The Black Knight Training dummy that fights back with broomstick throwing capability, nice. looks simple enough, good practice, a rubber sleeve with hose clamps should work for holding the spring & stick together.
Thanks for turning me on to this I built my own with multiple springs so I can move arms to different positions works great I added rubber tires to the post so that I can also beat on something you're the man
Thank you Ervin for showing me how I to use the spring of the car antenna. In my turn I suggest you install old bicycle tires around the 4x4 post you're using.
Great start! Excited to see how it continues. Might want to add a tennis ball to the end to help reduce head hits. When I can I'll make one of these or mount to the fense haha!
Bit of rubber strip under legs will lessen any rocking. Top work. You could put another arm on rear then you can step off and work your way around whole dummy...
Hey Ervin great Idea, I would say turn the stand diagonally about 45 degrees and cut out a flat spot to set the base, set some tire padding above and below as well as extend it or not cut it off at 5 foot but cut it at 6 foot tall!! OK now Im acting crazy! again great job.
Stick that post into a buck of cement, so you better practice maneuvering around and circling :) Duct tape around the spring and stick would do wonders too :D
Good job, check out PEX pipe, it’s way tougher than PVC, it will last longer. If the diameter is too big on the pipe, I’d recommend filing the inside of the coil, so it doesn’t weaken your pipe. Best wishes.
I built something similar but with 5 sticks at different angles. The first one I did was years ago and I showed it to Guro Dan Inosanto. They don't have springs though. Might have to upgrade. Ha
You can adapt your device to Wing Chun training dummy, I would think. A sturdier pole, stiffer spring action, etc. Good idea my friend and great potential for development.
I know this was a prototype,& over a year old now, but throwing on some adjustable feet like what you can put on furniture would give you the ability to easily, & quickly adjust the dummy so it is level, & eliminate wobble especially on rather uneven ground. It will also help keep untreated wood off of the ground so it will last longer. Treated material would also be more durable though it is pricier, & heavier.
Great bro. I was thinking of this 20yrs ago, cant think how 😂 considering at time just a simple kid and just have yo use what i can see in the backyard 😊
I used a vice to hold it still, then used a flat head screw driver to wedge it out slowly. Eventually when it was far enough out, I took some pliers and pulled the rest of the way. A bit of patience and elbow grease. It was worth it at then end, though.
Great idea, don’t do the pvc pipe. PVC can shatter and it will have sharp edges to it. That someone or yourself can be injured. Other than that, Excellent!!
Hello. Unfortunately, I can't find the right accessories on the internet. Can you kindly tell me the source of the "spring system" from the "Homemade Filipino Kali Dummy" ? Thank you for your reply. Greetings Henry

Man, at first I said what the hell. Once you demoed it I get it! I love it and it can be applied to boxing wing Chung so much. Nice job!

My friend I just saw this now and I’m inspired. Great work! Looking forward to making one myself
BayaniWarrior Let me know how it works! Good to hear from you
Really nice.
very good idea...
Great idea! I’m going to make myself one. Thank you!

Awesome!
Very Cool video. Thanks for sharing. Can I asked what type and size of tools did you use to remove that piece?
Good for you,Sir!
Definitely super cool 😎
Well done.
Use garage spring, made this 15yrs ago, build my own full set up. Bags dummy hands, n sticks vertical n horizontal.
Glad you posted this, I’ve been looking for something like that barrel spring for ever! I will be building one of these!
Love this concept I will be making it and posting a video soon after thank you so much the barrel spring idea was the best trick I'm seeing so far
Did you ever make one and post a video?
Nice! I like it!

Great idea!!!
you could put on some pads, so there are areas to strike empty handed aswell, or even knees, elbows. nice thing. wish i had one.
Smart work my friend
Awesome
Great piece of equipment. I definitely will try to make one myself following your instructions.
Very cool
Genius idea
terrific
Great idea
Great work . perfect for home self training
Not bad for a first build
This is a great idea. Thanks for sharing the video
thanks nice Idea!
Very nice. Did you do anything more with this? Did you ever make another version or have other people made other versions that you have links to?
great vid, thanks. love the spring arm hardware.

Definitely round off the centre column
Nice idea, thanks for posting. What exactly is the name of the spring and the ball thing? Thanks.
Very Creative👍👍👍👍👍👍🥋🥋🥋🥋🥋🥋💯💯💯💯💯💯 I'll keep that as a food for thought. Thank you for sharing.
I like the concept but trying to figure out how you got the bottom flush against the wood?
Cool design brother, looks like it could also be translated into bo and jo staff. Love the foot support idea.👌🏽
A breakthough in sports equipment. Any thoughts on padding the lower portion of the stand?
Stanley Wallace Good idea! I’ll have to try a few things out

Impressive
Great job!!!! I like it. I’d order one if it’s shippable.
Nice job
You ever think of mounting it with a square peg and multiple square holes so that you can vary its guard.
Do some padding with foam Ervin it will give safety to both dummy and stick that's pretty cool dummy you made keep rocking
Nice job love it however stay away from using PVC pipe if you get too vigorous it could break, shatter, and turn into shrapnel
Maybe if they wrap it in duct tape it will help keep that to a minimum when it does break
Nice
COOL, Nice Idee 👍👍👍 you have a new abo
Could improve the stability using a concrete filled bucket as a base
nice job.............!
How did you pry the end off of the spring?

Nice..
Where did you buy this spring set?
I will watch your career with a great interest.
Exelente !!!🤜🤚☯️

I might do one but cement it into the ground.....make it about six foot and add a leg lol
I want one
how did you pry the end off the spring? I got the exact one you have and I can't get it off haha.

Hi I can't buy jbc986 what can I replace it with?
😎
I CAN NOT GET THE TOP OF THE SPRING OFF! : ( How did you do it?

How to by the materisls?
You might be able to glue that p v c pipe in it
PVC is good for everything. Even a Bo , but that’s Liberal.
Do you live in Atlanta? I’m in Suwanee. Would you be willing to meet up for a session?
Actually I live in Virginia Beach. I got the Atlanta shirt from a grappling tournament a few years ago
Very cool
