Has anyone actually dissected these tracks and analysed where they sit on the spectrum? That snare is FULL, from 20hz to 20khz! Dave Jerden really knew what he was doing. You couldn’t make these drums any bigger if you tried, there mathematically perfect 😂 that’s how you record drums. I’m not surprised to hear this from someone who worked under the pressure of frank zappa.
Such a sharp piece of work. Sean is way under mentioned.
I love this! Thank you for this dude!
This is maybe my favourite drum part ever, they carry the whole tune, so groovey..and I’ve never heard anything like it in music from before and since
What a great drummer Kinney is. I like his little tricks he always does with the crashes and hi hats
It's mostly splash cymbals on this track, actually
He’s a really nuanced drummer. That’s what makes him so hard to copy
Thank you so much for posting this! I can’t believe I didn’t come looking sooner!
Love the drumming on this track
Awesome track to practice the bass line to. Thanks
Epic soft reverb :)

That makes so much sense. I've always wondered how such a light jazzy drum beat could feel so massive.
Toby Wright produced this album actually. He really does know his stuff
Yeah, how do you get that snare sound? Step 1, buy an $800 snare... but seriously, what are they doing besides reverb?
Also Sean Kinney!!! Haha but yeah it's crazy big, so awesome
@@briansnead4787 I would imagine a good room mic or spaced pair of rooms, for added character and depth of field for sure. On top of the mixing/eq.
