  • What is the spring I used? (No, I'm not sponsored. I just bought it and tried it out.)
    ProComm JBC986 Heavy-Duty 3-Inch Ball-Mount with Barrel Spring
    - www.amazon.com...
‼️ EDIT: Thank you to everyone who have been DMing me and letting me know you tried it out. I've seen some good ideas coming out of this!
‼️ EDIT 2: Regarding taking out the screw bolt thing. I’m not to lie, it was a bit tough. I used a vice to hold it still, then used a flat head screw driver to wedge it out slowly. Eventually when it was far enough out, I took some pliers and pulled the rest of the way. ⭐️ If you don’t have elbow grease, this prototype project might not be for you.

Man, at first I said what the hell. Once you demoed it I get it! I love it and it can be applied to boxing wing Chung so much. Nice job!

The Black Knight Training dummy that fights back with broomstick throwing capability, nice. looks simple enough, good practice, a rubber sleeve with hose clamps should work for holding the spring & stick together.

Stick that post into a buck of cement, so you better practice maneuvering around and circling :) Duct tape around the spring and stick would do wonders too :D

Bit of rubber strip under legs will lessen any rocking. Top work. You could put another arm on rear then you can step off and work your way around whole dummy...

Thank you Ervin for showing me how I to use the spring of the car antenna. In my turn I suggest you install old bicycle tires around the 4x4 post you're using.

Great start! Excited to see how it continues. Might want to add a tennis ball to the end to help reduce head hits. When I can I'll make one of these or mount to the fense haha!

Hey Ervin great Idea, I would say turn the stand diagonally about 45 degrees and cut out a flat spot to set the base, set some tire padding above and below as well as extend it or not cut it off at 5 foot but cut it at 6 foot tall!! OK now Im acting crazy! again great job.

Good job, check out PEX pipe, it’s way tougher than PVC, it will last longer. If the diameter is too big on the pipe, I’d recommend filing the inside of the coil, so it doesn’t weaken your pipe. Best wishes.

I know this was a prototype,& over a year old now, but throwing on some adjustable feet like what you can put on furniture would give you the ability to easily, & quickly adjust the dummy so it is level, & eliminate wobble especially on rather uneven ground. It will also help keep untreated wood off of the ground so it will last longer. Treated material would also be more durable though it is pricier, & heavier.

You can adapt your device to Wing Chun training dummy, I would think. A sturdier pole, stiffer spring action, etc. Good idea my friend and great potential for development.

Great idea, don’t do the pvc pipe. PVC can shatter and it will have sharp edges to it. That someone or yourself can be injured. Other than that, Excellent!!

I used a vice to hold it still, then used a flat head screw driver to wedge it out slowly. Eventually when it was far enough out, I took some pliers and pulled the rest of the way. A bit of patience and elbow grease. It was worth it at then end, though.
