That’s because 37mm isn’t as small as most Men want to make it out to seem. People are wearing too big a watch these days. Like when baggy suits were showing up everywhere. 🤦🏾♂️
Men used to wear size 34mm. 37 is plenty big. We’ve been brainwashed into thinking that 41 ish mm is a normal size. It’s not, it’s very large unless you’re Andre the giant or want everyone to see that you’re wearing a big chunk of watch on your wrist. 37 is utilitarian and only as big as it functionally needs to be. If you’re buying a watch primarily for other people to see or you have an 8+ inch wrist, get an OG black bay or 58. If the watch is for you to see, 54 all day.
Facts. I wear the BB54 and i have above average size wrists
Please bring back the old format, it was incomparably better and was the magic sauce that made the channel stand out and a favorite to many.
Out of curiosity, I wonder if Andrew had to relinquish the ‘talking hands’ title to someone else on Watchfinder?
I agree 100%. The channel has lost the charm of its formality, even if it was just a veneer. The Lange Triple Split video was, for me, this channel at its zenith (no pun intended).
Translation: “no more face, just the hands”?
i dont really see the difference tbh.
The fame has clearly got to him… Can’t keep his mug off the screen these days it seems 😉😆
The BB 54 is clearly better, more adult, nice bezel, without the over done patina from the 58, which I sold last week.. my wrist: 18cm😊
1. The 58 all day; the 54 is just too small on the 7+ wrist. 2. Bring back the old format--was pure class!
To each their own. It's great that Tudor has 3 size options. I personally have an 8" wrist and love small watches. Today I wore a 34mm vintage Omega. Small still works.
No wrong .
I tried one recently (54). Almost purchased but when tried it on too small for my modern taste.
58, near perfect size, little pop of red, makes me think of a bond watch
Yes, the Bond Rolex Big Crown.
Bond never had a red triangle 5508 Rolex ever , period . Sorry he had a 6538 big crown yes but the red triangle is an internet myth. Check the goldfinger stills . No 15 minutes increment hash marks and definitely no red triangle .
@@bruh_oly1370 its the watch in general for me but thats interesting info thanks 🙏
58 all day! So much vintage yumminess 😋
58 is very special
There is a warm charm to the 58 coming from the gilt bezel. It has a nice pop of color from the red Triangle that is also found on the Rolex Big Crown. The 58 design borrows cues from Rolex/Tudors of past without being an exact replica. Also, at 39mm it sits comfortably on most wrists.
I personally prefer the look and size of the 54, the silver bezel with no red triangle makes it really versatile
It’s good to find the watch that best suits your taste.
This is how I see it.
54 is Refined/Quiet/Sleek/Sharp/and Cold
58 is Rugged/Louder/Colorful/and Warmer.
This is one of those conundrums that we could think about and dream for months then just get the one that's in stock at the time you visit the AD as you just could not make that definitive decision. Then driving home wondering if you'd just purchased the wring watch. That feeling would have been present regardless of which one you get. Surly getting both is the only way to be sure but then every time that you wore the 58 you would be wishing that you put on the 54 on instead and vice verse. The only real solution to the conundrum is just to purchase something else entirely... or is it?
Ive recently traded my 58 in favour of the 54. I was trying to kid myself over the past year that the 58 was the better watch. But the simplicity, true to form vintage proportions and all of the tiny improvements makes the 54 the perfect watch for me, a more refined version of the 58. Both are amazing, but as a first time buyer the 54 is the black bay to get.
I tried them both on and chose neither. I went with the new burgundy bezel Black Bay with the jubilee bracelet.
I like the knurling on the 58. It feels like a real “coin edge” to me. Refined and well machined, I’ve had no problems gripping the bezel or the crown. I wish it had a T fit, but that didn’t exist when the watch came out so I can’t really expect them to change later models of the same watch. Love the comparison tho
I’m kinda waiting for them to upgrade the clasp- figured they would do it soon as the ranger and 54 have it. Doesn’t make sense to not update the 58 to me
58 all day all week. I’ve got the blue version. It’s perfect for the office, for playing with the kids and for the French Riviera. It’s oozes cool cat and the size / weight ratio is 10/10 ✌🏻
Cheapest watch on the french riviera... 😉

Agree 100%
Please go back to old format. I fear if not this channel will go the way of many great ones and die because they changed. There’s already other channels with face and this USP was the old format
The 58’s bezel is the decider for me - without the red triangle and those nice warm golden numbers and dots, the 54 just looks bland and uninteresting.
So true and the matching coin edge bezel to the coin edge crown make it very cool.
58 all the way
I own the 58 and plan to get the 54 for the missus. So that’s two competitors on the podium and surely go tops in the construction standings right? 🤙
I’m in love with the Black Bay 58. The size, the vintage feel, and the modern quality. In tend to buy one at the end of the year.
