Hot fuzz was a great movie and it is funny how it was influenced by bad boys 2 since that one got negative reviews the makers should have made it be influenced in bad boys 1995 since that one earned better critic reviews than the 2003 sequal.
Lets be honest we dont go into these movies for depth. We go into the for the fun. And neither film tops the 2nd film in that level
The franchise needs Michael Bay. The recent films feel sterilized. Very safe and pc. Also the fucking witch son bs made me want to walk out of the third one.
@@FootballJesus Michael bay has gone downhill as a director. The movies are just smaller budgets which is why they aren’t as bombastic. I bet a justin lin or a james wong would be awesome
@@jeffcunningham0389 Sure but the franchise is made for him. Bad boys 2 is one of the best buddy cop films ever imo. The comedy was better as well. I’d be willing to watch a more bombastic director at the helm because these new guys just ain’t it. Feels off. Doesn’t feel like bad boys anymore.
@@FootballJesus the 3rd one still felt like bad boys to me. Just smaller scale. But they’re just written differently now. Its not the direction. Plus they are giving these films much smaller budgets. Bad boys 2 cost $130mil in 2003.. that would be like $200mil today. For comparison bad boys 3 only had a $90mil budget

The fact that the first Bad Boys has a lower budget is why it impresses me more than the second one. It was able to be big and exciting with a smaller budget.

The original is easily my favourite! It's one of the movies I've seen most in my life. It blends the action and the comedy perfectly
I really wish people didn’t mention “Reggie’s arch”. A great part is that it’s a complete surprise. Knowing something happens takes away from the moment.
This is a ranking and I feel there's a certain expectation that it's for people who have seen all 4 films.
I was much more sensitive about what I said in my review of the film.

I'm currently watching Bad Boys for Life after watching the first two and I already like it more. The villian is way more bad ass. He shoots/kills and asks questions later. He doesn't mess around. The villian from the second movie I think is the weakness while the 3rd film is the strongest. It has more stakes. Not even the bad boys are safe. Will Smith almost dies in the beginning, and now the captain has been killed. It's like Mark Kincaid said in Scream 3, once you get to the third movie all bets are off.

I dont get why people focus on villians in a bad boys movie, the draw is will and Martin, and action, and bb3 lacked in the action department, killing off the captain was dumb, bb3 was easily the worse one

3. Ride or Die -enjoyed it, but just didn’t land as well with me for some reason.
2. For Life- Liked that it took a bit more serious tone, but still had the good action and comedy.
1. Bad boys 2- over the top epic action with comedy that landed throughout the entire movie. A guilty pleasure.

The 1995 original should be in the first place bay movie had emotion and wit it was more interesting than the sequals.

4. Bad Boys-Despite not having the memorable elements of its sequels, this is still an enjoyable kickoff to this franchise with solid chemistry between Smith and Lawrence, some well done Michael Bay action, and a good enough central plotline for the banter, action, and subplots to hang on
3. Bad Boys II-While the actual plot for this movie is paper thin, that doesn’t stop this one from being a good time for its nonstop, excessive Michael Bay action sequences and Mike and Marcus’ chemistry being as fun as ever
2. Bad Boys: Ride or Die-Even though not everything in this entry fully comes together, it’s still a really fun time with stylized and exciting action sequences, lots of funny comedic bits, a story with memorable elements, and the ever watchable pairing of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence
1. Bad Boys for Life-Because of its added emotion, more memorable story, continued chemistry between the two leads, new characters, and removal of the excess of the second film, this movie took the franchise to new heights and is safely my favorite of these movies

All good movies, and it's very close for each placement.
So watching the new one last night, I felt like I needed to see the previous one. So many major plot points were carried over from the last one.

This new Bad Boys was one of the funnest theater experiences I've had this year. Seeing it in a packed theater is definitely the best way to experience it. Shit was funny as hell. Martin Lawrence steals the movie
Bad Boys was the best. No down time, no missed jokes, the two stars at the perfect point in their career to make the film

The 2 new Bad Boys movies from the 2020s doesn't do their name "BAD" Boys justice! Bad Boys was not just supposed to be a action buddy comedy movie. It is about the recklessness and racism of our 2 protagonists! THAT's why it's called BAD BOYS! Unfortunately, Bad Boys For Life and Bad Boys Ride or Die are more "WATERED DOWN" versions of that! Bad Boys 2 (2003) is the epitome of what a Bad Boys movie is supposed to be! Now, I don't have nostalgia for the Bad Boys movies, I didn't grow up with them, the first movie came out before I was born, but I just like Michael Bay movies
I'm not gonna lie armando might be my new favorite character in this franchise his character development is one of the best ever
It’s a shame that you didn’t mention the directors. Their names are Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, and they are extremely talented. They come from Belgium, and we are sure to hear more from them in the future.
This is really close for me. Too close to really matter, but:
4- Bad Boys 2 (longer than it needed to be
3- Bad Boys 4 Life (not a fan of how they [kinda]retconned Mike & Marcus’ friendship/partnership to give Mike a kid.
2- Bad Boys: Ride Or Die (really enjoyed it, maybe more than I thought I would)
1- Bad Boys (This is one of my all time favorites. A very flawed film, but the immediate chemistry of 2 sitcom stars with a first time director to make my favorite movie of all the 1990’s is legendary…to me).

