Rick was the driving force to get Black entertainment on MTV '84 , The year before, M. Jackson's Iconic Thriller debut & later Prince's critically acclaimed Purple Rain, made head ways! MTV would only play these two Black Artist along w/ Morris Day & Time , James would filed suit & smear MTV, By early '85 Eddie Murphy & Beverly Cop were a smash! Eddie was the hottest actor entertainer in Hollywood, Earlier Eddie had signed a 10 picture deal with Paramount for $25 Million, James decided to write the Song Party all the time featuring Murphy, The rest is history

That was COMMON back then. I graduated in 1990, but was a little kid when they were still doing that. Today people woud think he was aiming a grenade at the audience and have a sh!t-f!t !!

People smoked in stores, hospitals, restaurants and kids had a smoking section in high school.

I enjoyed the smoking part in it too even though I hate the smell of smoke now. I remember smoking in Dairy Queen and the local pool hall at age 13 and nobody questioned it. I remember sitting in the smoking section at Perkins at 1:00 A.M and those little Taco Bell ashtrays. My first job was at Burger King, age 16, and smoking in the break room with my adult managers because smoking was allowed and normal in a break room. I'm only in my 40s. People 30 and under have no idea what it was really like back then, smoke everywhere and hilarious politically incorrect jokes 24/7. Also before digital cameras covered every inch of Earth people used to be able to get really really crazy at parties and concerts without worry that it would be all over the world the next day. Life was real, and fun.