The 54
54 -54 -54 amazing proportion ! And i love rubber - t fit
The bb58 if the bezel didn't fade to white...... Saying no one wears 37mm watches is pure bs
You’re right. A lot of women do indeed.
I’m glad Tudor is meeting everyone’s wrist size needs… men and women.
Had no idea it fades. How did this happen? I wear mine on vacations on the beach, hiking, pool lots of outdoors activities and the bezel looks perfectly gilted and I’ve had it for 3 years.
@@KeepingWatchUK Your picture is literally of the Rolex Explorer, not long ago it was only available in 36mm. Mr talking hands has only got 7 inch wrists, 37mm is not small for him.
I wish I could disagree with the below, and I remain a huge fan of Andrew, but the previous format was superb, and unique, and utterly captivating. Much of that has been lost. I hope we're in the minority as the content remains excellent (and has informed some of my, and no doubt others, decision making), but I do miss the hands. 😢
Not for a second have I considered trading in my 58. Literally nothing is an improvement....to me.
To me , the 58 is perfect.
we have two fellow "You're terrific"-viewers in the house... thats funny....to me ;)
@@Chris_BQ who?? (Jokes)
@@trickyhippo2641 well isn't he the guy with the.... SEVEN IIIINCH WRIST ??
@@Chris_BQ no I don't think so. I'm sure he said it was 178mm
Please bring back the old setup. It feels weird
The 58 every time. Visually the 54 looks like a (negatively) modded 58.
I am a vintage guy but don’t mind my watch getting noticed and complemented every so often. Thus, BB58 for me😎
I have an 8" wrist, own a BB heritage, and have nearly bought the 58 countless times. That being said, I like classically sized watches and would purchase the 54 right now if the dial features stainless steel hands/markers and white font.
Question to Watchfinder management : have sales and P/(L) improved since Andrew Morgan’s face reveal ?
39 always perfectestiestrer
Personally I don’t like this new size .. far too small for me. The ‘58 is also too small .. and I find the BB 41mm as perfect. But I’d say the ‘58 is probably the best size and look for most.
I agree and for that reason I bought the BB GMT and the BB Black (41 mm.) and I'm really happy with both watches.
This small watch fad will pass
I'm taking the 58 because I don't have bitch wrists
58, by a length. I think, the same way Tudor might have been thinking in the 1950’s, looking at the 54 and asking, “How do we make this very fine watch even better?”. And the answer would be - the BB58. I don’t know what, or if, the difference is in the size of the dials, but the indices of the 58 appear to have room to breathe. The 54 - a little less. And who doesn’t love the bit of red around the bezel pip?
"And who doesn’t love the bit of red around the bezel pip?"

@@SpektrikMusic Hello, Killjoy.
54 is amazing even your wrists are big ! People comment here without trying the watch
Black Bay 54, i like the thin watch and the T Fit, and it’s closer to the original Tudor Submariner.
I've been watching these comparison videos for weeks now to help me decide. Wish yours came out yesterday cause this morning I went into my local AD and picked up a BB58 39mm bluey...And I have zero regrets.
The 58 for me (dreaming) only because my Invicta 😱 Pro Diver quartz is 37.5mm and looks super dinky. But hey, how good would they look without the snowflake? You know I’m right.
I'm more of a vintage Rolex and Tudor collector and I am tempted to buy a BB 58 or 54 and try to find a set of Mercedes hands along with drilling lug holes in the case for the spring bars. For me that would make a BB 54 perfect.
Total Tudor fan boy here. I have the 58 in blue , BBpro and Ranger and just received the 54 as I really wanted the 58 in black as well. Crazy I know so the 54 came to answer my prayers. 37 would typically be too small for me but on the bracelet something magical happens and it fits perfectly: the 58 is the perfect watch and the 54 will be a perfect watch for most. Pushing 7,5 in wrists and it may fit small proportionately. From someone who used to think Tudor was the poor man’s Rolex to one of my favorite brands that have just done one amazing thing after the next. I also own 5 Rolex models so you can say I’m biased:). I recommend ppl try on the 54. The thinness makes it incredible as well, Something not a lot on reviewers have spoken about . It’s a great watch and I love it
im all about the BB58 i like you also own the bb58 and it is as close to perfect as you can get
I chose the Black Bay 58 but I do miss the microadjustments on the 54. I find my watch loosening a lot if i get sweaty. I love it. I wear it worry free unlike my steel drolex where I get more conscious in a crowded area or cramped locations.
The 58 for me - colouring, size, second hand. Could stand to have the improved clasp, and deeper knurling on the crown.