@SeanChandlerTalksAbout me and my dad and my buddy David went and saw ride or die tonight and I will say honestly the first few minutes, I thought to myself “hmmm……I’m not sure about this.”
SPOILER ALERT!!!!! For those of you who are looking forward to Bad Boys Ride or Die and have yet to see it, don’t read any further as I am about to discuss some of my favorite moments below.
Don’t get me wrong the opening had it’s moments however, where it really kicked into high gear for me and my buddy David was when, Marcus is on top of the skyscraper and started his whole “spiritual journey” type deal, and the whole “I can’t die, it’s not my time!” gag.
I actually thought that was a hilarious contrast to the character we got in the first 3 films and I thought he contrasted really well with Will Smith’s Mike Lowry in particular because, it felt like a really cocky/over the top version of Mike in the first couple of films especially and I’m sure Bad Boys fans can see where I’m coming from.
I also thought it was kind of cool to see Ioan Gruffudd back in a film again as I don’t recall seeing him in anything since the awful fantastic 4 films he was in as Mr. Fantastic.
I had my suspicions that he was one of the “rats in the walls” that Captain Howard talked about posthumously on video but it was really obvious the moment he was on the elevator with Rita and all of a sudden he loses it and brutally attacks her and the AMMO team at least those who are in this movie, had to save her.
My first thought at that sequence was kind of an eye roll because I thought “how on earth could you attack and risk losing a relationship with a girl that hot like Rita I mean really?”
I do think the final action sequence was much more fun then the previous film though, and Armando had a nice hero moment which to me was fantastic

They are all good in my opinion but that second one created by Michael Bay (Bad Boys II) is just unmatched. From the action N it’s humor. But the age Mike and Marcus are at everything seems right with the last two made by them. I don’t expect them to be killing ppl like crazy at that age anyways. But in the last two we surely got to dive into their lives a little more.
1.) Bad Boys II (Will Smith made this one n gave it some life with action n Martins (Marcus) personality gave it that edge it needed with his antics n humor
2.)bad boys 4… I like how Marcus was more carefree n loose in this one
3.)Bad Boys. Martins humor brought the charm to this one
4.) Bad boys 3 it was good but Marcus grew up with Mike it said that in the first and second movie why wouldn’t Marcus know of Mike going undercover for Captain Howard when he was younger but still a great movie in itself.
I hope they Make a 5th n last one n if possible bring back Michael Bay n see what he can create with these two Marcus n Mike to close it out.

4: Bad boys II: a big excessive action movie with great action and great comedy but maybe gets too excessive at times and the plot is very thin
3: bad boys: after seeing bad boys 4 twice I decided to put this at 3rd but this is one of my favorite action movies and one of my favorite buddy cop movies but the plot is not super memorable
2: bad boys ride or die: a great action comedy with my favorite action in the franchise the best side characters in the franchise and you actually care about the story
1: bad boys for life: has all the humor and chemistry and fun action of this Franchise but also has emotion to it
I didn't really have any interest in BB3 or 4 - however after hearing the great reviews - I think I will catch up on both. Thanks for all you do Sean🇨🇦

The Bad Boys isn’t a franchise that is known for great stories or plots or anything, but action, comedy, over-the-topness, and likeable characters.
Michael Bay was amazing at the action. The new directors weren’t terrible, but not as good. Without the Bay action, I feel like these newer ones are just generic fun that have the great characters to prevent them from being boring. I would highly disagree and say that the Bay films were WAY better.

To be fair, I've only watched the 3rd one once. So, maybe it would change. Either way, the original has always been my favorite one. But, I enjoy them all.
@SeanChandlerTalksAbout I just saw Bad Boys Ride or Die today with my buddy David and my dad at the local AMC theater and I must say, I think Reggie stole the show for me, I kept hearing before I saw it that he had a sequence that was going to steal the show for people and he most definitely did that for me.
I honestly thought people were being facetious about him stealing the show in his scene but, he definitely did, he reminded me of a black Rambo in that sequence and not saying that to be offensive, I’m just saying that’s what he reminded me of just wiping out all the bad guys in Mike’s house like they were nothing
Bad boys 2 is an all time classic
This fourth part wasn't bad, because it had quite good moments, but it made Marcus's character completely like a kindergartener, and with this misdeed they completely took away the seriousness that was built up in the previous part. Let's face it, the actions weren't very memorable either, only the camera handling was unbelievably creative. This stage underperformed on almost every level. I didn't like it, and this is the first Bad Boys movie that I can say that about. I'm sad, I expected something else.

Bad Boys 1 all the way. Lawrence plays more of an action role and isn't subjugated to just comic relief.
Bad Boys 3 and 4 should’ve switched titles. Three should be Ride or Die. Four obviously should be Bad Boys For Life.
I am in the minority but I don't like the first two movies. I did love the third movie. Definitely agree with Bad Boys for Life being the best for me personally. Still need to see Bad Boys Ride or Die. I'm glad to hear the fourth film sounds like a fun movie.
