicated themselves to the new goal to rediscover their heritage with the help of a few trusted humans while preventing new enemies like Duke Igthorn from exploiting that heritage to their own ends.
It is a Medieval Animated Shows set in Medieval Times and animated and televised by Walt Disney.

Also most people even in Canada don't know it's RARE for a property to have mineral rights, if you find oil or gold on your property it belongs toy the crown,.
SOME properties DO have mineral rights, however it will be WELL advertised in the sales advert, if it DOSEN'T say mineral rights included, you can bet the are not.
And last, some properties do not even include Forestry rights, you are literal not allowed to cut trees down ... they are property of the crown. One tree is particularly centered out the " Eastern White Pine" very few properties allow harvesting of this tree ..

I seem to recall just running, though to be fair the city I was in had underpasses and overpasses, so was not an issue. The land owning thing is similar here in the UK where rather than the government it's owned by aristocracy where you have to get what's called lease hold or free hold and pay ground rent, which generally is just £2 a year though and it normally last 100 years not 70 but be careful on new builds as the cost has been known to double each year!

Rights to use land are bought and sold but if the current "owner" doesn't pay their yearly lease fees, in the form of taxes, to the government, the land, or more accurately the right to use the land, is sold to somebody else who is then responsible for the annual fee.

Even in America you don't actually own the land either. Legally all land is state owed or federally owned. Even the land I "own" is not truly my land. The government can legally take it, with the right reason, but still just take it none the less. This is true for most countries and not really seen as weird, it's how a country works. Not stopping for pedestrians is a problem in the US too. It’s really an issue anywhere there are both cars and pedestrians.

@@DarkViperEU That's true, but I've almost been hit by enough drivers not paying attention to/caring about pedestrians in the US to know it happens in more places than just southeast Asia.

@@hadleysheffield5226 The difference is that you get hit by a car in China, not only are they probably not gonna stop, you would get a slap on the wrist by basically everyone if you survive.
You get hit by a car in the US, as long as you weren't jay walking, the person who hit you is in the most trouble.