I do own a BB58, BB58 925 i do enjoy owning these watches, and there excellent time keepers,so i will stay with these beauties 👍
I have the BB 58 blue , and i jump on thé BB54 ………. And ….. thé BB54 is way better , insane watch
The 54 is more refined and authentic to a point were I think there's more nostalgia with it being a remake of tudors 1st ever diver overall I think its the better timepiece not taking anything away from the 58 it's a stunning watch, but the 54 has that extra x factor imo it's a beautiful watch well done tudor😊
Bring👏🏻back👏🏻the👏🏻old👏🏻format👏🏻
☺️
Talking Hands guy revealed!! Seeing the transition. I like it.
Love the other channel too, straight comedy
Went with the 54 myself as 36mm is my sweet spot. I have a small wrist at around 15cm so it's a perfect fit. The fact that all the features are in my eyes more refined at every level was just icing on the cake. Really like the t-fit clasp. Is it me or did the lume plots seem a bit overfilled on the 58? Looked kind of 'pillowy' in the macro. The 54 seems to have a more even coating with a nice little lip to highlight the inner edges of the hour markers from any angle. How much of this actually translates to the naked eye is debatable.
Omg it's really u!!!
Ah, the pitfalls of hyperbole. Others among us, however, are/were less easily brainwashed so have no need of recourse to the backtracking drivel and Byzantine apologetics to justify the Next New Thing.
Who is a rich man? He who is happy with his portion (a BB58 in my case).
"if you're one of the people who does wear that size (37) or smaller, that's because you're part of the no-one group [8:11]". LOL yup yup mini wrists = tiny watch choices. I'm glad Tudor pitied us with the 54. So by geometry alone, it has my vote.
Discontinue the OG58 and revise it to a 37mm with improved clasp, bezel and crown geometry (and a rose on the dial) as a 2026 (100 yr anniversary) release.
Another great vid. Would love to see how this would look on my wrist. Although as a recent BB Pro owner I couldn’t afford another one anyway :)
Having owned the BB58 for a couple of years and then selling it, and now having tried the BB54 in store, I would say the BB54 was the submariner I was looking for all along. It is the perfect submariner for me, the one with the trues proportions to the original, and now a competitor to my Explorer.
54 easy i tried both on and am not biased as have owned neither.
AMAZING VOICE, but you should do something about your hairstyle and fit of your clothes and you should be fine.
I bought one when my Submariner was in the shop. Loved it. In house movement. Great clicking bezel. Fantastic clasp, comfortable bracelet. Great simple design & size. When I got my Sub back it wasn't getting the wrist time & I felt guilty. I gifted it to my younger brother & it doesn't leave his wrist. I still look at these videos like longing for an Ex Girlfriend.
I felt that 😂
54. As you grow older, you appreciate convenience more and more over design, look, etc. A smaller watch means more comfort. Simple as really.
54, I am part of the “basically no-one group” because of my small wrist
Love them both and just bought the 54. I worry I won't wear my 58 because of it. By only gripe about the 54 is the undersized crown.
Stop f around Tudor and give us a GMT looking 39mm GMT.
Too late, Zulu time beat you.....
I have given Tudor absolutely _no_ attention for as long as I've been a watch enthusiast (40 years) because in my mind they represented "junior Rolex" and I had zero interest in Rolex either. (I tend to shy away from watch brands that _everybody_ knows and wants.) However, I was in my AD the other day shopping for a Speedmaster when I spotted the BB GMT in Root Beer on a leather strap. Holy cow!
I went home and had a evening of frantic Googling and YT'ing to make sure I wasn't crazy, then went back the next day and bought it. I absolutely LOVE this watch. Don't care if it looks like a Rolex. Don't care if anyone thinks I've gone for a "junior Rolex". I think it's gorgeous.
I just wanted pure info itself but here is a 9 minutes of storytelling. 😢
Ugly looking hour hands… I can’t get over them even though I love everything about it that it is a tool watch
The lume surround on the 7 index of your 54 is noticeably thinner than the others (the 1 appears less uniform also, though not as drastically). That's QC that would upset me on a Seiko Prospex much less a currently-difficult-to-source Chewdor. Curious if the one you shot was preproduction/"press fleet" or a retail model?
FWIW, had an original ETA BB, the 58 never did anything for me. The 54 is very appealing, but I'm being distracted greatly by the Vulcain Natique.
Fernando reference 😂
I got the call from the AD to say that my BB54 with the rubber strap was in the store. Look forward to picking it up.
Trying to pick between rubber strap and the stainless steel on the bb54, what is your reason for choice of rubber strap?
@@ajmufc2415 I have other watches with a steel or gold strap, so just wanted something different! I'm also on the waiting list with my AD for a Rolex Daytona on Oysterflex so thought I would use this for now to get me in the mood :D
@@P8REN yeah the Daytona on a oysterflex is just beautiful and I think I’ll be getting the rubber strap bb54 on Friday this week!
Amazing guy but the old
Format is just unbeatable 😊
I have 7 inch wrists as well and i wear a 37mm watch, a 1964 Seiko Weekdater, and it fits me perfectly.
54 Andrew 54 … ❤ because…… reasons.
And I like to be a part of noone group
I chose the 58 I like the size better, and the navy blue goes with everything blue I wear. I just can't get enough blue. I tried on every Tudor they had in stock (nearly), and the 58 just worked. Felt like it was an extension, not an addition. I had previously thought that all Black Bays were too chunky until I saw the 58 in person. Yes, the 54 is similar or the same in height of the case but the dial felt too small. I like the more vintage style, and given the opportunity to have those minor embellishments in the 58, I would love the gold hands and markers, maybe even a red circle in my triangle, but I'm just fine without them. I bought mine from an AD in Paris and it was my first purchase of a Tudor and I'm smitten.
If the 58 gets no on the fly clasp then maybe I should get a San Martin instead 🤔
I miss the old format
54 for me. Prefer the non graduated bezel and lack of red triangle
this could've been a 2 minute video
I disagree, the dial on the 54 is completely different
54 wins easily on refinement alone.
58 is great but appears just a bit juvenille, but thats why we love it.
58 juvenile? The 54 I’d say is more so if anything, as it’s sized for kids. Each to their own 👍🏻
@@KeepingWatchUK Yeah, juvenile is not the first word to come to mind when describing or comparing the BB58. It’s not even in the top 1000 words which might come to mind….🤔
He is just repeating the words of the reviewer. He said he found it juvenile. I find the 54 really boring looking. It’s the 58 minus all the charm of the gilted bezel with the red triangle and matching coin edge bezel and crown. But that’s just my opinion and it’s great there is something for everyone.
The 54 is Fun sized.
I want a 58 with the bezel of the 54
I'm the same. I want a Grand Seiko without the grand price or the Seiko name.
I love the cool coin edge bezel that matches up with the coin edge crown.
And this is why Leon Edwards has the sexiest physique in the univese.
Mentioning Alonso. Ok it’s my next watch lol
I’m basically no-one and proud ✊ 😆😂🤣
I would go for the 54 since i have a 58 already.
This video was created to stir shit between 54 and 58 enthusiasts
I have a 7" wrist i and own all four now, don't ask me why please. I like the 54 a tiny bit over the 58. Amazingly the BB54 on steel bracelet wears like a 38.5mm and I'm loving it, I guess the rubber strap is the issue here it makes the 54 wear smaller then again pics and videos play a role on how watches actually wear. For me BB54, P30/58 tie then Pro.
Do the bb58 and bb54 have the same links?
54. It looks less like a diver and that suits me.
They all look almost the same 🤷♂️ not my cup of tea
This channel and P1 with Matt and Tommy are the same channel to me.
Fernando Alonso reference is genius.
BB 58, hands down !
58 all the way every day, 54 for women
58.
I'd probably buy the Seiko
I’d probably go for the red triangle. I don’t think 37 is too small but I’ve never worn one with a turning bezel. That might make it look too small, I’m not sure. But it doesn’t matter because I would want the red triangle. And while I have spent about that much for a watch I wouldn’t spend that much for a dive watch. Dive watches are beaters.
I would have to disagree the black Bay 58 maybe a dive watch but by no means is it a beater!! And this is coming from someone who's beater watch is a pelagos lhd
That's what I'm saying it's not a beater. I knock out the ceramic bezel inserts and crack the sapphire inserts. I'm not spending a lot of money on a bezel. Never wreck watches with regular bezels. I do think the current black bays looks better than a sub or any omega diver though, especially if they have a glossy ceramic bezel.
Shout out to Uncle Straps the GOAT
I always felt the BB58 wears super weird on my wrist, I do prefer the 54 all day everyday and that’s what I own. And also the 54 is not ‘too’ small in fact it fits my 6.3in wrist perfectly!
When 58 was still can try on wrist at AD couple of years ago, I found it too small for me. So original heritage 41mm was picked and never look back since. Now 37mm? dahhh… to me, it would be for hobbits
i hate the crown stem that is why i chose the 54
sometimes we need those talking hands 🤓
I literally just bought a used 2024 Tudor BB58 from Watchfinder. Can’t wait to see it in person
Nice face! Keep making these.
Maybe I should have waited for the Blackbay 60. 38mm size, no snowflake hands or faux rivets, T fit clasp with a folding arm that's not too long...
